It's hard to be under a microscope all the time. I challenge any of us to be above reproach at all times. More important is your humor, your honesty, and the way you allow your kids to be honest about their food preferences. We have a lot more in common with your family than we do with someone with a very idealized, curated, aesthetic channel. Still, I like Pick Up Limes, and Andrew Bernard for recipes that we enjoyed, even after editing to meet WFPB.

Jeremy, I think you handled the 'chewing' comment very tactfully. However, based on the conversations this opened up I would avoid ever openly responding to these people. Your channel direction sounds lovely and your family is lovely! Keep up the good work.

And yes, that "Oh, damn!" moment is truly priceless, especially when the kids are impressed with something new. Noted on the air fryer video! The Family Favourite Cookbook is perfect selection . The cookbook reviews & critiques are really really fun(& hopefully not to expensive). Hi Denise, New Year’s greetings right back to you from across the pond! Thank you so much for your kind words-it’s wonderful to know we’ve got a fellow WFPB SOS-free friend tuning in all the way from Dublin. I’m so glad you’re enjoying the recipes and finding them entertaining and approachable. It’s exactly what we aim for! And thank you for the love on the cookbook reviews-they are definitely fun to make (and not expensive at all - we get the books from the library mostly!). Aquafaba is such a game-changer once you get into it! I totally get how being solo can make quantities tricky, but the good news is it freezes well. You can portion it out into an ice cube tray, freeze it, and just grab a cube or two when you need it. No waste, no hassle! Thanks for being part of this little community we’ve built, and cheers to a delicious, happy, and healthy 2025! All the best, Jeremy & the PB With J family 😊

Bought a multicooker that includes an airfryer. I think it's great. I often use the airfryer but I use it also to make a quick pasta, putting everything in at the same time (pasta, canned tomatoes, (frozen) vegetables ....) and at the same time put mushrooms and onions on top to be air fried) . Also baked bread in it.

@carolannmartin79816 күн бұрын
Yes, please to an Air Fryer video. I recently gave away my Instant Pot because after 6 tries of using it I had burn messages, it over flowed all over my counter top when I tried to cook some chickpeas. My potatoes turned out like mush cooked in the Instant Pot. I didn’t like the taste of cooked soups in the Instant Pot as apposed to slow cooking the soup on the stove. I followed recommended cooking times so that wasn’t the issue. This is ok because I’m retired so I don’t need things to cook quickly. I tried to give it to my daughter-in-law but she said by the time it reaches the right pressure it doesn’t really save much time. I love my air fryer and it sits on my counter top even though I don’t like clutter. I use it almost daily so I would love to find other ways to use it even more. I don’t need any fancy, complicated recipes. I went Whole Foods Plant Based 4 years ago after 25 years of being vegetarian. Like a lot of people the reason I didn’t make this change was because of cheese. I was addicted to it but found several delicious ways to enjoy vegan cheese ie. nutritional yeast, cheese sauces. When I started out Whole Food Plant Based I made simple and delicious recipes which made me wonder why I hadn’t been eating like this my whole life. Then I got obsessed with complicated vegan recipes that required so many ingredients and these were ingredients I didn’t have so I would purchase them but then forget what I purchased them for. This is when I understood why people think becoming vegan is expensive. Fast forward to 1 year ago and I went back to the simple recipes with whole foods, few ingredients which most people have in their refrigerator, freezer or pantry. Tomorrow I am going to grocery shop at Food Basics (this is a Canadian grocery store). A 5 pound bag of Russet is on sale for $1.24, a 2 pound bag of onions is on sale for $1.24, a 2 pound bag of carrots is on sale for $1.24 and Fuji apples are 88 cents a pound ( I bought 4 and it came to $1.45) I will also pick up the Sunrise extra firm tofu for $1.88 a package and will probably buy 4 packages. This whole purchase will total $12.69. That’s a lot of food for $12.69. So please don’t tell me becoming vegan is expensive. Thank you Jeremy and family (I was going to type everyone’s names but I was afraid I would misspell them). I always look forward to your videos every week. Wishing all of you the best in 2025. ❤️
@pbwithjeremy8 күн бұрын
Hi Carol Ann! Thanks for such a thoughtful and detailed comment-I loved reading it. It sounds like you’ve really nailed the balance between simplicity and deliciousness with your Whole Food Plant-Based journey, and I completely agree that it doesn’t have to be expensive. Your grocery haul is the perfect example of how affordable it can be to eat nourishing, plant-based meals-what a steal! I hear you on the Instant Pot struggles. It’s such a versatile tool, and I’m definitely adding an air fryer video to my to-do list. I’ll make sure to keep the recipes simple and approachable-just like the kind of cooking you’ve mastered. Also, I totally relate to the "ingredient overload" phase! It’s so easy to get caught up in trying every complicated recipe out there, but there’s nothing like returning to the basics and realizing how satisfying simple, whole-food meals can be. Thank you so much for your support and kind words! It means the world to know you’re looking forward to the videos each week. Sending you and your family all the best for 2025-and enjoy those fantastic grocery deals! 😊❤️

