5.56 is still sufficient... I wouldn't want to be on the business end of an AR.

This debate comes up Everytime some companies want people to buy more trendy products. 5.56 is cheaper to shoot compared to the trendy ammo. It's still used by numerous militaries

It's not so much the cartridge as it is the shooter. A .22lr in the right hands is way better than a big bore monster round is in the wrong hands. Secondly and probably more importantly is availability and cost. The Germans had great tanks while we had, good tanks. However we had the availability and cost advantage. I don't think the NATO round is going anywhere anytime soon.

BCA15 in 7.62x39 - right side charger, 16-inch barrel. It gets the most range work from me. Realistic MOA groups and slid to 300 yards. The Endure in .223 Wylde I have dubbed "Mr. Fudd" because of the American Black Walnut wood furniture. It is a solid performer too.

Maybe when you're running 55 grain training rounds. Get 62 grain m855a1, even then that round gets it's best ballistics out of a 20 inch barrel.

Yeah, because the military couldn't use expanding ammo, and green tips suck. M855A1 , Mk318, and Mk262 fixes the inconsistent lethality issues with military 5.56. Civilians can use bonded soft points and TSX rounds.

-- Chris from the 740 sent me. Just so you know, I don't speak for him. Feel like 5.56 is just fine for 200 meters and in. Changing with modern armies adopting mass body armor and engagement ranges (which will only extend with drones, and modern artillery). Not really a fan of the direction the Army went with the Sig either, when 6.5 Creedmoor can be minus or plussed up all over the map. But the AR with 5.56 is here to stay considering CQB. Especially if they really go heat treated case hardened. (rumor) But facing facts, it's come to the point were we have to move into battle rifle calibers, skipping intermediate, and getting creative with 5.56, which we are to great success. 6.5 Grendel I feel is a waste of money. .300 blackout, sure, but not feasible to adopt given the circumstances into the armed forces. Hunting, sport, no problem. Here's a wild thought. Be interesting if the military adopted 10mm Auto case hardened as a sidearm, considering modern light armor. Just opinions here beautiful ladies and gents.

5.56 is the go to because it’s intended target is stopped just fine with it. The debate really started with shortening the barrels for CQB and then being surprised when those same shorter barrels don’t work at longer range. As an overall platform it’s fine. Are there better rounds for longer range yep. Better rounds for shorter barrels and even better CQB, yep. But as an overall round it’s fine and will get the job done. It’s not like your hunting grizzlies with it, out if you are make sure your wingman has something to back you up.

6mm ARC and the 22 ARC but I want them both in Bear Claw fluted barrels to match the rest of my collection I have 4 6.5 Grendel uppers unfortunately Bear Creek doesn’t have them in Bear Claw fluted so I had to settle for 1 in the spiral fluted barrel so it somewhat matches

😂 BCA = Bad Choice, Amigo! I would sell it. Itll never be reliable..You could just dump it for a lil xtra $ at one of those communist gun buy-backs. Then, put that $ towards a much better upper from a more reputable company. Or atleast a company who is competent enough to respond to emails and answer their phones.

@@R.Stone281 to be honest, I’ve really enjoyed it so far but it’s only got 1500ish rounds through it. I’ve helped quite a few others with builds of bear creek uppers and have had no other problems. Function has been fine, accuracy has been fine. I knew the risk I was taking with the proprietary 9mm bufferless upper when it came to parts compatibility but it’s been good to me other than this extractor disappearing out of the bolt. Haha
@Treyzusaur
@Treyzusaur 5 ай бұрын
@@Bear_Creek_Arsenal somebody called me back yesterday actually. One question I never got an answer to though, is your 9mm blowback extractors. Are they proprietary or are they based off of/functional with anything else? Just want to know if I need replacements in the future. And before you say it, I know you have a lifetime warranty. I just don’t want to be at the mercy of your customer service if something happens again and I need replacement parts. I want backup parts on hand.

1st - Comparing the 5.56 to a Bolt gun 3006 then to handgun rounds makes ZERO sense! Even if topic is Power for 2024 Stick with AR15 or just AR platforms to be more apples to apples Define Power and what power? Power for CQB, power for hunting Elk, power for hitting steel at 1000 yards, power for Home Defense? ANSWER is = 5.56 is still the King ALL Purpose round! its great for CQB, Home Defense, hunting purpose, target shooting, its great for all these. it has enough Power for all of these purposes within reason. CQB, Home Defense absolutely, hunting varmint to deer to hogs absolutely, target shooting out to 700 absolutely.

556 and 233 are kinda weak outside of shooting varmints and training new shooters on a centerfire cartridge. It's definitely a generationally popular cartridge though. The boomers have their 30-06. The millennials have the 6.5 Creedmore, and gen X have 556 and 5.7
