Watching Strongman since a few month now. The thing that's so unique about it is how only a very select group of people is able to even TRY to lift this class of weights. And in wich they themselves battle eachother but also encourage eachother to do better. You don't see that in most sports.

Though I don't do strongmen style training, as far as I know the difficult part of the axle press is getting the weight up to the shoulder press position. Eddie could easily strict press more than 216kg back then. Incorporating leg drive wouldn't have mattered. (And honestly it looks way more badass. Strict pressing that much weight is incredibly insane)

He is now 25 turning 26, he is pulling 400kg with a hitch so id doubt hes hitting 501kg anytime soon. Yea that set up was 207 kg first, then 217 kg when he tried for the record.
