Palmer was a breath of fresh air when he came on. The Bellingham Foden debacle gave Southgate a headache. It was square pegs in round holes, you cant fit Bellingham and Foden in the same team.

You're not comparing like-for-like. If Palmer stayed at City under Pep's rigorous system he would have similar stats to Grealish. Pep sacrifices flair of individuals for team results and it works. Foden would flourish at other clubs if he had a free role that Palmer has. That's why Palmer asked City to sell him.

He drops deep, makes runs, drifts to the wings, scores pens, free kicks, through traffic, amazing passes and vision. Just doesn’t have Messi’s insane dribbling ability. I think there are some goals and chance creator charts and Palmer is one of the closest players to Messi.
