It's almost a no-brainer that theres more to Hakone than what we have in the game. Whether or not this is part of the eventual Fujimi Kaido track, or if it'll be expanded into something else remains to be seen. The turn with the racing curbing screams yeah, while the part going straight down the main drag says otherwise. The beauty of game development is either or both can be updated to work for a track expansion. I would love to see it, and I am hopeful that it happens. I only wonder if the new Fujimi will include the epic run through town at the base of the mountain from Forza 1. I'd be overjoyed if that were to make it to the game too.

They may do a sort of re-brand with Funimi Kaido altogether and call it Hakone Mountain as that's been found in game files. Time will tell!

I would expect it to be stylistically based on the Nordschleife entry/exit onto the GP Circuit to connect a full loop in the same sort of way, I had a feeling this would be the case when they announced Hakone in the first place but it’s nice to know I’m not thinking like a crazy person. I don’t see them adding any point to point “Sprint” format races. So if Fujimi is coming back (which is almost necessary to keep this game alive as it’s #1 or 2 on the forum) I see this being the way they do it and dropping the up/downhill layouts from FM4. I hope it’s the case as it would be nice to have the track even if it was re-imagined!!

There is a track in the files that have been shared showing "Hakone Mountain" Also, I was told in the past by an ex t10 employee that Kaido would be in the new FM!

Certainly possible but i'm expecting this bigger lay-out of hakone to be it's own thing rather than be a reincarnation of fujimi kaido. Certainly wouldn't mind driving a lap on it for the novelty of it.

My opinion on the game: the physics engine is great, much improved tire modeling that is actually somewhat realistic now. Meaning there no more magic psi to aim for to get max grip like all the past games. Needed tire pressure is now based on the cars overall weight and front to rear weight ratio. The cars actually feel like they have weight to them now as well, in past titles you had a hard time using the rumble strips cuz it would either upset the cars balance to much or it was a ramp for one side of the car sending you on to two wheels at a 45° + angle and even rolling the car sometimes. This doesn’t happen anymore, the car feels heavy and resettles itself properly after hitting the curbing. As for multiplayer… it’s gotten worse and worse with every title release since like fm4. They removed the public custom lobby selection, they force everyone into specific class lobbies and now they don’t even give us all the classes to choose from so we have to race in the like 2 or 3 different classes they choose for us. They just keep making multiplayer more and more restrictive and won’t let players do whatever it is they want to do. Which imho has helped to push many players away to other games with more online freedom to do what they want. The game has been out almost a year now, it launched with drift suspension and drag tires but we still have no place to use drift or drag cars… single player is way to small, there’s just not enough there to do to keep people like me (who are not a fan of how they configure multiplayer) occupied long term. I can only race the same series over and over so many times with different cars before I get bored and move on to another game. The whole point of making a game is to keep people entertained long term and seems to me everything they have done since fm5 has just pushed players away.

Forza used to have a great overall formula to keep people playing. They have completely lost sight of that formula now and are just trying to survive… barely… they need to go back and play forza 4 and realize what made that game great, the freedom to do what we want, when we want and how we want. The freedom to be creative and come up with new things to do and entertain ourselves. That game inspired creativity and fm8 just crushes it.

@@ConnerSpeed6yea I agree I still play it and enjoy the overall feel of the physics much more than any previous Motorsport title or horizon title. Iv been enjoying the online multi class recently added. The game does have a lot of issues though and the devs have shown they are extremely lazy with the car models and must have no quality control system to make sure the models are actually finished. On top of just not listening to the community screaming about all the issues. Kinda makes me think that since they are owned by Microsoft now that some big Microsoft exec that isn’t an auto enthusiast and knows nothing about games is making their decisions for them.

Circling back to this video - do we think it's still happening? It's really disappointing that we haven't heard anything yet. My only hope is that the announcement/release is connected to drifting officially coming to FM. If they added drifting as well as Fujimi and connecting layouts to Hakone, that would really invigorate the game.

I have been so disappointed with the Forza franchise as a whole, that I had taken a whole 7 months off of playing Horizon and Motorsport. I am really hopeful that FK comes sooner rather than later.

