Very true, when I managed to see them live, they had Rob Halford (of Judas Priest infamy fronting them), I destroyed my voice at that concert and could only "speak ?" in a soft croak for days afterwards.

The pilot you saw at the very beginning WAS actually the singer Bruce Dickinson, flying their own plane. They even had a bigger one, a Boeing 747 "Jumbo Jet", on their next tour, painted their name on and, of course, again piloted by Bruce himself 🙂

About that « feeling at home » comment: I am from Quebec, a french speaking province in Canada. Iron Maiden was playing on the Plains of Abraham (Plaines d’Abraham), the place where English conquered French territory in Canada in 1759, and Bruce talked to us exclusively in French THE WHOLE FREAKING SHOW (1h30 to 2h). Not only that, but he also talked (still in French!!) about that obviously decisive moment in our history that we all, at the moment, shared by music. That man (not taking anything away from the other members of the band) showed not only his genuine fairness and historical knowledge, but also his deeply rooted respect for every place this band goes and the for the fans following them. That man, at that moment, made us feeling at home, while with us! Maaaaaaad respect for them!

These guys!!! .... For instance, this song is one of their most loved. It came out in '82. It has been played at every show for 40 years. And still you can see shear joy in them as they play. That energy carries over and is felt by the crowd. The then the crowd energy is bounced back to the band and creates an epic bond I've never felt the like of with ANY other band

I was fortunate to be at one of their shows from that tour. Something I will cherish forever, one of the best experiences of my life. Nicko's comprised the following: 1 Snare Drum 8 rack toms 1 floor tom 1 bass drum 1 hihat 6 crash cymbals 1 splash cymbal (smallest one at the middle) 1 ride (the biggest one tilted) 1 China cymbal 1 huge gong behind him
@marcgrote7540

I'm pretty sure Nicko has 7 crashes. There are 4 in the left side of the kit over the 6", 8", 10",& 12" toms & then he has 3 on the right after the ride over the 15" & 16" toms.

This was a very heartwarming video to watch. You clearly are person that experiences for joy and emotions in a very large way and you were very brave about just showing and being very open. I thought it was Charming to see Iron Maiden weave their magic on yet another new fan. Seeing them in concert as a teenager was mind-blowing for me they were always so good, they always give 100%, and you always came home feeling like they really love their fans and wanted to give them the very best they could. I have seen Iron Maiden dozens of times over the years and that has never ever ever changed. As someone else, that they aren't experienced not just a band and I agree with you, they have stood the test of time and their music will go on forever. It's great to see that they are playing to some of the biggest crowds of their career now with all of the band members easily in their 60s and still they can outperform bans half their age.

Bruce Dickinson (the lead singer) also wrote historical based kids books and has a few solo albums, one of which was awarded the Grammy for best heavy metal album of the year, in the year of its release. I can't remember the albums name or the year of its release but it was in the 90s which is a bit of a blur for me. (Rock and roll lifestyle 🤣).

not only do Iron Maiden have their own 747 (Ed Force One), but Bruce Dickinson (Lead Singer) pilots it and has flown at least some very lucky fans on it to concerts. Edit: Aye Iron Maiden are something else live, if you ever have a smidgeon of a chance to see them live, I would highly suggest you do so, as if you manage to see them live you are seriously in for one heck of an experience and a half, also if you do manage to see them live Bruce Dickinson (lead Singer) has beaten Throat Cancer. Edit:Edit: if you get a chance to see them live I very strongly advise that you grab the chance with both hands and jump all over it.

I have seen Maiden at least a dozen times in every decade since the 80's and the only way I can describe it is this - A live Iron Maiden show completes your soul. You FEEL the music and they FEEL your energy and pour it right back into the music. Dare I say it eclipses orgasmic pleasure... 👀 Bruce Dickinson - Vocals Steve Harris - Bass Guitar Dave Murray - Guitar Adrian Smith - Guitar Janick Gers - Guitar Nicko McBrain - Drums

And if you do, it's the one from Death On The Road 2003! It's the better version, from its original tour...I don't know why the hell everyone only recommends the one from En Vivo

Glad to see the excitement for Maiden. Their catalog is vast so there is a lot to discover. I tend to recommend live over studio because of how good they are with crowd work as you've seen but you can't go wrong with either. Some off the top of my head When the wild wind blows - En Vivo Live Paschendale - Death on the road Revelations - Live After Death Wraithchild - Rock in Rio Moonchild - Maiden England Heaven Can Wait - Maiden England Rime of the Ancient Mariner - Live After Death The Trooper - En Vivo Wasted Years - Books of Souls live 2 Minutes to Midnight - Live After Death Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter - Maiden England

Just saw them live and I saw Bruce on his Solo tour. Amazing the energy these 50-60 year old gentlemen do on stage. Amazing.
