"the darkest days of metal (90s)" and it's literally the decade where black metal was being innovated by Darkthrone, metalcore was being pioneered by Converge, visual-kei was being redefined by Malice Mizer, power metal was being perfected by Blind Guardian, death metal was being taken to new progressive territory by Opeth, and symphonic metal was being straight up invented by X Japan. Are you out of your mind?

When the Futureal single came out (that contained this video in its multimedia section), we used to watch this on repeat for hours and hours on end with my best mate since 1st grade. We both used to be recalling this memory often as it reminded us of a time of utter bliss. My friend has sadly passed away 22 days ago, and I haven't stopped watching this as it's one of the few things that help me cope. I really like this song. Very rock n roll. To be fair I like the 2 albums they did with Blaze. He gets a lot of stick but he had very big shoes to fill when Bruce left Maiden. He struggled with a lot of the older material in the live shows because he just didn't have the same vocal range as Bruce and while it wasn't great he always gave 100% and you've gotta give him credit for that.
@bersewrker883 жыл бұрын
ofcourse every reasonable Maiden fan will aknowledgeBlaze as a part of Maiden history His task was way too hard for Him but in the end He had few great songs on those 2 albums and few bad songs cause of Voice range and what other band members wanted to hear. To be straight Blaze couldnt perform perfectly all DiAno and Dickinsons songs but Bruce ….. Bruce with His voice range and voice control can do anything. So lets not talk shit bout Blaze He did His job as good as He could :)

Don't You Think I Could Save Your Life" over and over and over and over and over again for a good 3 minutes straight, and then they do it again for another 4 minutes straight I like the rest of the song though, just wish they didn't repeat so much in it.
@bloodandsilver34409 жыл бұрын
Richard Michael Egan why is that a bad thing? Its like any instrument playing the same riff throughout. Blazes voice is an instrument. I find the full song very catchy. Its not a great song, the other songs are much better but its a good song. Its not just the singing you hear throughout you also hear some great guitar work and solos. Being unable to listen to a full song just because the same line is sung constantly is pretty pathetic to be honest.
@RiMiEg0079 жыл бұрын
I listen to the song all the time, it's not a bad song to me. I just think it could do without all the repeating that it does. I can tolerate Seventh Son of a Seventh Son and Brave New World, cause they don't go on for 3 minutes in those songs. My dad is worse, he flat out refuses to even listen to Blaze Bayley era songs (exception of Lord of the Flies, which he still can barely tolerate, I however love the song). I like just about every song on Virtual XI, but this song just repeats too much, doesn't mean I don't like listening to it from time to time though.

This song is one of my favorite out of Maiden's entire catalog, that being said, the video leaves something to be desired. The CG animation and the Star Wars cantina are great, but they have nothing to do with the song. The song is about a man faced with the decision of where he'll be spending eternity. Not to mention the song for the video is cut in half from the album version. I like it, but it could have been better.

The CG animation is great? It looked terrible even back in 1998...

Bruce Dickinson will always be the voice of Iron Maiden, but Blaze Bayley is still a great vocalist with great stage presence and charisma, and his recent solo album (War Within Me) isn't half bad.

One of my favourite Maiden's song, video and album! The solo by dave murray is remarkable, but is cut on the video. Blaze's voice on top with a strong chorus. It's the 3rd Maiden album with the use of synthetisers, and the result is very good! Eddie's very funny here!:)

I think that this song should de at most 6 minute long. Cut 3 minutes of chorus repetition. Leave the intro, the complete lyrics and the two awesome guitar solos. This will take the song to another level of quality. It has an incredible melody.
