You two need to watch "Passchendaele" (Pashendale) from the same live concert. It's based around the WW1 battle and they've put a lot of time and effort into making the scene fit the song. You'll see when you watch it :D

This performance adds some nice perspective on the passion of Maiden around the world. It's just 2 months after the Dance of Death album was released in 2003, and look at the fan reaction in Dortmund. You'd think they're playing a crowd favorite that's 20 years old. The En Vivo Dance of Death performance is even better than this one.

These guys are wizards, lirerally. Think of the Baird's and poets of Medieval times. Iron Maiden is the evolution of the travelling minstrels of the past. Believe me, they rocked back then too. The Middle Ages lasted a thousand years. We carry on all this history in our DNA. It's surreal and, yet, true. I love the Celtic Melodies. Great reaction! 🙏😌

Bruce is one of the very few singers who can silence a whole damn crowd just because they are clinging to his every word. The silence in the beginning when he sings the slow part is so heavy you can almost touch it.

Some people don’t like the album Dance of Death. IMO it is a masterpiece of storytelling by some of the best song writers the world has ever produced. You should check out Paschendale from the same concert - about a battle in Belgium during WW1. BTW Hitler fought in that battle. Just imagine what the world would be like now if he’d been killed there in 1917.

I'm yet to find a single artist with a perfect album where I like all the songs on that album. But the songs on there that are masterpieces, dance of death and paschendale, are absolutely incredible and there's no denying that

It's May now World tour is on got me tickets for 2 UK shows plus one for Barcelona looking to acquire one for either US or South America thinking Chile as they are massive over there, last comment I saw from a Chilean guy was they almost declare a national holiday when Maiden are in town, as they know nobody will go to work the next day, that sounds good to me!

TRIVIA: the whole music and concept of this song were inspired to Janick Gers by the ending scene of Ingmar Bergman's "The Seventh Seal", in which some people are seen dancing the so-called "Danse Macabre". He presented the riffs and explained the concept to Steve Harris and he wrote the lyrics and the melodies.
