good video. I often explain to my friends (not expert chats, just training chats) that your key functions (whether you use them or not) are to grab things, change hands in doing so, run medium-long distances often carrying something on your back/uphill/downhill, get down / get back up, pull stuff around, and pick up stuff often from one side of the body to drop it on the other side. Oh, and throw things/swing clubs. Seems like a lot to cover, but most exercises with kettlebells, body weight, club bells and maces, sandbags etc... cover up several movements in one set. And you can go for very high volumes of work. Even doing lots, it's not as diverse (and time consuming) as professional body building , to take another extreme as an example, where you have sets for high pecs, low pecs, central pecs, wider pecks, thicker pecks, and that is just one muscle group!

Great info coach, FBB has kept me injury free and felling good after many years of random injury prone CrossFit training. Thanks for all your work.

What machine is it that you are using for the glute bridges. I've never seen one of those before? Thanks on advance for the reply.

Wow! I just got further confirmation of what I just in inadvertently learned in the last few weeks of practicing the barbell back squat. With a kettlebell in the front either racked or goblet, I can do deep squats. With the barbell back squat I started at what I thought was light weight, and I found I could not squat deeply. Then last week at my gym the coach recommended I lighten the load again significantly and do the movement slowly. I did and I found that I got back down to that wider and deeper squat range of motion.

This would be impossible to do in a public gym.

SuperSets can definitely be challenging in a public gym. But you can always pick two opposing exercises or compounding exercises that use a single set of Dumbbells. If you have the dumbbells then you can do all the exercises there.

@@joshuapeek9555 I appreciate your feedback. i completly understand the challenges that this could present in a public gym. I would love to know how it could have been a better experience for you.

@@joshuapeek9555 Thank you for taking the time to respond to me. I've been wanting to create something that helps to navigate these issues you're talking about. Many of our customers do use functional fitness faciltieis that make this a bit easier for them. But I want this to be accessible to everyone.

excellent video: on the EMOM, what is the targeted length of time?
@marcusfilly2 жыл бұрын
Each exercise should take about 20-30sec
@ronlambke25952 жыл бұрын
@@marcusfilly I should have been more specific; I meant how long should the entire EMOM take; in other words, is 10 minutes, 20 minutes, an effective time block?

i gained tons of muscle, more like 30 pounds muscle and some fat too when i quit my very physical job and started going to the gym...now im in worse shape than i was when i was burning 1000 cals a day working...i couldnt do a full day of physical labor if i tried now...REAL functional work every day beats gym muscle all day
@marcusfilly2 жыл бұрын
How can we replicate the benefits of that work in the gym?
@mediocrejoker94472 жыл бұрын
@@marcusfilly your workouts look like they'd waste me, in a good way. i use almost all machines, i never need core to balance, back to maintain form, balance...big and strong but not functional for landscape or construction, lifting and moving heavy stuff all day, 10,000 steps and literally tons and tons moved. THAT was some volume! 5'10, 185, sub 10 percent bf at 3200-3400 cals a day just livin.
