After the 2023 CrossFit Games, my 10th, I "retired" from individual competition.
Fast forward to about one year later, after finishing the 2024 CrossFit Games on the podium with Team Peak, I got in invite to compete solo at the Rogue Invitational.
Given that it was being hosted in Scotland for the first time, I bit the bait!
Oh yeah, I'd already signed up to take on my first full Ironman, which would take place the weekend before.
Challenge accepted.
After completing the 140 mile race (mini documentary coming soon) I took a 10 hour road trip back home to Miami, got on a plane the next day for a 10 hour flight to Scotland, checked in the day we landed and started the competition the very next day. Watch the video here to see how it all unfolds!
Thanks for all the love. Keeps me going during tough times!

I absolutely love watching any event you are in. I know you are disappointed with your finish at Rogue, but you are such an inspiration to so MANY people. I didn't even pay attention to your standing in the event and I feel bad that I didn't know how alone you felt, because all we saw on this side was that you just did an Ironman and you were there giving it your all. Not only that you were in great spirits and entertaining ALL of us! Just WOW what an accomplishment. CrossFit won't be the same if you leave. Rest, recover and realize your value to all of us out here. Thanks for sharing.

What an incredible accomplishment! An Ironman AND Rogue!?! Wow! And you are always so much fun to watch. Regardless of where you place, I love your energy and your true joy in what you are doing. I hope you took time to enjoy where you were and take it all in. Thank you for letting us come along on your journey, no matter what you decide to do.....We will always be here with you. From Punta Gorda, Florida (west coast) - we are PROUD OF YOU!!!

Dude, you constantly amaze me. Watching you, like you said, interacting with the fans, winning over hearts - THAT'S WHAT WE NEEDED. That's what gave me chills. That's what brought that feeling below my eyes making me wanna tear up. Getting to see you compete as an individual again was more than a treat for the crossfit world. We have loads of athletes, yourself included, who can demonstrate the physicality required for this sport. But almost no one (ever) demonstrates the gratitude that you show. People like Chandler and Lazar and you do and have done it different. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. But, I am sad to hear that you felt alone. I can only imagine what it would be like to compete so far away from my wife. Through the broadcast, all we saw was your smile, your flips, your body checking of the pylon. We saw someone HAVING FUN IN FITNESS. That's what we need. I am so sorry that you felt alone and I know it's cliche to say that you will always have your fans - but you will. We arent going anywhere, no matter where your path leads. The memories arent going anywhere either. Love from Canada, Noah. You're such an incredible inspiration. Thank you!

It was a joy watching you at rogue and I loved this video because of your honesty. You made no excuse and showed your vulnerability which was so relatable. Glad you enjoyed the moment and appreciated it for what it was. Thank you! We know Noah isn’t done yet!

Noah you were a pleasure to witness and one of the only athletes to take the time to talk to us at the end when we had waited for so long! Much love 🥰

Don’t normally comment, but just came to say - hard a brutally bad performance at the crossfit gym this morning and though it’s obviously so much smaller scale, and seeing you process your performances here (at a larger scale) was honestly really helpful and community-giving. It helped me to remember why I do what I do and what the real goal is. Thank you for honesty and sharing this, I loved it

I loved rogue this year, it’s was amazing to watch and your personality definitely made it feel like the old days again! I also think it’s amazing that you ran an iron man 5/6 days before rogue, not knowing how your body was going to pull up from it and choose to compete anyway. To perform as well as you did in general regardless of your body holding you back at times was a testimate to your mental fitness. One of the biggest things we as spectators admire is when you see someone ‘superhuman’ expose themselves to the unknown and letting their ego take a backseat and embrace it for what it is. It’s a true reflection of the real world I think and I’m so glad you chose to compete! ‘FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY!’

You are a beast men. well done in the Ironman. it would be fun to see all games athletes do an Ironman. (Full distance). It should be the buy in for every games athlete in the off season.

Always and inspiration man. Doing a full ironman and a high level Crossfit comp within 5 days of each other is a true measure of where your fitness is. There are very few people on earth who could do that.

I watched this during my morning workout. Hanging in a place of honor is one of your t-shirts from the 2016 CF Games! Autographed! Keep doing what you’re doing. We all struggle and I believe fans identify more with CF athletes that while performing at an extremely elite level fall short from their goals from time to time. However despite setbacks they find the motivation to push through and that is truly an achievement. Thanks for showing us what winning really is about.

Man, let me share my opinion about what you talked about in this video. I do agree with you that the feeling of not being one of the first in any workout is rather odd. However, the fact that just a week before, you did the Ironman is unbelievable. The mere fact that you were even there competing is impressive. You were always there with that amazing smile, cheering people up. Please be extremely proud of what you have achieved. Even though it may not have been your greatest competition, you still went out there and completed Rogue. That is just amazing! I admire you a lot-you are a role model and an incredible person. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Noah! I love you, homie! Dude you did something that no one else has ever done, so of course the results may LOOK lackluster but you honestly have NO ONE to compare them to! doing an ironman + ELITE crossfit event in the same week is nuts…. goggins would be proud. but i can also see how you lost your “pop”, your. muscles probably adapted to behaving more slow twitch like bc of the ironman prep

Hey Noah! Watching now, and doing an ironman just 6 days before this event is definitely NOT an excuse. I am a former elite triathlete and can certainly say that it takes close to a month to recover from the event. Given this is your first ironman rodeo - you will def feel it. I love the example you have set in the sport of triathlon as more triathletes NEED TO STRENGTH train!!!

@@NoahOhlsen Def! and I think an amazing platform for you in triathlon is to educate triathles about cross training and strength. I know so many triathles who do not strength train, skip strengh training and do no believe in it for sucess in the sport! I count on someone like you to develop training plan for us geeky traithletes!!! I am waiting.... :)
