Iron Maiden is a Legend today becuz of Bruce Dickinson even though Di'anno was the first vocalist. Period! Di'anno got fired cuz he couldn't sing. I mean listen to any of Maiden's song with Di'anno as the vocalist. Do u call it singing. He sounded like a maniac trying to sing with shit coming out of his arse. He was good at showing off his bare chest n running around like a retarded madman on stage. Iron Maiden needed a 'Real Star' n that happened in the form of 'Bruce Dickinson.' Bruce is the reason for Maiden's stardom. He changed everything. Even Paul Di'anno's persona doesn't come anywhere close to Bruce's let alone his voice n the singing style to say the least.

He's very business minded.. To be fair it was a recording studio opening private party, and he'd literally flown in. Stopped for an hour then had to get gone again. Probably wasn't best way to meet him.

I met Di'anno after The Iron Maidens gig at the 02 Islington London. He sang Wrathchild and ofc Iron maiden to close the show. He had plenty of banter with the audience and made us and the Maidens laugh. A very down to earth guy and very approachable. Shook his hand, had a chat and took a selfie with him.

I agree. only one I like better than dianno is Halford. dianno didn't have a very wide range but his voice was soaked in the attitude of the streets. same with pearcy of ratt...neither were great singers but both were great vocalists/front men in their early careers. sadly drugs always seems to play in... cheers

Bruce dickinson voice is better, better when it somes to Vocal range and power. At the end of the day really it all comes down to personal prefernece. If you like maiden with an edge listen to the first 2, if you like maiden with pure Heavy metal listen to Bruce.

Di'anno was great on the only Album I heard him on. I use to play that album while playing my video games. Actually use to crank it up quite loud. And Mom Let me. And yes the video games at the time sucked arse. Let's be honest here. When Bruce took over, it was a whole new band!!! A Awesome Band!!! Not only on vocals but showmanship. Bruce always Thanks the crowd. He has told us, " if not for you we would not be here!" Iron Maiden is one Kick Ass Band. Di'anno got me hooked on the sound. Bruce Owned it and Still does!!!! Thank You Iron Maiden for the many great tunes. Especially "Bringing Your Daughter to the Slaughter"

does anyone know when this is from? If you check interviews with Paul he is sometimes negative about Iron Maiden and sometimes positive, hard to gauge his real opinion. I like it when he is like this as I hate when he is negative as it does seem like it's sour grapes and just someone with a bad attitude. He has said plenty of bad stuff about them since, so this whole series of 8 clips surprised me. I like the first two albums best also and his two Battlezone albums which are pure metal!

No it isn't ' typical' maybe if you were living in East London in the 60s and 70s this was typical but for the rest of the U.K this is anything but ,especially in places like North Wales , the Highlands, Manchester, or Cornwall. Maybe your geography and knowledge of history is limited in terms of regional accents in the U.K, i don't know, there are 4 countries within U.K terroritory all with different accents - they even speak different languages i.e Scottish Gaelic, Welsh , Irish Gaelic ( North).
