Mohanji addresses a question about whether everything one goes through in life is predestined and if it is because of karma. He explains the framework of destiny and the choices available to one within that framework of time, space, and activity. Rightly said... Some times due to our personal tragedies, its difficult to realize & live this truth fully. I think I can share about my experience. My father has attained 'Siva loka prapthi' around 5 months back. He was suffering from Pemphigus for around 3 months time (a serious auto immune disease; though at that time we knew nothing about this; we heard this name for the 1st time, when the general physician told us about this condition); He was 83 years of age. At that time, we went with the medication of the general physician and did not consult a skin specialist, as during Covid times and we felt hospitalization would rather complicate things. But it turned out that the medicines given by the general physician did not really help, causing much suffering , before his exit... Recently, I happened to see some videos - of treatment given by a doctor from Solapur. The patients were in more severe conditions, compared to my father and with that doctor's treatment, those patients have recovered. ( one women is over 70 years; And, she has also contracted this disease around similar time period as my father - during corona out break....) I understand that what happened to my father is as per his life span, destiny and the prarabdha karma which he had to undergo... I also understand, even if we had gone for such treatment, still the outcome might be the same. ** If we had done whatever we could do and still things turn out negatively, we can be assured that how its been destined. The problem is, when we didnt do whatever we could have done, and a calamity like this happens, cause lot of pain. Feel sad that, if I had checked with that doctor or some one else and consulted, probably could have avoided much suffering that father underwent and he might possibly be with us now...its just that I failed to act right during that time... Regret not doing something I could have tried... Destiny..... AUM!

It can indeed be difficult to watch the suffering of a person whom you love, especially if they do not survive the illness. And it can cause even more sorrow if you believe that your actions caused or increased the suffering. But Mohanji says that when we don't have control even of 'simple' things like our heartbeat and respiration, it is futile to believe that we have control over more complex behaviors. As you have recognised (perhaps intellectually) all that occured was in your father's prarabhda. What you are experiencing is yours. You did the best that you could do- in fact the only thing that you could do (given your level of knowledge and the circumstances). You can continue to keep feeling guilty about your role in this, or you could move forward with the determination to help other people and beings in this world. We do not mean to be harsh, so we apologise if at all we come across in that way, but this is the essence of what Mohanji is trying to tell us. With love, Team Mohanji.

For example, if I resign from a job and regret later on, was it pre-destined for me to resign because of past life karma or was it my free will to choose whether to resign or not. @spirit-lature4607, Mohanji has said that the soul is guided before birth, to make choices for the upcoming life on earth, including birth, all the events of life, and the period that it will stay on earth. Dear Nily, Mohanji has not spoken of this directly, but we will attempt to answer this based on the principles of his teachings and our personal understanding. You will likely be familiar with the ksama prarthana or prayer of forgiveness that we often chant after long and complex chants. We chant this prayer as we may have knowingly or unknowingly made mistakes in chanting, or have ownership while chanting. In a similar way, though Arjuna, at the end of the Bhagavad Gita, surrendered his mind to the wisdom of Lord Krishna, over the 18 days of battle, there may have been occasions when his surrender slipped, or there was ownership of his actions at certain points. Also please remember that it was Arjuna alone who heard the Lord's words. His brothers did not. Hence he is likely to have joined them to together make the journey to cleanse themselves. As Mohanji has said, we decide our life story up to and including the exact time of our death before we take birth. As per these teachings, your father died at the exact time that he was supposed to- not a minute earlier or later. one of my friend's close relative had died few months back. my friend was telling that treatment could have been better and had he availed a better medical treatment, he could have survived. When some one dies, means life span is completed.and as long as life span is there, one cant die. The question is this: Now, even if my friend's relative had been provided with best treatment, still he would have died on same time, as his life span gets completed at that time and also death being pre determined already Am i right ? Thank you for clarifying your doubt. According to what Mohanji tells us, there is no way that events could have transpired in any other way, since all of the events in his life had been pre-agreed and chosen by him before his birth (he had 'signed the contract' so as to say). So, even though the best treatment was available, it was not available for him, as per his life plan. This is the reason why Mohanji urges us to live our life with full acceptance ; our life can only be what is playing out in front of our eyes every moment. Dear Pratyush, Mohanji tells us that everything is based on destiny. He also explains that each soul has pre-decided the destiny for its life before it takes birth in the world. Mohanji cautions us that, since we have no memory of our previous lives and the plan for this life for ourselves, let alone others, it is best that we avoid judging the behaviour and actions of other people, since we do not know their karmic history and the reasons for them behaving in that particular way. Dear Pratyush, Before this birth, we had a different life. What kind of life we had, we don't know. That's why Mohanji always says to accept life the way it is. Does that mean sitting idle and doing nothing? The answer is NO. Acceptance means accepting that this is what we have created in birth after births, the patterns, the concepts etc. (It is essential to interpret the message correctly.) You are here because of your unfulfilled desires. Hence having a purpose in life is essential. Do selfless service to reduce the karmic cycle and the intensity of Karma.
