Great video Marcel! Another advantage of ABS is that it makes the rear much more stable as there are no rear lock-ups. This means that you can use lower gears or a more aggressive setup (50% off-diff in particular) to rotate the car more, which is where I think the main pace difference comes from.

@@nuvolari.racing About 2-3 tenths I’d say, but it really depends on the track. I think places like Zandvoort and Bahrain are where it’s the strongest, and it doesnt have as big of an effect at Silverstone/Suzuka

Bisher bin ich die gesamte Zeit mit medium TC gefahren, aber durch deine Videos gewöhne ich mich momentan noch daran, aber ich merke auf jeden Fall den Vorteil ohne zu fahren. Nach diesem Video werde ich ABS wahrscheinlich erstmal noch aktiviert lassen, aber mein nächstes Ziel ist auf jeden Fall ohne Racing Line zu fahren, auch wenn das wahrscheinlich noch länger dauert. I learned to drive without ABS on the last game, but last month I switched it back on just because it's so OP. After that I instantly improved by 0.5-1 seconds per lap depending on the track, it's actually ridiculous

A great comparison that I think would be cool is, in a practice session, comparing lap by lap the tire temp/wear and overall lap pace between ABS off and on, specially in the later laps

I was a no assist user and my pb was 1:07.1 at Brazil. My mate said to run abs and I would get a 1:06, it took me 2 laps! After another 5 laps I was down to 1:06.7

In reality (and in proper sims) you can adjust abs, further helping you to drive close to limit while preventing lockups

Yeah, it’s dumb really. They should make all assists alot weaker. There should be significant punishment for anything but a beginner that’s using assists. Like at least 20% performance drop if any assist is on.

Thx for Testing! It shows exactly my experiences. I'd like to see splitted leaderboards (Assists vs. no assists) and also ranked MP should also differentiate between assists on / off. I am faster with ABS as well but do not use it. It feels weird.

Right before launching any racing games, unplug and plug back in your racing wheel. Then once in the game go to settings and make sure it recognizes a steering wheel. Might help

Deswegen gab's bei uns in der Gruppe schon richtig krach. In Liga Rennen bei nachlassendem Grip geht die Schere dann noch weiter auseinander. Mit ABS ist das Spiel ein absoluter Witz, da kannst auch Mario Kart oder Needforspeed spielen. So schönen Abend noch, hab mich über den scheiß schon oft genug Aufgeregt, kost mich nur wieder paar Lebensjahre......

And why cant they celebrate beating no assist drivers? Because ABS is faster than no ABS? Well, the game nvr has a rule that says using ABS is cheating so... If ABS is faster, no assist drivers should use it to gain more pace no? So what if ppl using ABS narrowly beat no assist drivers? League racing allows certain assists and ABS is one of them for many. So, I dont get your point. Winning is winning.

The assists in this game are ridiculous. It's been like this for many years. There should NEVER have to be any guess work as to what is faster. Assists or no assists. Codemasters need to rethink the whole assists thing. Especially traction control and abs.

Assists should always be a noticeable slowdown and used only when in the learning phase with the end goal to come off of them totally. I find most of my time practicing for league races is spent comparing my long runs using no assists and then using different selections of assists to get the fastest overall balance.

Gutes Video mal wieder. Ich finde das echt krass zu sehen das Abs schneller sein kann bzw gleich schnell. Ich finde es echt dumm von EA/Codemasters das das mit dem Abs so krass ist. Weil du teilweise in ligarennen gegen gute Abs Fahrer echt keine Chance hast. Z.b. bahrain die Downhill Kurve. Die Leute mit Abs Bremsen beim lenken sich richtig krass darein. Das ist halt mega lächerlich. Ich hoffe das wird mal besser.❤

Hope you do a longer video with really doing many laps with ABS comparing it with no ABS. Hoping for that race pace comparison video between ABS and no ABS as you mentioned But yeah ABS is disgustingly overpowered. Also as Alpumutk mentioned, ABS runners can use 50% off diff on some tracks because the rears ofc don't lockup so the car stays stable as well under braking

Ich bin immer ohne hilfen gefahren aber heute hab ich es mal an gestellt und das ist lächer ich fahre ja schon gut und kontroliere die Bremse (Controller spieler) aber das ich 6 Zehntel schneller kann nur durch das abs ist finde ich sehr lächerlich früher war man deutlich schneller wenn man es abstellt aber nun ist es das Gegenteil. :(

@@ver_letsi1548 I personally haven't tried it, but my friends use it on certain tracks and they go from being .5s slower to either matching my speed, or going even faster. One guy on controller discovered this, he used to be over a second slower with 1 lap pace, now he's literally 1s faster than everyone. And everyone else is on wheels.

BUT, without ABS it is easier to save your car from oversteering… with ABS turned on, once you start losing your car, you can’t do anything at all
