i enjoyed it. it doesnt fit well with Stormblade, but Weiss & Hickman have higher canon authority other authors, at least in my view, which is fine. i found it interesting but im thirsty for world details to incorporate into my game, so even when it sucks, its at least useful. i thought this was good though.

One of the biggest flaws of the original Chronicles are the time jumps. A lot of things happen that are completely missed. No more is this more apparent than in two places. One, at the end of Autumn Twilight and before Winter Night. And two, during Winter Night. For decades new readers have always pointed this out. Since the release of the Lost Chronicles, I have always recommended reading each novel after each subsequent volume of the Chronicles trilogy. Dwarven Depths fills in the gap between Autumn Twilight and Winter Night. Highlord Skies fills in the missing gap halfway in Winter Night. Hourglass Mage after Spring Dawning bridges Chronicles and Legends. I wouldn't say that there is no character development. In Dwarven Depths, Flint, Tika, and I think, Laurana grow the most; everyone else to a lesser extent. But to new readers, I always recommend reading each Lost Chronicles novel after each Chronicles novel
