@@vz1098My guess would be 3d model animation for the hand turning the pages and the buildings marquees and tabletop. For the humans, the animators probably filmed some actors (or filmed themselves) doing the actions and then drew over the frames and changed the appropriate details (hair, glasses,etc.)

For those wondering: The "business partner" after whose death Albert Mayer left the project was Maciej Nowicki. He was a Polish architect, respected in pre-war polish fro his impressive architectural drawings. He also worked on J. S. Dorton Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina. Quite interesting man

@@WowTrivia-hello The Parks, separate cycling lanes, overall cleanliness, the trees 🌳and greenery that you see all around rather than a concrete jungle are the best part. A new metro is also being proposed which is a good thing. I think in India, Chandigarh is the best city to live a happy life. It is just a very liveable city. That’s all.

I'm one of the natives he talked about who were oppposed to the city building (my late grandfather to be specific) because they took our lands from a very prime location in Sector 23 and 24 (village called kailar) and they gave lands way out of the city (about 40km away) present day derabassi, village barwala. Well if my grandfather didn't decide to buy a house in village Burail at the time I wouldn't have grown up in this city. Love Chandigarh Though, Truly the city Beautiful.

Just from an initial watch, this reminds me of the failing mega projects that Egypt keeps announcing. Maybe they can follow Chandigarh’s example. Cities (like Brasilia) have been built from scratch before, and hopefully we can see the model of Chandigarh replicated elsewhere in India and the world, especially in bigger urban centers.

Countries are not justified in shoving aside ordinary people to build cities according to the latest dogmas, doctrines, and ideologies of "the future modern city". The mad dreams (or even non-mad dreams) of a powerful few in government should not trample underfoot the ordinary lives of ordinary people of more-modest aspiration. Even if the result is beautiful, the end doesn't justify the means here. India 's people had other pressing needs at that point in time, and these dreams and visions take money away from the needs of ordinary people.

My father came to Chandigarh in the year '87 from Pb (Dist. Malerkotla) for his job in Pb Civil Secretariate. Since then we have not left the city. As a kid roamed almost on the streets and sector on my bicycle with friends, and familiar to every corner of this beautiful city. Morning cycling to leisure valleys, high court complex, surrounding forest areas all are beautiful memories. Being to many places outside India, but chd is very special the place where you spend your childhood. Still buying a house inside the city is a dream, as property cost is high from the beginning and we have lived in Govt house from the beginning in sector 11. Now we own 2 properties on the edge of the city but not inside 😊😊.

I am a resident of Panchkula, Haryana which is a twin city just adjacent to Haryana's Capital Chandigarh and I am greatful I grew up in such a beautiful area. Mohali is another adjacent city which is of Punjab and together these three make "TRICITY" as they are absolutely identical and Chandigarh acts as a junction between both sister states of Haryana and Punjab thus, it is a common capital for both states.

Of all the cities i have lived in, Chandigarh is the best city for whether starting a family, raising kids or for senior citizens it has everything one can think of very easily accessible. As of the so called segregation that's something present in 99.9% cities,towns etc in the whole world Second No room for industrial development, firstly Chandigarh was designed to function as the administrative capital of 2 states at once hence large no. of govt. Housing. Second Chandigarh does have "industrial areas" and it called together with 2 adjoining cities as the tricity which both have industries At the end i would say one thing "Chandigarh is a place to LIVE not a city where everything is crowded, going on the high gear with zero social interaction Making one feel exhausted and depressed"

It's funny how you label Maciej Nowicki, the chief architect of the Chandigarh, just as a "Albert Mayer's dead partner", when in fact - Maciej made most of the plans for the city originally, before Le Corbusier taking over. Besides, why would Mayer withdraw after Nowicki's death, if he already did all those things on his own? Could he not finish his own work? It is also obvious just how much of inspiration Maciej drew from the Central and Eastern European brutalism style.

I tell everyone all the time I didn’t like Canada as much as I loved Chandigarh no one believe me tho. This city is lovee. Just adding some more facts.... Chandigarh is also based on existing ruins of the Indus-Valley Civilisation which is popular for its grid planning. No wonder the western gentlemen definitely would have put on the effort but it was the ancient civilisation which made it so perfect , we the Indians were damn taleneted to be more modern than today in the acient era , only if we've had not suffered those invasions. Chandigarh was forcefully declared the capital of both states, however, it was originally only the capital of Panjab despite the latter being unwilling, it was taken away from the state just like everything else since 1947.

The States Reorganisation Act, 1956, does not make any changes with the arrangement arrived at in 1952 and in 1966, though Punjab Re-Organisation Act, 1966, came into being and Chandigarh was made as Union territory but it the city retained its character of capital of Punjab, the advocate general submitted before the court". @@hackbaba999that’s not the real reason. After partition, due to the loss of Lahore to Pakistan, the eastern Punjab needed a new capital. Chandigarh was chosen as it lies in the crossroads between the western Punjabi speaking, southern haryanvi speaking and northern mountainous districts. It was the state of Punjab which wanted a separate Punjab composed only of Punjabi speakers and started the Punjabi suba movement. You can’t give the city to state of Punjab just for that reason. Haryana also had equal claim in it. Best option is to move Haryana capital to somewhere central like Hisar and move Punjab capital to Ludhiana. Chandigarh is not Punjabi or Haryanvi. It’s it’s own place!

I recently visited Chandigarh for an educational conference. I must say I was entranced by the greenery and efficient traffic control in the city. However, I also found city too...orderly. I know it sounds weird but a city needs a degree of chaos in it to be vibrant. The minute planning of Chandigarh has made it like a honeycomb, beautiful but repetitive. A city should be like a nest, neat enough to meet the citizens need and a little rough to feel the vibrancy.

Love the video, just thought to mention something the video left out was, Chandigarh was able to blend a sort of brutalist architecture with a green asthetic resulting in something quite unique. If you are able you should definitely get the free guided tour of the government buildings (head) as they best show the actual architecture style corbusier was known for. Also props to the creators for condensing this much information in such a short time, years ago i tried making a documentary on Chandigarh covering its past and the hope for its future but found it difficult to cover everything.

I have stayed in Chandigarh and panchkula for about 6 months, and believe me those were the most beautiful 6 months of my life. In morning, i was able to see mountain ranges in distance, sun used to rise between them. This city has one of the best public transport infrastructure and clean roads. Food is quite nice and i don't have enough words to explain it.

I spent 4 years of my life while pursuing engineering from Panjab University, Chandigarh. And I must say, those days were the best. Chandigarh is probably the best city to settle in India. Well planned, well maintained, peaceful and welcoming. At that time, the job opportunities were less as IT was still not established so had to move out. Not sure how it is now. But if I ever get a chance to go back, I would love to settle there.
