Yes, same company. Iron-Rhino has it's own spec for USA but same company. We have exclusive rights to distribute in USA.

@@chipperllctrailersandequip4214 thank you very much for the response. For the money, it seems to be a pretty good machine. I had the opportunity to purchase a unit or two at an auction a few weeks ago (Meng units rebranded as something apart from Meng or iron rhino) and they seem to be off better build quality than what I would have expected. They had some nicely thought out features too, including a higher ground clearance than comparatively sized units. I got outbid on the units but I've got my eyes out for one in the near future

How does the IR480 stack up against the Hysoon HY380? Both seem like nice very similar machines. IR480 appears to have counterweights so can lift a little more, but what are some other differences?

The IR480 has a higher operating capacity, and a higher flow rate. The IR480 track is more narrow than that HY380 Track even though the IR480 track is 8" wide vs the 7" wide track of the HY380. The IR480 has 4 independent drive motors while the HY380 wheel has two drive motors and uses chains to connect front and back wheels to the drive motors. The HY380 uses Briggs Engine while the IR480 uses the Honda GX690.

@@chipperllctrailersandequip4214 Thanks, great explanation. Any differences you've noticed with quality between the two machines? Such as overall reliability or build quality? Smoothness, forward and reverse speeds, bucket speeds, machine noise, vibration also are factors I suppose. I guess the 2 motors vs 4, could be a pro or con depending on how you look at it.

Our experiences with both have been good in regards to build quality. We haven't come across many warranty claims for either. Both machines are pretty smooth in operation. We put the track versions of these machines side by side to compare cycle time and drive speed. The cycle time of the lift arm was the same between the two models but the HY380 did have a faster ground speed.

@@chipperllctrailersandequip4214 Thank you, thats good to know. I think the Hy380 has 2 hydraulic motors for the wheels, and the IR480 has 4? Also, what are your thoughts on manual hydraulic controls vs joystick controls? Can someone get good with the hydraulics ones and operate the machine to the same competency as with the joystick, or are you limited? It seems like for a beginner at least Joystick would be much easier, but was just curious if its possible to master the manual and operate it smoothly and efficiently.

That is correct about the drive motors. I definitely find it easier to operate with joystick controls, but there are many operators who have learned to use the mechanical controls fluently for a smooth control of arm and drive while operating.

What type of hydraulic oil does the ir1000 use?

Any good quality ISO46 in most climates. If really cold can run thinner oil but we run ISO46 in Georgia, USA.

@@serenitytreeservice5448 It's a judgement call. Neither 32 or 46 weight will hurt the machine. If most of your run time is summer I would default to the 46 weight.

@@serenitytreeservice5448 Just my opinion but Tractor Supply oil seems ok. We have ran it our older machinery for years when were were just rental equipment before we became a dealer. Now we are dealer we buy in bulk tank. They supply us with Coastal AW46.
