Is Bowfinger Worth It?

Hollywood is full of colourful characters and people wanting to make a name for themselves and Bowfinger is one of them. Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy star in a movie about making a movie on a very small budget.
When Bowfinger reads a great script he tries to get Kit Ramsey to star but gets shot down which should mean the end of his dreams, or at least go and get another actor right? Well no, Bowfinger decides to film Kit in secret and have his actors say their lines to him instead!
Hilarity ensues in this satire of Hollywood but is it worth watching?

I love this film, saw it in the theater with my husband when we first started dating. I love Steve Martin! Two pieces of trivia I learned are that this is based on a real story of an early film star being filmed while on vacation and it was used to make it look like she was in a film. And that Eddie Murphy took the job for the sole reason that he wanted to work with Steve Martin.

That's an awesome way to start a relationship! I also love Steve Martin and have seen so many of his films. I knew of that first piece of trivia and it's still bizarre to hear, like filming someone in secret to put them into a feature film? It is super strange! The second bit of trivia I didn't know, and I don't blame Eddie Murphy for jumping on. I would have done the same thing!
