He seems like a very insecure person, that tries hard to come off as someone better than he sees himself as. And also when it comes to the risky behavior, I don't know if he has ADHD, but people with that should not be drinking and doing drugs, because it really triggers irresponsible behaviors, trust me I know, I always end up doing so much stupid shit when I get drunk that I'd never do when sober and that I regret so badly the next day, like you become a totally different person. His facial expressions were a bit strange and he always had this look in his eyes like something just wasn't quite right with him. Maybe dead inside or personality disorder. I am not a fan of Piers Morgan, but I did appreciate that Mr. Morgan's interview style was blunt and direct. At this point the ex-girlfriend and Armie Hammer have both come to a reality that each can live with. Probably neither remembers it 100%. With no criminal conviction or active case against Armie Hammer along with the information that ex-wife considers him a friend and co-parent, he can probably re-enter the entertainment industry. He would be smart to start very slowly in very small roles or even consider behind the camera work such as writing or producing. If his fame and success return, maybe this time, he can get it right.

Since I'm not professional I'll can say that a lot of what he said when it came to accepting the blame for himself seemed coached. Not coached as in a publicist. He spoke as though he had been to rehab and learned to speak that way about himself. Similarly to when you are in a religion and learn to speak the way the congregation that you attend speaks. It doesn't mean that he was lying but I saw that as a bit inauthentic, as in, these were not his words. But the rest of the interview, I perceived as him being very authentic. He was being honest and he was having to bite the bullet and face the full force of his publicly exposed sexual proclivities. I'm so very sorry that he had to go through this. This is why people who engage in kinks feel the need to keep it underground because of adverse public outcry. Plus, it sounds like he picked the wrong mates to play with.

One thing that seems to be forced on him by piers and it’s a common thread in many things lately, is the thought that someone can say “yes” but actually be uncomfortable and want to stop. And as a woman, I vehemently disagree that anyone should be forced to mind read. If she says yes, she means yes. Remember, if you expect someone to mind read and figure out you want to stop if you say yes, then the same must be expected that you say no but mean yes. It a double edged sword that should never be used in the first place.
@subliminal-damage3 ай бұрын
I agree, with a few obvious exceptions. If she had a g+n pointed at her head and said yes, obviously that can't be a yes. If she's drunk, don't risk it. I'm female as well but I get tired of people being exposed and cancelled for just less-than-perfect relationships, or being expected to mind read. There's a big difference between coercive, threatening, abusive relationships and relationships that are just less than perfect.
@LykaFoxbriar3 ай бұрын
Coerced yes's can happen- as someone who was in a situation where I experience this as a young adult unfortunately it can happen. It can come from power dynamics(he's famous if I say no I'll be ruined), guilt, or fear (My case was a threat of self-harm that was worded in a way that made me feel responsible if I didn't agree) unfortunately we don't know what these accusations/negotiations looked like without the lens of what each side is saying but it *can* happen, does happen, and for a normal relationship clear continuous enthusiastic consent is the key, so checking in, esp in BDSM cases clarifying to your partner that you want to know them/their needs/their lines and what those look like. It's unfortunately complicated with famous folks. We're seeing that more especially now in the YT/Creator space of people who are super well known directly interacting with fan spaces that becomes risky and worse.

