Before the “woke” trend, the saying “I don’t see color” only meant one thing: “I don’t judge you by the color of your skin; I just think of you as a fellow human whose culture and skin color might be different than mine, but it’s not something I focus on”. Personally, I went to a very diverse high school almost 30 yrs ago. While we were quite aware of who was white, black, Hispanic (back then we said Mexican), we never thought much about it, nor did we care. We were all like family. Our only rivals were other schools. Not once did any of us ever whine about inequality or racism. Now there is a race war going on at my old school. The kids have segregated themselves and there’s no longer unity or “school spirit”. The school even recently changed its name after 50 yrs because the original was named after a Confederate mailman. No one thought about before it or even cared when I was a student there. What has caused this regression? The answer: Race baiting politicians and their propaganda media outlets. They depend on our divisive tribalism to stay in power and keep power over us. If ever we unite, they will fail to ultimately subjugate us.

Same as I grew up. But it’s like they can’t have people improve so they set everybody up over and over like you said for intentionally division agendas. A house divided will not stand. It’s also part of the marxist manifesto plan to divide and conquer all; create issues and point fingers in innocent directions; do harm to all and sit back and watch. And many can’t see it cause the brainwashing.

This is a very well said comment and I agree entirely. I also grew up in an area with a melting pot of cultures and skin colors (blacks, Asians, Hispanics and whites) and I had friends of every different color and cultural background and there was virtually no talk of racism. Exactly right that "not seeing color" doesn't mean that a person is literally color blind and can't see that there is more or less melanin in a person's skin, it just means that it is mostly irrelevant and the content of a person's character, there interests, etc. are far more important.

I mean, I think it's fine for black people, white people, Asians or whatever to only date within their race. But I don't understand why some people have to make it an "us vs them" thing? Why can't people just say, "I like my ethnicity and want to keep it going, but you do you." And leave it at that?

I grew up around people that only dated outside of their race. They were just attracted to other people. It isn’t a defect. It’s no different than all this LGBTQ stuff to me. You’re into whatever the hell you’re into and I don’t need anybody pushing their preferences upon me either way. I’m a straight white male who likes women of all (legal) ages, races, faiths, sizes and shapes. An equal opportunist if you will. If I find something beautiful or attractive, that’s just that. Putting ourselves in boxes does nothing but create division. I can’t just be 100 ride or die on something unless I personally am ride or die 100 on something. Not just cause everybody else is bout it bout it. Love who you want to love, marry who you want to marry, get freaky with whomever you wish to get your freak on with and just leave me out of it unless you’ve invited me to the party and I want to play too or Vice versa - simple as that.

I think it comes down to who someone is personally attracted to and that includes biological chemistry as well as someones personal boundaries or what they are looking for. Someone looking for an upscale life doesn't go hunting for brides in the trailer park and we leave that p to them. We need to just stay out of peoples' minds, underwear and bedrooms. Mind your own business and it's a good idea to keep your personal life personal sometimes. Everything doesn't have to be a stand or a fight. Pick your battles...not as much matters as you think once you get old.

I would want to see evidence of a strong character, kindness and hopefully from a family of the same. My husband is mixed race (mother is white English / father is black Caribbean). I'm white. A black person, when she found out, said to me 'Why didn't you tell me you were married to a mixed race guy? Then she shouted around the office, 'Hey, she's married into black. She's alright, she's one of us.' I said I didn't mention it to anyone because, A, I don't notice the colour of his skin and B, it makes no difference. Don't put me in a category because of skin colour and if you only like me now because my husband is mixed race then I'd rather you go back to ignoring me.' What a terrible shame. Living in a multicultural city (Birmingham UK) ALL of my friends are of different races, be it black, white, Asian or whatever and I love them all dearly. I pray one day that we could get past this race thing. Sadly, I don't think it will happen in my lifetime.

Helping your own race, as far as attempting to prevent injustice against it (if there is any) is fine, but other than that, no one should be concerning themselves with race of any kind. We should help the needy, and not only those within specific tribes. There is no need to be color-blind, just color-indifferent. It’s about how we treat people, not about how we perceive them to be. Actually, I don’t think people see color, per se, but much more-so, the culture which that color stereotypically represents.

