Thanks! Most of the billet wheels have plenty of timing built in . The Slipstream wheel has 34 degrees. I think the ARC has 32 or so. Someone like Paul from Paul's karts with a dyno that test engines all the time might know of a situation or cam where they might need more timing, like running methanol or something. But for the average user. I think the billet wheels have plenty of timing.

That seems like a lot of work on the predator for only 41 mph. My predator is basically stock with the exception of pulling the gov. And adding an intake. But stock exhaust, and jet and stock internals and it goes 38mph. What’s the gearing on this bike?

The Predator picked up 5 miles per hour by adding 22lb valve springs. The springs that came on the Predator Hemi are super light. In this video, it was running the stock springs. I have more videos on this bike.

I think the life span is a long time but it could break at any time if you run them hard lol. Predators have been out for a long time. They are cheaper to buy. And there is a big aftermarket for them. There are Harbor freight stores everywhere. Predators are awesome! But Tillotson's are built better. The blocks are tougher. If you want to build an engine to the extreme a Tillotson block will hold it all together better. A Predator block will hold a lot of power though.

@@backyardrestorations That is one of the reasons that made me realize that the Tilly performed a lot better out of the box. The Predator was on the bike first jetted and tuned. And then I took the Predator off and installed the Tillotson without doing any tuning or jetting and it still out Performed the Predator. Imagine what it would have done if I tuned it. Predators are good engines and can be modified to be powerful but stock versus stock, I think the Tilly has a little more performance out of the box.

Im not sure. This is my first Tilley engine. I have always had Predator , Brigss and stratton and techumseh engines with Tillotson carburetors , but not the engine. I really like the Tillotson engine so far . It is really nicely built.

Thanks! The link I have on there is for an imitation VM22 Mikuni. They are easy to tune and inexpensive. They work really well on the Tillotson and predators. The authentic version VM22 will work even better if you want to spend the money. You can also use the 24MM flat slide. They work really well on the Tillotson. Not sure if you have seen my video on that. There is really no need for a bigger carb unless you're going to get radical with the engine. Ya, I would use a 6-7 ratio for sure. If you stay in that ballpark the bike will have the best of both worlds. Top speed and torque. And if you modify the engine for mor RPM, it will really fly.

I don’t think you will need a plate. On the Coleman cc100x the engine bolted to the stock mount. On the Baja racer I had to drill holes , but still used the stock mount . You won’t really know until you set it on there . Should be an easy swap .

That would be good gear if the tires weren't so tall. You could always add a smaller torque converter gear. That will help. They have an 8 tooth or a nine tooth. That will bring the RPM's back up

That's not uncommon. It takes them a while to get there but if you gear them right they will do fifty eventually. When you start modifying them that's where it starts to get fun. You can make them quick and fast. They have the RPM potential to get from 0 to 30 in a few seconds but are still able to turn enough RPM to do 50,60 or even 70MPH or more! That makes a fun bike or kart.

Ok. But I noticed the rpm on the predator wasn't very high, compared to the tilitson, this is why the top speed etc was so different. Something was quiet right on the predator. Yes the tily does make a bit more power stock, but the predator wasn't revving like it should.

Hello. I was just wondering because I just recently got a tilitson 212 and watched this video. For some reason mine only does 36 mph. My gear ratio is a 10 tooth front and a 60 tooth rear sprocket. I also I’m using a series 30 torque converter. Anything helps.

The thing that really concerns me is because I remove the governor and put a stage two on it

I got a 212 predator hemi stage 1 governor removed 12 Tooth front 75 tooth back on a monster moto 80 frame and mine does 41mph so considering you got a 60 tooth rear and governor removed that is odd
