The F2G was a crazy good free pickup. i haven't bothered with a BP vehicle since the BV155 Then, Gaijin being Gaijin, realised that they were being too generous, and they found a way to squeeze more grind out of the playerbase (some BP challenges needlessly exclude air sim players) for weaker rewards or reskins of old rewards, and now it's gotten so bad, there's no point trying anymore.

While it would be nice to have a balanced reward system, im assuming they're doing it this way because ground forces are the money maker for the game and If they keep doing tanks they're eventually going to run out of shiny new vehicles to add to the big updates (and believe me, they're getting close to it). No new vehicles means no more big updates, which in turn means revenue goes down due to the game being perceived as dying. They're doing the equivalent of padding out the run time of a movie, except when it's over the game will start its decline. TLDR gaijin is trying milk war thunder hard for as long as possible by doing it this way

No the battlepass is NOT worth it. We used to have 4 vehicles that could be reasonably obtained, now we get only 2 vehicles while needing to do an absurd level of grinding each day. The vehicles would be worth it if almost every single one they did weren't copy-pastes of stuff we already have. My most hated change were the introduction of rolling expiration dates for all of the battle pass challenges. It used to be that I could mostly take a break from war thunder for several weeks, and then I could just binge the game for a weekend by speed running multiple challenges at the same time.

Lets also not forget the early seasons gave you the free coupon to sale your vehicles on the marketplace once you collected them. Now you have to get to a extremely high level to get a coupon to sale it.

as somebody that plays dead by daylight a lot, the battlepass in wt feels like a joke in both games it costs the same, the level to get the next battlepass for free is 125 in wt iirc and 69 or 70 in DbD, the main/max reward in wt ist lvl 70, in dbd its 85 you get roughly the same amount of time for both, but the levels are a lot easier to grind in dbd, the main reward in wt battlepass is 4/3/2 vehicles + wb, of which 1 vehicle + maybe warbond is f2p, in dbd you get skins of which roughly a third are f2p, to grind in wt you need to log in daily, do your daily tasks, do battlepass missions which are situational are not all doable by newer players that dont have multiple nations started, and most if not all grind methods are locked by time, you either grind them while available or get fkd, in dbd you get levels passively by playing, with double progress on first match per day per role, and an occasional log in reward that is not tied by if you have logged in everyday or just that specific one. the main source of levels are 4 pages of special mission with lore entries of which roughly 40% are for one of 2 roles with the rest being available to both, each mission gives you at least half a bp level + about one match worth of grind currency to advance your charachters vehicles in war thunder have a chance of also having a coupon upgrade so you can sell/purchase it on the marketplace, where half the playerbase donteven have acces to, prices vary between under 5$ and over 100$, battlepass skins in dbd release rougly half a year to a year later in the standard shop, where they are available to all players, locked behind a very grindy f2p currency. the bp in war thunder is not cheap, it doesnt give you the best rewards, its not easy to grind, and it feels like its purpose is just to empty the pockets of the playerbase

Wow I'm early. Also no. The last BattlePass with the kungstiger, the only vehicle I even kind of wanted, gave me burnout in the middle of it and I haven't played since. The grind of it is huge and having to actually get specific goals during the gameplay makes it significantly less fun. The rewards are not even worth the time. IMO.

Same tbh, the BPs are just too much pain honestly when it comes to certain challenges they give you (mainly naval ones cause grinding to get a tier 3 naval craft is just pain for coastal (no clue on bluewater), I barely managed to go for Kungstiger and still i missed out on T14 in WB shop due to how special tasks can be stupidly hard to do sometimes.. As for Events thats a whole another story...only event i did succesfully (or rather getting almost 2 vehicles) is Winter Extreme 2023.

For Naval there was the Pr183-BM1 that was great or the Zippo flamme thrower boat (almost useless but original like the Churchill AVRE). There are so many opportunitirs for unique naval vehicle and Gaijin prooved it in the past but they gave up probably because it wasn't worth the ressource to spend on Naval.

There are massive bluewater battleships in War Thunder Mobile, modelled at pretty decent quality. Submarines are also there. Clearly it's possible to make them fast, and Gaijin actually has them to a degree.... They just want to prioritize their microtransaction-ridden cash cow that is War Thunder Mobile.