Props to you guys for the conversation. Do you think as a society, we will ever reach the point where we don't see the color of someone's skin? Where we stop judging someone because "He's black", or "She's white"? What if we stop separating people by their color? What if we no longer have to check a box on applications that designates us as Black/White/Asian/Other? There is one race on planet Earth, the Human Race, and we all bleed red. There was a teacher a couple of thousand years ago with a great message, he asked us to "Love One Another". So sad that we are still trying to get there.
@Frostrazor

i say it's perfectly okay and expected to "see" and acknowledge color. But that we celebrate the difference vs ostracizing and judging unfairly based on it. I think it's important that we understand there ARE differences - it continues to allow us to have our own identity and agency of self - but the magic comes from being able to see that a just a part of who they are and not something to weaponize or dwell on. I grew up on a military base. My next door neighbor was a black family, behind me were white Mormons and next to them was a white father and a south korean mother of my two good friends. The other side of the street was an asian family from Okinawa, and next to them was a white man married to a polynesian or hawaiin woman. BUT we were all boys of same age, and every weekend we played football or baseball together, or chased each other on bikes as we played cops and robbers, or teamed up for dirt-clod fights at the construction sites. We knew we were different - but we didn't care. The differences were interesting. Whether it was the cultural music they listened to, the religion in their house, or the foods they ate. And most of those fathers were surrogate fathers for the rest of us. Block parties were amazing fun, and I never saw one moment of racism or discrimination. We were all Americans, and we all wanted the same thing - a loving family, good friends and fun, and safe community.

No we won't and never will, history shows us that racism is a very natural and normal thing, it's not something you like, but it is something that just occurs. In my opinion, racism in it's most natural form is not even necesarrily driven by skin color as simply being from a different tribe of people is enough to set another tribe of people off. It can come from many different factors and facets, just in todays day and age, the first thing we think of is skin color, while in reality that's merely one aspect of actual racism, most people don't even know or realize when they are being racist. As an example, I am Dutch, I migrated to Belgium because my mom met someone and I was a minor, a lot of Belgian people would laugh at me or ridicule me for being Dutch, and I can assure you most of them thought they were just being funny or joking around not realizing what kind of impact it had on me as a person, now I personally didn't care too much because it's just not the kind of person I am, but I can tell you it definitly did bother me that, I probably couldn't do X "because I am Dutch" or narrate me because "I sound funny" and many more things that I won't get into. I personally don't think that it is something that should go extinct either because it's a part of life, if you want to take racism out of the equation you'd be changing everything that makes us human, you'd be getting rid of class division through wealth, you'd irradicate any form or combat because it enforces oppression through force, and many many other things. Just so we're clear, I'm not for racism neither am I against it, I find it very low effort and not worth my time or energy, if I see someone bully or belittle someone with racist tactics (which is what racism is to me, bullying someone because low hanging fruit is the only thing their brain is good for) I'll try to make sure I either make them feel far worse than they're making the other person feel or simply let people know what kind of toxic person they are. As for the message, I think the vast majority of people "love one another" but it also doesn't take much to harm one another, especially when we also take religion into account where you can ask for forgiveness and that should somehow fix all the wrongdoing someone has done.

I am a 55 year old white woman, not rich at all but comfortable. I have a master's degree & built my own company from the bottom up. My current relationship is with a black man who I have loved since we were in our 20s. He just turned 50. He had some issues in his life. We would be together, then grow apart. Our breaks were never bad & when we came back together we just picked up where we left off. I love him with all my heart. I don't need or expect anything from him. We both have dated black and white people. Its just about love & who you're meant to be with.we respect each other. We're together forever now. And I so enjoy watching your you tube channel. Well there’s a lot of single mother hood culture promoted to the black community via the government welfare system and feminism , more black women are not seen as centric beauty aswell and are often promoted to be masculine, all these factors lead to a loop nature of black women not getting married or short lasting ones Just to top that off the lack of accountability and emotional stability promoted to black men These two elements reject each other and is core to what ruins a marriage , this is why Dr is only promoting a homogenous and faithful family unit to the black community , like whites do Italians asains and Indians , even Jewish But it’s often seen as radical when black ppl like him promote it , maybe it’s is articulation or counterproductive in his strategy to achieve the family unit goal in the black community , Even whites aswell are seen as racist when they want this but I don’t disagree I don’t find white ppl racist when they want to preserve their race as long as maintaining self identity worth and family unit , because if u hate urself u hate everybody