Happy New Year to you and the fam!!! Love your farmhouse, would definitely see that as a natural transition in the future. I would love to hear which YTubers you quit watching...but I know you can't do that, LOL!! I probably have done much the same. Love Derek Simnett too!! Made Woolies chocolate tart for Christmas and my family loved it!!

Ha. I COULD tell you - but I just want to focus on the positive. That tart is AWESOME. Glad your family dug it!!!

Yes! Cinnamon rolls! I make a vegan version (not gluten free ) that I have gradually reduced some of the fat but they are not WFPB.

More and more I tend to just "eyeball" measurements. I just use my intuition for when to stop. Your body needs different things at different times in different amounts, so I just listen within for what I need in the moment when cooking or looking for inspiration for accompaniments. Following a recipe verbatim locks you into a certain taste and nutritional ingestion, but may not be optimal in each moment it is created. Plus the variance allows unique flavor combinations and can keep things from getting into a rut if it is a staple meal/in constant rotation. I usually resort to recipes if there is a new cuisine being tried out, or the desire to experience something as a foundation or standard (but even there you can find multiple differing recipes for a dish, so you still have wiggle room and not an "only one way" situation). Sounds like good plans ahead. Holding a space for the highest good.

It sounds like you’ve found such a freeing and intuitive approach to cooking-there’s something really special about listening to your body and letting your creativity guide you. Recipes are definitely great as a foundation, but the way you describe adding your own spin keeps things fresh and exciting. I love the idea of embracing variance to avoid getting stuck in a rut, especially with staple meals. Thanks for sharing your perspective-it’s such a great reminder that cooking can be as fluid and adaptable as we need it to be. Holding a space for the highest good feels like a beautiful mindset for both the kitchen and beyond. Wishing you many delicious and inspired moments ahead! 😊

YES please--to the GF cinnamon bun recipe! The farmhouse is so lovely and likely holds many stories and memories. Hope your dream to live there comes true! But I love your kids, so no rush. Thank you for another interesting video! Hope to see you and Derek Sarno (and Frankie and Rufus and Velma) collaborate-that would be amazing!

I honestly never noticed the chewing … maybe I will now 😂 Thanks for sharing the channels you follow, several were new to me. And I always thought Canadians used metric measures for cooking, huh! If you evolve into homesteading at the farm I’d love some gardening content (assuming you will be growing things). Carry on! 🌱

I’d love an episode of your chopped basket meals (the odds and ends improv meals). Maybe collect a month’s worth of those and share what you make?

Have you ever used soy curls? I had a “creamy chikn” dinner using soy curls (recipe from The Full Helping blog). Now I’m just eating spoonfuls of peanut butter with mini chocolate chips 🙈

I have - Woolie and Annie don't love the texture, sadly.

Yes on the air fryer I have a Ninja oven that has air fryer is that just as good to use?
@pbwithjeremy13 күн бұрын
I'm sure that's a solid air fryer - I just like a wide basket personally - but there's lots of great options out there!
