If you weigh in off the ice issues, being a distraction and value as a teammate beyond statistical output For all his talents there's not a lot of stories or testimonials to actually being a good let alone great teammate As. Jets fan, trading him away in that lop sided deal made the Jets better San Jose looks better without him He can produce on the ice but does he actually help his team I doubt it

All the tools and skills but man!..... He's 30 years old and does NOT have more than 5 years (likely less) before he starts declining and falling apart physically. Kane has a history of being toxic so I don't know about Kane guys. If the Sharks felt he was a solid contributing TEAM player, the team would find away to make it work with Kane. Their actions were to get rid of him (like the Jets, like Buffalo, now Sharks). If Kane expects 7M USD a year, I think he's going to be getting a rude awakening. He claims he's building a CONTENDER, but the hard facts say he's done a reverse Duckwalk from Chairelli's, Game 7, 2nd round series, against Anaheim, in 2017. It's hard to deny, but Holland has a more mature core group, than his predecessor, including a much deeper farm system, yet he can't get his team past the 1st round...we aren't in Toronto anymore⁉️

There are few teams that have pulled it off decently. The LA Kings of about a decade ago did it....but it's a very rare thing....and it's pretty clear that the Oilers do not have the depth and intensity that LA had back then. To add, a coach who publicly chastizes one of his players is clearly a detriment....NOT an asset. He probably did it because he was worried about his own ass, rather than truly believing the shit he said. Teams win with relationships...and not with a coach being an arsehole in public. I don't predict good things going forward for the Oilers...until they make a few really needed changes....especially this coach.