Honestly; I believe the guy. As a woman who has been presented with similar circumstances; I feel like there’s a degree of accountability that a woman needs to take with speaking up about things she is uncomfortable with. If a person is not forcing something on you and you tell that person you enjoy it and play along with those fantasies; then why do we only hold him accountable for not knowing what she “really wanted“. How does that even seem fair or right? I know some women will argue with me on this topic that they can be manipulated into saying they like something but as a survivor of a severe DV marriage ( my ex husband is in prison for 25 yrs for kidnapping rape and torture on me after I left) I will say without a doubt that I was still very capable of knowing and expressing what my sexual interests were. They may have been times I tried something I probably otherwise wo😅in order to please him; but that in itself doesn’t mean the opposing party is abusive. That doesn’t mean he should have known what I meant rather than what I said. I am a strong advocate for women, women’s rights and survivors of DV but too often this topic is used as a weapon or tool to seek revenge or get back at a man rather than what it really is; and it makes people skeptical of true survivors because of this. That type of behavior is manipulative in itself and I don’t stand or agree with women who do that. Two consenting adults under no intimidation make their own decisions. You can’t go back and claim otherwise because you regret it all of a sudden now that you’re no longer together. But I digress. That is solely my opinion on this.
@Tati_2572 ай бұрын
I firmly believe he’s being 100% genuine. I understand he’s an actor but forget the interview…look at the facts. Charges dropped by one who would not sign a sworn statement and no charges pressed by the other two. That says all that’s needed to know about what the truth is. We’ve all seen interviews with real guilty people who have ALL the media training and know ALL the right lines to say but their narcissism, dishonesty etc still seep through even if it’s as subtle as can be. This was not that. And being an incredible actor on a set does not mean people can act that well in truly very stressful and emotional situations for them.
@beanybabyrabie3 ай бұрын
She refused to sign the affidavit or release her messages with him. She was a consenting and willing participant until she realized he didn’t want to be with her and she couldn’t benefit. Funny how that doesn’t apply when it’s a man with more taboo kinks. He was rich and famous. That in itself changes everything.

Just because he doesn’t feel like he did anything wrong doesn’t mean that’s reality. She may have gone along with things because it was a toxic relationship and she was keeping the peace and doing it to keep him pacified to be safe. There are abusers who do not see reality the same way their partner does, in their world they aren’t abusive and their partner is into it and participating or they’re justified in any behavior towards their partner. In some relationships women will give consent, but it’s under coercion (which can be more subtle than it sounds) or to keep peace. Even though they consent outwardly, inside it’s a different story. Unless you live it you might not understand the weight and reality of it. So I can’t say I believe him fully. But how can we if we don’t know what really happened? Because his memory might not be the same as hers, but that doesn’t mean she’s lying, either.

Jeffrey Dahmer literally had the same fantasy 😐 he said he wanted them to be a part of him forever. Armie isn't denying indulging in the things the women are saying, he just claims they enjoyed everything. He might not have gone to the level of making the fantasy of eating someone a reality but he was definitely pushing the boundaries on that. (Who knows if he actually haven't tho) Armie is rich, talented, handsome and charming tho so I guess it's easier to believe everyone is lying but him.

Do larger gestures sometimes mean more emphasis rather than more awareness/controlled? I'm not a body language analyst, but to me his headshakes while talking about BDSM come across as emphatic, large movements because he's trying to get across "No. You're wrong. No. You/the world does not understand. No. I wasn't hurting people. No." When I think about someone nodding really exaggeratedly (while being honest), it's often in times where they are really emphasizing something. Marriage proposal responses are a good example of the really exaggerated nod in earnest. The person saying 'yes' is not lying, but their body movement is VERY obvious and overt.

I've been following this scandal from the start because it all sounded almost surreal, but since I'm a great supporter of protecting and believing victims of SA, I was prepared to believe the ex-lover or lovers. However, immediately from the start things that mainly Effie was saying on social media were not really adding up. The timelines were all wrong, she kept changing the story, adding weird details etc. ... so after a while I was sure she was making up 90% of what happened. Moreover, she has been and still is on social media so much and so obviously harvesting attention and pity that most of what she says makes even less sense. Anyway, thank you for an interesting break-down of this interview. I felt very, let's say vindicated, when watching the interview because most of the things he talked about openly in it was something that I had suspected all along and made much more sense than the stories of the "accusers". It's amazing that without not much prior knowledge of this scandal, you made the same conclusions just from watching this in-depth and difficult interview.
@The_Tortoise_and_the_Hare3 ай бұрын
lol dude, I followed her for the tea since I had a thing for him back then, and this was before the whole scandal, and she was obsessed with him, all gloating and sharing private messages and I think she changed her tune when he wanted to end the relationship with her because all of a sudden she started sharing lots of messages where her stuff was taken out and yeah, because at the start she was not saying anything bad she was showing us all how much he was into her and she loved it. I think maybe she wanted his wife to come by her page and then he'd have to leave his wife but yeah, for us who saw her posts from the start know that she was begging him for certain things

So, I'm at 1:01 where he's outlining her desire to create a SA scenario. I can't speak to having that particular kink, however as a victim of SA both in my childhood and adulthood, I can somewhat understand the premise of creating a replication of a situation your agency and autonomy was removed, but have every detail something in which you DID have agency and autonomy. Perhaps even at the moment of 'culmination' as it were, she takes control and has the situation END where a victim would otherwise not be able to do that. I don't know if this is what happened, for her or him, and it is not my place to speculate but I felt it was a possibility enough to add this potentially other point of view.

