In the end an irredeemable monster like Plutonian was reborn as the idea of the very superhero who inspired him. Poetic actually.

@ultra4488 its hard to say. Plutonian never died, his physical body did wither from the radiation, but his essence and soul was divided by qubit into different parallel universes. One of the essences became an inspiration for superman, the very hero plutonian was inspired from. Quite poetic in a way

ah yes, "greatest" hero that made Plutonian return and wipe out another couple of cities, made military panic and release Parents and the deadly radiation. If that's hero too you keep them to your world, just far from normal people's heroes worlds.

@@FirstnameLastname-my7bz Imagine if Qubit allowed Plutonian to be killed by the candle bullet instead of Orian earlier in the series. Ok fine. But there's a reason why Orian was deemed "a last resort," and it's likely because there wasn't a way to re-banish him, so now they've killed Tony but Orian is still alive, and they would've likely had to unleash Tony's parents (or some equivalent) anyway in order to deal with Orian. It was a no-win situation, but Qubit calculated for the least amount of lost life.

💯💯💯 I'm glad they called this out. I know Batman thinks he is being strong by not killing the Joker and his other enemies but he's actually being very weak and, in his own way, causes thousands of more deaths by simply not putting these bad guys out of their misery.

@Roy_boy14
@Roy_boy14 2 жыл бұрын
@@apierre6 it’s not Batman’s fault that these guys keep killing people, it’s the person who’s doing the killings. Joker’s plan is to get Batman to kill him, that’s his goal. Batman doesn’t let Joker achieve this goal, in order for this to work for Batman, he needs to prevent Joker’s killings and not kill the joker. So Batman keeps putting him down, throwing him in jail/prison hoping that one day Joker will grow tired and give up, and possibly turn to god or become a good guy, who knows hahaha.

No, Superman by Siegel and Shuster was Wild card vigilante with anger issues who killed/left to die/didn't care if they died in process of intimidation his villains, who were mostly average human gangsters or even super smart humans (he tried to kill Ultra-Humanite and Luthor multiple times). He was far from being square (except maybe in the sense he didn't like murderers, thieves, bullies, etc) and definitely not a boy scout nor follower of any kind of authority except his own values (although he Never touched policemen or military that was on his side, even if they were shooting at him) and he wasn't even always in the right even within narrative by writer,i.e.his co-creator (Superman 25 and 47 for clear example). And only reason he softened in further issues was because of ban on violence and questionable deeds by editors. Original Superman is far from wholesome archetype, that was mostly Clark Kent side.

I think Cubit really shined this volume and really managed to make me come around to him in the end. I think he still stumbled a bit but for the most part stuck the landing. He pulled a better Professor X styled move than when Professor X did (against Shadow King if I remember correctly...?). The ending was kinda weird and artsy, but I didn't hate it. I mean, where else could it have gone besides just having Plutonian win and just rule over a contaminated Earth?

About the part at 48:00 when you comment on Mordeus unlocking more of Bette’s abilities. It really reminded me of one of my favorite X-Men, Iceman. Emma Frost entered into Iceman’s body in one story and realized he isn’t using his powers to their fullest. It pushed Iceman into Omega class.

I love your videos, but I disagree with your comment that Max Damage's inclusion being pointless. Max Damage was there to show his extreme anger at Qubit's plan in front of the Plutonian. The Plutonian was much more likely to agree to Qubit's plan if Max Damage strongly disagreed with the plan, since the Plutonian is likely to do the opposite of what his enemies want.

I swear The Plutonian is the luckiest man alive.... throughout this entire story there have been so many people that could have killed him either by being smarter than him, or through some kind of magical object or just by simply being more powerful than him...and yet everytime he's on the verge of death something or someone comes through in the nick of time to save him for whatever reason....so much of this story could have been avoided had The Plutonian not been this lucky 😂

It was very polarized, but I think Waid did what others wouldn't for the ending. It really came out of left field to me. But I was in awe about it moreso than angry or disappointed. I felt Plutonian got redemption for sure, and in his essence could see the path qbit paved for him as probably the best. A pure start, made me think of the beyonder's death in secret wars 2, where his energy was so strong that it created another universe somewhere in the distance of space or time or both, where sentient life grew from the fruit of his energies. In this case, it's similar as he inspires an entire universe of superheroes like someone said earlier. Good narration btw, I've honestly enjoyed your videos for quite some time and appreciate all the work you put in. should maybe try exterminators, or lucifer someday. a few other really good one was locke and key, the swamp thing vol5 with scott snyder, Curse words, rat queens, Crimson is an old image series about vampires that no one ever talks about as well. You're doing well and would never try to tell you to deviate, but I bet you would do well with narrating mangas manwas as well, especially the more obscure types. You'd probably enjoy berserk.Thanks again for your awesome work.

It was an excellent ride except the twist that weren't needed but I enjoyed the very ending.

Sweet ive been waiting for this all week! Love your videos man. The ending wasn't awful! I'd like to see the other characters and world wrap up but short and sweet I guess. Its still a great comic!

I'm basically working backwards and out of order but only watched half the series, so far. But 1 thing really bothers me. Why in the finale, would modeus/bette, about to die and had the option of possessing qubit or plutonian, why would he choose to jump into qubit's human body, rather than plutonian's super body?

The only thing I don't like about this book is they just make stuff up to solve certain situations that just don't make sense. They write themselves into something and come up with some maguffin to solve it.

Yeah, the number of Deus ex machina's used in the series is ridiculous. They always have some overly convoluted scientific way of solving every problem.

Oh so Bett Nior is dead??? So would this technically count as qubit killing someone because he did split her body apart as a way to trap Modius? Overall I really enjoyed this series and giving your thoughts.

Overall, I agree with your views on this series. However, Cary being built up as a threat and then being easily taken out wasn't really that difficult to understand. Cary's powers made him a major threat. He could protect himself from almost any threat that he saw coming. He didn't see Gil behind him with the sword. So, he was killed off because he couldn't use his powers to defend against the attack. Now, had Gil tried that head-on, Cary's powers would have protected him.

At the 6:00 mark Plutonian has 5 fingers and a thumb. Was he always like this or did someone goof and draw an extra finger? Lol

His parents had 6 fingers on each hand too, it’s on purpose and I think Danny mentioned it last volume