The Israel HE Boom Stick has the same Muzzle Velocity as the M109 (all Versions), even the German with the short Barrel has the same as the A1 Variant from the US with the longer Gun. I stick with the Type 99, that MV is insane

I have been doing the War Bonds challenges for years and years. Relatively recently I started a YT channel that chronicled my War Bonds/Battle pass grind. This season's War Bonds rewards aren't bad. I'm hoping to get the Soviet A-20G-30. I already have the Pz-IVJ but if I have to settle for the Finnish Fokker D.XXI which will probably get used. I have zero interest in the PBM, but as it's free, I'll have that too.

The battlepass is one of the few things that will get me back on warthunder, when I see how bad the rewards are it tells me that I wont be playing warthunder until atleast the next one. I cant do the tech tree grind anymore, its not worth it to play for 3 days straight to get a single vehicle and the BP was one of the few reasons I would sometimes get back on to unlock something.

I really want more vehicles like the BV-155, if BP's are something you gotta buy to get all the goodies from, then the rewards should be these incredibly unique and weird vehicles. Like, the 155 isn't particularly good, it climbs like doo-doo despite being meant for high altitudes, but it's UNIQUE. Also yeah, the David was a Red-Tail C mustang, which is a good plane... EXCEPT the Swedish version is the ONLY variant that doesn't get the good Incendiary Tracers for some reason.

It actually climbs okay at altitude where other planes around it's BR fall off.... infact at altitude it's made for it's pretty fast. Weird plane but I love it. Best fighter around that BR for Germany IMO. If you have speed built up (slow accel/roll(sort of) is it's main weakness), you can stick with any of the fast planes as it's max speed is same. The advantage is you have that speed AND can out-turn japanese planes and even many biplanes. Never really enjoyed 109s/etc felt like inferior thunderbolt to me.

LOL, are people really surprised? It was clear from the start that it would go like that. Hook people in by a crazy good deal at the start and then slowly reduce the offerings. Also, if one thinks about it... Gaijin would have had to continue developing 4 vehicles for 625GE (or at least 1 for free), instead of selling them as much greater than that premiums or so. That said, personally and looking at it still with some business view, the 3 vehicles with the vehicles being variants of vehicles

The answer is NO unless there is an incredible vehicle as the main reward. We have had incredible rewards in the past. The PT76 57 as you mentioned was probably the best one ever. The French EBR 1963 from season 4 was incredible, probably my second favorite. The Japanese A6M6c also from season 4 was incredible. These are examples of battle pass vehicles that even to this day perform at the highest level of their BRs and in some cases seem OP even now. With them reducing it down to 3 vehicles, I was already refusing to buy it unless there was something incredible or extremely special for some other reason. Now, with 2 vehicles, this is a super hard sell.

I have all of those vehicles. The PT is BR'd to a point it's just another tank with a decent cannon for flanking. The EBR is good (I have an investment one as well for obvious reasons, tripled money being best EBR, WOT new comers etc and no more made) but HEAT/volumetric is only downside sometimes with it. The Pakwagen was also an excellent BP reward as was the LVT-4/40 which also is now BR'd to 'okay'. It also lost scouting which is shit. A6 I ended up selling. You have to want to play Japan air. THey aren't worth much today so can't be 'meta' I guess. The recent french TOA 50/90 being pushed to BR8 was unforgivable, especially when the literal superior Somua is 7.7 to. Will not be buying another BP again due to this and their other greed let alone the shit rewards. Get fucked. If I really want it I'll get it off marketplace.

I don't mind copy paste vehicle for BP but I think gaijin should make the BP more rewarding or worth grinding by adding premium times(free and paid), more silvers, more higher boosters. the idea of a BP should be to get 300 - 400% more value than the amount you paid but for a bit of your time.

Out of every vehicle the only ones I didn't get was the t10a which I don't regret not getting considering there's the is3 is4m and is6 at 7.0 to 7.7 we don't need another long reloading 122. The strike master which I wish I had gotten is a great ground strike/Cas plane, however the plane this time around feels copy and paste and the artillery vehicle is new yeah sure velocity sucks and it's huge but for the longest time and I mean for years there weren't any artillery tanks in the game so I like seeing more artillery coming into the game and it'll be a fun artillery tank just like the rest of them.