The thing is, to regular folks who are maybe a little bit kinky but nothing more, this may seem shocking. But even extreme kink is just fantasy, and this is the difference. He said there were safe words. I don't see any problem with this situation if the sub used the safe words and he respected them as he says he did. I know about the kink world and people would be very surprised what fantasies seemingly normal people have. Sometimes there is a psychological reason for it, sometimes not, as he says. I think if someone thinks about suicide, this deserves compassion. He has been humiliated and exposed on an absolutely epic, monumental level. I think he deserves a second chance. It is however concerning to have fantasies about eating people whether he has done it or not. I understand that he was on drugs but that doesn’t mean those desires aren’t concerning. Just because you do drugs doesn’t mean that excuses everything after you get sober, what you did inebriated. You need to take responsibility for the harm you caused on those drugs even though you were on them. It is the same mentality as mental illness doesn’t mean you get to be an asshole.

@jessidurmis I think there is a difference between expressing concern and shaming. But often they take it as an attack and call it shaming. From my understanding kinks can come from trauma but also be genetic. I am not expert though. For me, there are something’s that shouldn’t be considered kinks, like extreme age play (like pretending to be someone who can’t consent, example adult and child. I am talking like roleplay not like using name like girl, baby girl, daddy etc) or consensual non consensual. Especially for consensual non consensual if someone want to be the victim they could be wanting to relive in a way a trauma. For example, in Baby Reindeer (from the best of my memory) the lead Donny puts himself in dangerous sexual situations almost wanting to relive his sexual assault (I am pretty sure he says that, something like that at least). But it makes sense, your mind wants to process but doesn’t know how. Other then that as long at people are honest with their partners and feel safe especially communicating, and it is 100% consensual without deceit who am I to judge. But I don’t think BDSM is bad itself and even if they do get treated they might just like it. In fact, from my personal research in terms of sex education women are more aroused by a variety of things compared to men and from my conversation with women, kinky. Also, I have never heard of cannibalism bdsm, I thought it was just a sexual deviance. Though I am open to being wrong. I just think there is a moral line socially and your own line. Edit: sorry for the monologue, sexual education and sexual deviance/the psychology of sex has been a special interest of mine for years (I am autistic). So I am like talking about it and have been recently been thinking about this. Also, there is a difference between fantasy and what you want to do in real like. Like someone may like the fantasy of something pretty hardcore but doesn’t want to do it. Also, there is also wetness that is naturally wired to arouse everyone which is why people like seeing people wet. Like your partner could be more attractive after the shower, wet.

So the issue of having a weird fantasy of eating her versus actually doing it. Yeah. That fantasy is concerning. And the women bringing this all out may have served as a check to prevent him from acting on it. The two full interviews I watched with two separate women he seems to have believed he was untouchable, which makes it very dangerous. If he is still under psychiatric care (and dear Lord I hope so and that it is a GOOD therapist) he may have been saved from himself and others saved from him. His family dynamic is SO toxic-it’s like the worst things you have heard-if you haven’t watched the doc, do, it’s horrifying. Having everything makes you bored with everything and if you are not mentally stable, you will go to extremes to not be bored. We see it in actors and rich business people again and again, and they are not all psychopaths. It’s why some wealthy parents refuse to give their kids everything-it’s actually caring for them. I say, Eat The Rich, but I don’t mean that as a compliment nor literally. This involves coercive control, and we do not have laws against that and that MUST change. It would help stop cult leaders, abusive bosses, abusive parents, abusive partners, etc. Put it out there, folks, demand it from your legislators. A great example is Mica’s Law-a proposed law being pushed for because of Mica Miller’s death. ♥️✌️🗳️🟦🗳️🟦🗳️🟦
