Is Dior HOMME INTENSE worth it? | Full Review | Reformulations

Hello lovely people!
Today, I review the much beloved flanker to Dior Homme - Dior Homme Intense, widely considered as one of the best designer fragrances for men. It is one of those rare cases where a fragrance has done well both critically and commercially. I talk about the notes, the development, occasions, reformulation, performance, my thoughts and comment on whether it is still worth picking up.
Summary about the reformulation:
DHI 2011 - The iris is more prominent, cacao, lavender and leather is denser, little bitter, sour and smokier. This facet is similar to Dior Homme Parfum to some extent. More lipsticky. I would say they are about 80% similar from the opening for the first hour or so. Longevity of 10 hours with good projection for the first 40 minutes or so and then forms a scent bubble for up to 4 hours before settling down close to the skin.
DHI 2021 - In the newer version, the iris is toned down, the cacao, leather, lavender combo is more fresher and not as dark or stronger. Less lipsticky, more carroty. In the dry down, they get closer to each other I would say about 90%. I also get the feeling that the newer one has more modern aroma chemicals like ISO E super to make it more wearable. The newer version has a longevity of 8 hours on my skin with moderate projection for 30 minutes but settles down faster to a skin scent within a couple of hours.
I would say unless you are obsessed about DHI like some of us are and you like to break down each and every detail, don't worry too much. Most people won't be able to tell the difference, especially in the air without plunging their nose in to your skin. Get the older version if you can find it for a good deal. If not, buy the current version and do not pay insane prices to the scalpers online.

Sadly the performance is week, i just tried in stored, sprayed 3 times on my arm and i only got 4h. On the other hand i also sprayed 3 times of Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privee and that lasted 6 hours. I can say that they both are in the same boat, with nice iris.

Hello Brother, DHP and DHI have noticeable differences. If you want a darker scent, get DHP. If not get DHI. Though it is reformulated, it is not totally different and still a good scent. Thanks for watching!! 😀

Till 2020 the bottles all look the same. Only way is to check the batch code if it starts with 6 to confirm it is from 2016.
