Is Aliexpress Reliable? Should I Update My New Build? - FPV Questions

4 years in the hobby and everything i got is from aliexpress, if you buy reputable brands you are 100% fine.

Referring to a bnf: I got a brand new mob 6 v2 2024 with a horrible preset on it. I think it was the pid tuning, but at first, I thought it was the gyroscope because it was just going by itself in a side. It was unflyable. After reflashing it, I was able to enjoy the feeling of a 65mm quad 😊

I've probably ordered 100 plus items on ALiexpress, 99% positive. THe refund process can be a little clunky, usually nothing wrong with what I get, just the vendor mixed up parts. I do a lot lower quality builds so it's a great option for that. Most things arrive in about 3 weeks some in 2 weeks. I tend to order accessory type items more than anything else, so props, rxs, vtxs, antennas, etc. FC's I usually get state side. But I've done the cheap 5 inch kit for like $70 USD that included FC, motors, frame, and props......and it flies great.

I use high quality resin-core solder and I never had the need for extra flux to create good solder joints. Get a good quality solder

I bought a $5 strap for dji v2s and it is so great. Very nice quality of the material.

I got a handful Frame parts for cheap. The 3d print was off on one but that’s tbd. Also got a gps module. No issue

I have 670 orders from aliexpress at the moment, had problems like 4-5 times, they always refunded the money.

I've bought 1000s (not exaggerated) and probably less than 5 transactions had issues... some of which were likely shipping issues.

Got a 10" kit from AE for about $140. Frame, FC, ESC, 900mhz ELRS tx, and 4 3115 900kv motors. No wires or hardware for the stack. ESC looks used, has old solder on the battery and motor pads. The capacitor that was included was also used 😮. Everything seems good in betaflight, but I havent built it, just plugged the stack in to betaflight. Oh also got a new set of 10" props. Frame, elrs, and motors were new. Seems worth it just for that maybe.

Rule of thumb for aliexpress : look for number of purchases and look for user reviews with pictures. Don't buy something that has no reviews and that 3 people bought in the past.

You always need to check who the seller is. It is like the EBAY of China. Banggood is like Amazon.

Aliexpress also have their own warehouses around the world and on orders you see who is shipping. Therefore it's always better (and many times cheaper) if its fulfilled by Aliexpress

I have ordered about 3 dozen items from AE and have yet to have any problems so far. Just ordered the Jumper T15 from AE for 120$ shipped and it's on a plane 24 hours later.

I just like buying from the manufacture, get more warranty and customer service, you can buy from who you want, but I have never gotten a fake from the manufacture, then again mom and pop shop need loving too , 💯everybody have to eat.

Received some damaged item from Aliexpress and they refunded them. Just take pictures or videos of the item and they refund them no other questions asked. Had an item lost in shipping from betafpv official store, requested for refund, I just sent them the message from the store saying that it is already lost after 2 months in transit and cannot be tracked. Aliexpress refunded it (not the store). I always open my Aliexpress package in front of the home camera just in case.

Also, betafpv is more responsive in Aliexpress than when contacted from the official site.

Hey I am doing my first build on a flyfish rc ATLAS an I was thinking of using the GEPRC TAKER G4 AIO - G4 FC + 45A 2-6S ESC - 25x25 With flash 1804 2450kv motors will be using the 03 air unit I have the DUAL antenna for 2.4 and 5.8 with the flyfish rc m10 gps my props are the hq t4x2x3 am I missing anything or any suggestions?? Please get back too me

I buy probably 90% percent of my drone parts from AliExpress and probably a lot over 100 items. I have only had problems with dead product or missing items maybe 3 - 4 times but always got a refund. You just got to use some common sense and check the seller rating and how long he has been operating. If the seller just opened month ago and has 3 sales and no reviews, don't buy from that seller, buy from the store that opened 5 years ago and has sold thousands with good ratings and reviews.