Personally, I stopped about 2 years ago to care too much about grinding top tier. Instead I do all daylies and specials, challenges for the BP, except those that involve ships, if I can. My only care is to get to lvl 125 to get both coupons to buy next BP. Actually I bought only the first BP, all the others came for free. Never bought the "Improved BP". Oh and also I try to get as many vechicles, bushes and stuff from WB shop. This season I also feel that Gaijin lowered the value of BP. P.S.Lucky me I don't do much naval events, so I'll get the TKA-106 ship as a collecting item.

I said years ago that 4 vehicles per pass at the rate they were going wasn't going to be sustainable, and that 3 would be pushing - not without *A LOT* of basically clones - be it in another nation, a one off/rare modification, or even just some special camo related to an event/pilot/unit/etc. So - I have no qualms with the fact they are down to 2 vehicles, and like the fact that the third is going to be from previous things with no sellable coupon - though I'd like to see it expanded to ones that did have coupons to get the market under control because some of those people selling them are insane. There's a bunch of boosters, extra war bonds to get even more in that shop, etc. Is it amazing - no, but I wouldn't really say it's that terrible considering the price - least compared to the BP price of some other games, or the BP that's not called a BP. I do however have issues with the fact that the box is RNG so if maybe you want Z25 over a coastal boat you have to hope RNG is on your side, and that if you have all of them, you don't automatically get GE of some amount. Those two things I'd like to change - but it's unlikely. Also - especially among some of the larger classes (in terms of number of ships) there is actually a number of variations as they realized at times something could/should be better or changed, sometimes small like adding an extra 20 mm gun or completely different AA suite or armament setup. Then you have evolution over time which can be shown through various ships - such as say Arizona being very much the earlier version of the Pennsylvania class, with PA being upgraded with more modern secondary DP guns and AA on par with later built ships. The 4 Iowa's could easily be 4 different ships between original build/design, one of the later refits or even just the next 3 in class as built, then later refits. So for example - Iowa - original build with 15 quad 40 mm guns and 60 single 20 mm guns NJ - Lets say it's the end of war build that most of them had - 20 quad 40 mm, 8x twin 20 mm, 32x single 20 mm, newer radar suite and all. MO - more Radar upgrades, Helicopters instead of sea planes, couple more 40 mm's and all the single 20 mm's replaced with twins, etc WI - one of the even later builds where they were adding things like missiles and PHALANX Or MO being the first of a later build and WI maybe being even closer to when they retired. Some classes even had ships basically, or in the case of a couple US DD's literally, rebuilt from the ground up with whole new designs, looking different completely from what they were initially. Your biggest issue with naval right now is the full on WTF of the in particular Bluewater tree designs where DD's are compacted in to (at least in Arcade) 3.3-5.0, cruisers between 5.0 and 7.0, and 7.0+ being mostly Battlecruisers and Battleships. Which has them putting late - post war DD's against early/pre war planes, some BB's and cruisers with almost no AA against late war planes, and some ships given abilities or the like they shouldn't have in the configuration that's in game (I forget the name but the 8 gun DD leader the US has with the I believe 5'/51 guns should only be able to fire at ships, the class didn't gain DP AA till ships had main battery funs changed out).

Been thinking this for a while. They have all kinds of Russian planes that are associated with aces, and a few US/British planes as well. Wetmore’s P-51, Dolgushin’s La-7, Predergast’s Spitfire etc. If they want to expand the Battlepass vehicle pool to vehicles like Wittman’s Tiger or Hartmann’s Me-109, Poole’s Sherman etc I’d be ok with that. A couple of original or unique vehicles and then a couple of premium copy/paste vehicles that are associated with ace or war legends would be just fine.

