This song is easy to understand when you've lived it. They are painful parts of life, many call them life cycles, others, midlife and old age crises or going through the death of someone we love, they all have the same painful effect on our interior, for example. It is clearly dedicated to the deceased father of Steve Harris. Someone who was important in his life. Harris makes clear the questions that he began to ask and question in life. If you see the world this way, for example, at the beginning of the song he talks about mirrors and reflecting in them. People are constantly mirroring us (known as the law of the mirror), they show us ways of being of ourselves, and if we dislike someone it is because what we dislike about that person is in us and we have to heal them. People show us what we have to heal in ourselves. When Steve's father died, he left many things unresolved with him, they failed to forgive each other, if there were grudges or unresolved conflicts in their lives between Steve and his father and after his father's death Steve thought that everything had healed in the past, but the truth is that his death showed him that nothing had truly healed and those wounds reopened, now only his memories remain. From this point Harris began to experience the dark night of the soul as some call it. What if you take a walk through the garden of life? What's in the world? We all know what's up. There are republics in wars, countries with famines, deaths, desolation, corruption of politicians, superficialities, trivialism and self-centeredness. We are all human and we are prone to mistakes. The emotionality that Harris felt due to the pain of the death of his father made him question life, his own life and his existence, what is the point of living if we live in a world bathed in so much blood of innocents? The meaning of life, that depends on each one, since no truth is absolute, only the one that you yourself believe. And… is it worth living, making plans, sharing with others? if at the end of all this destiny will make all that change and life will make you die. (a pessimistic way of seeing life, but when you're plunged into depression it's inevitable) Live if in the end we know we're going to die. So how can I live my life? if the people important to us go away and leave us in complete desolation. Life gives us many opportunities and we often make the same mistakes. If you realize sometimes the same mistakes, the same patterns, the same negative experiences are repeated to us and that happens because life always wants to teach us either in a happy or painful way. And it repeats experiences for us so that we learn to overcome them, if once we cannot learn them another opportunity will appear and if we are not aware of this game we will be experiencing a karmic cycle in which we remain trapped in that bitter wheel, of conflict, of bad experiences and not only we are in this wheel of karma but the whole world is immersed in that karmic cycle that repeats error after error and does not learn. It also alludes to the book Egypt of the dead in which there is a lot of philosophy to understand topics such as death, life, reincarnation, incarnation, love, etc. Regarding the chorus of the song: The consequences and violent acts that humans cause in the world, bloody acts that harm people's lives and their integrity such as wars, natural disasters caused by humans affect us all equally since we are all part of this same life, we are all one and we are so prone to all this. That makes us blood brothers. In the end we all think, we are all made of flesh and bones, we all have red blood, we all have the same five senses, we all breathe and a heart that beats in each emotion. It is not worth living in disharmony and imbalance, we can all live in harmony and brotherhood.

Every time i look at your eyes expression during one guitar solo i understand and notice that you are good listener for great music like Iron Maiden , real emotions and joy run through your veins, and it goes to show making the difference with others channels ✌✌. I think Iron Maiden your dimension, they are storytellers, great musicians and Bruce Dickinson is Graduate in medieval History at University, even if your husbund says right this is old music but timeless dreamy 🖤! Try also "Revelations " and " Children of the Damned " by Iron , you will like soooo much 🤟

I know you reacted to this particular song already, but I think it'd be worth your time to react to Metallica's For Whom The Bell Tolls live from 1985 from the Cliff 'em All documentary. It's back when their Bassist Cliff Burton was still alive, and his style of play is completely different than what you've seen from Metallica so far.