@@jenf836 It's totally fine to want to marry within your race if you want to personally, my only issue is with people like this "doctor" telling others they're wrong for marrying outside their race. It's a matter of preference, I've always loved women of different ethnicities and races, but I dated plenty of white women too, I hope you find a good black man, there are plenty out there, but the culture is telling them to not go the marriage route, and that's a shame, you deserve happiness too. Don't give up (not saying you have), don't settle for less than what you want. What I've found is that the race matters much less than almost every personality characteristic and how someone treats you is more important that the melanin in their skin, texture of their hair, or other immutable characteristics.

My mom was far more educated than my father when they met and for a period of time earned more than he did. She did not come from money and was a first generation college graduate. But She paid her own way through her bachelors in nursing and Masters as a clinical nurse specialist. My dad worked at an oil refinery when they married, until he was wrongly terminated after being injured on the job due to faulty equipment. Mom encouraged him to go back to school and get a college degree. It was extremely hard because my dad is very very ADHD and dyslexic, but he is incredibly intelligent. He was told in school he was just stupid and lazy because back in the 60's and 70's, learning disabilities just weren't commonly know. He didn't know that he just learns differently. He did not work some of the time he was in perfusion school because he was in school full time to graduate faster. She supported him unconditionally. Helped him with his school work if he needed it and cheered him on. He got his bachelor's and then went on to become a certified perfusionist (the person that runs the heart lung machine during open heart surgeries, transplants, etc.). They worked at the same hospital for many years and dad has been very successful. He would have never had the confidence to go to school without my mother's encouragement and support. A marriage is give and take. At times, the woman may make more than the man and vice versa. Sometimes, one person may be out of work for reasons outside their control. Socioeconomic status or level of education shouldn't matter if you find someone who you truly love. Had my parents not been from different educational backgrounds, things may have turned out very differently. My dad may have never gone to college or perfusion school and have a successful 30 plus year career. It was because they were different that it all worked out in the end.

Had the same in Northern Ireland between Catholics and Protestants. It was a big no, no and if one was to get together one of them would have to convert and promise their children will be of that religion to get married in a church. It did happen of course but was very rare and it has increased. I married a Catholic girl from the Republican of Ireland and I'm from a staunch unionist/Loyalist area in NI. It is more acceptable now as life is to short. My uncle converted to catholic and his kids and him were basically shunned from the family. I got married in a catholic church but the priest made it a neutral service and was very open minded for a bloke in his 80s and I didnt need to convert are anything like that, not that I'm religious though. Things are moving forward thankfully and my kids will experience the best of both Irish and British ideals and culture and hopefully have a balanced view on this islands history.

I think the answer to that is don’t rush a relationship, such as jump into bed with them. Get to know someone slowly, naturally so you can discover their values and make sure they show by their life and relationships (family & friends) that they are who they say they are. The well known phrase is “Marry with haste, repent at leisure”. If someone wants to rush a relationship before you get to know them, it’s a Red Flag.

My husband who I met online had his own career established and grew up in a middle class family, had his own car, pretty good amount of money saved up. There is a difference between having a preference and wanting your childeren to consider that preference as an option-compared to trying to dictate a preference for someone else , and shame them if that preference isn't met. Its discrimination and rascist once its not just a preference (for them), or not an optional preference (for their childeren) Its 100% rascist and goofy when you trying to dictate/manipulate/shame random peoples' preferences , cause they aint rascist and goofy 😂

The key part in Tatum's story about him and his friends not noticing color, is God. God doesn't see color nor will you be judged by color but by how you treat others- His law. Him and his friends have the love of Christ in their hearts and are guided by His Holy Spirit. Thanks for the vid guys. God bless.

Someone must have hurt that man deeply for him to believe that marriage is not about love in this day and age. Maybe its an american thing to marry for economic reasons, but in my country, we marry for love, regardless of skin colour. And the answer to the question "is being anti white racist?" Hell yes it is racist. It is just as racist as being anti black.