@@Ancient53 Especially with some of the things already pushed in as premiums or the trees - a couple new/unique vehicles per pass I'd say is unlikely, and untenable. Unless you count something such as a 'short nose' F-11A (F11F-1 in game) as 'unique' - as I believe the in game one is the later longer nose version. Or unless we go from projects that at least had a prototype built or the like to some of the purely paper ones like what the 'World of' games do which at last check would divide this community given some of the other 'what if's' already in game and how some reacted to it. More likely it'd be a unique - lets say the Vought XF5U as a complete original, Wittman's Tiger as a copy/paste, and then slot three like this BP would be previous event/BP/premium ships/boats in a box (preferably with a choice instead of RNG if your missing more than one). With them alternating what's new, copy, and old reward in each one so the next is say new tank, copy ship, old plane, then new ship, copy plane, old tank. It drastically extends how many battle passes they can do with brand new vehicles of all types, it lessens the load of how many new things they have to build from the ground up, and the key thing to them (that could also change things so that the copy paste/old reward are free and only the new is on the paid BP) is that it would drastically reduce how much it costs them to do the battle pass in the first place and make them more money.

I logged on and completed two daily tasks for the entire duration of the last pass to get the Kungstiger. I completed all of the seasonal objectives and numerous special tasks. So explain to me why I have to put an additional $15 into the fkn pass to get enough points for the title? it's ridiculous.

Battle passes are hit and miss for me. Some were good, some were bad. What I miss out more on are Event Vehicles and those we know, Gaijin won't put out for free. I know their game model. You want old event vehicle? Loot boxes or Marketplace is for you. That's how they make money too. I missed out on tons of great vehicles :/. (IS-7 :(:(:()

Worst part was if you were a France player, the recent 50/90 was great, then they pushed it to BR8 while leaving the superior Somua at 7.7. Now at BR8 in upteir you face T50 series tanks with LRF and ERA that one shot you very quickly at 1km+ xD Why would I be stupid enough to buy BP again when gaijin clearly disrespects even recent paying customers and ruins the game for noobs to waste money in top tier premiums they can't use. I'm same as you, started playing around 1st battlepass. Sadly I missed most of it except some of the decals as I didn't understand it and stupid rank 1-2 restrictions they have. They have just gotten much and much worse and far less widely appealing, only to mains/players of specific countries. E.g. Strikemaster was great for me as a Britain player. I main Germany, UK, FR mostly.

This will be the 1st BP i'm gonna skip. The PBM and the nuke launcher is free, (obviously i have all 4 naval reward already), and the top reward is garbage (its a SPH so automatically shit). Not to mention the ongoing mini-event for the Albatros is also a copy/paste (i noticed almost no difference with my tech tree version) and after the class got recently nerfed from 3.7 to 4.0 its basically became useless, do to the OP russian costal boats it always gonna face on 4.3. Maybe the next F-14 gonna be better, but farming it might be too difficult for how much time i have playing the game/day!

Consider this, I log in every day (which gives BP score that increases the longer your streak this BP Season). Combine that with the occasional gaming session. I get the Level 50 free vehicle every season without paying a dime. I have gotten five vehicles this way, essentially doing nothing. In my opinion; the battlepass was never worth it at all. It arbitrarily restricts player access to vehicles; cool, the Strikemaster is currently $51, but is that a good thing? Welcome to the year 2030, you want to use this cool piece of history; hand over your entire paycheck because very few people have a coupon for it anymore & we decided to paywall it for no good reason.

I understand the snail is running a business and it has become 100% about $$$ (i feel it used to be a mix of actually caring/being proud of having created one of the best games & making a living... not anymore). But how much is Gaijin making by reducing the quality of the BP? A year from now, there will be a board meeting where they all discuss they don't understand why the BP stopped selling. And one last thing you didn't mention: how much work it takes to grind out a Full BP (some tasks are easy some require to incredibly unlikely stuff to complete.) It can be a lot of time.

if you want the crocodile for the flame thrower sure, but otherwise you can get the churchil in the tech tree which is the same vehicle without the flame thrower. the A-1H is a way better AD-4. If you really need a strike aircraft for 6.3, the 150 dollar price tag is gonna hurt, so id just suck it up and use the AD-4 as a replacement

Gotta admit, im not a battle pass user, and even i can see that this years BP is an absolute shambles, the naval reward for naval players is just an insult. Hopefully we dont end up heading the direction we did before the review bomb and all that malarky.