They are not making the games that we want to see and are instead doing the bare minimum. We continue to hope that each next iteration will have what the current and previous games were missing, but it never does.

Not to kill all hope of, imo, the best track created for a Forza title, but... I did some research 🧐 We know Nordschleife is coming. So when a track has a layout that existed, but is missing (Nordschleife, Bugatti Circuit, Indianapolis, etc.) it will be blocked, just as Hakone is, yet differently. One: Hakone's 1st is blocked off by a fence barrier. The 2nd, a fence barrier with sponsors. If Fujimi is gonna connect, they really don't want anyone to suspect. Two: The connecting parts of the track at Le Mans, Bugatti Circuit and even Indy only have tire walls blocking the way. (Spoke on Bugatti and Indy because they exist and may be otw... one day 🤷🏿‍♂️) Three: Lime Rock has a similar runoff at the 1st corner, no one ever said another track was coming 😂 (that runoff extends a short way and ends with barriers on grass) Four: At Hakone, the metal barriers and concrete barriers (on track) line up. The metal barriers (on track) and the metal barriers (leading to "Fujimi") do not. Every track is made exactly the same. They would've connected the two metal barriers and the concrete one wouldn't connect, just block. If Fujimi is to connect they'd have to remodel Hakone as well. I don't think they'd make that mistake. Five: The plyons. This is what gives me hope that Fujimi is coming 🤩 if you know Fujimi, or don't, there are pylons or cell towers that peek over the trees in the final corners otw into town. Those towers are EXACTLY the same as the ones on the back end of Hakone. This also kills the notion that Hakone will directly connect. The towers in Fujimi are a good way under the town. Those in Hakone are a good way above the track. This means there would be a large amount of space between track and town. My guess... Hakone will not connect, but close enough that when on the Fujimi pass, you will be able to see the track 😏 Fujimi was always visually cluttered with an unnecessary amount of trees, rocks, etc. to block grey areas. Idk if it's confirmed or coming at all, gonna connect to Hakone or be a stand alone track. Either way, I'm just gonna expect the worst, but 🙏🏿 for the best with this one... 😅 Forza and expectations don't have the best history, sooo... 🤷🏿‍♂️

I think it's almost a certainty that Hakone will be the start/finish for the new version of Fujimi Kaido. I don't remember the original version because at the time I didn't like tracks like that so I didn't race it much but now it's something I know I will spend a lot of time on. Especially with a wheel. It may even challenge the Nordschliefe for my most used track for rivals. As for the game? The actual racing is so much better than FM7 due to the new tyre physics and track limit changes and multiplayer is awesome. The rest of it ranges from meh to absolute garbage. The new penalty system is definitely a step in the right direction but until it actually works as intended it's frustratingly bad. The career mode is a joke without a punchline. Nobody asked for the rubbish they gave us. T10 went all Forza Horizon and decided to drip feed us content instead of a fully fleshed out career like every other FM game has had. For that to be it after 6 years in development is a slap in the face to those of us that have been there since the original game. It just shows that all T10 care about is Game Pass users and not the real fans. There's a really good game under all the mess but how good it gets depends on how long it takes T10 to fix it.

Well they should fix the common issues in the game first such as pathetic performance on "above recommended spec pc's", very poor optimization, constant game crashes etc and THEN continue to add extra features to the game.

You are tripping if you think Turn 10 is adding FK back. In modern-ish titles it's quite common place for environment artists to place extra detail to roads that may not be accessible under normal use cases as it adds to the set dressing of the environment. Secondly that road leads to nowhere. Please look at Le Mans, it has this same detail. Lastly, Fujimi Kaido doesn't have any extra roads at the bottom of the mountain pass, as it's just a tiny Japanese style village with some buildings and a car park, that's not to say other details couldn't be added but it wouldn't be in good faith of the original circuit. When you look at OG track environments that got remastered like Maple Valley, although they redressed some areas, the track layout NEVER changed.

The Jimi aint coming back. This is a fundamental issue with how T10 are making Forza. Jimi keeps being one of the most requested tracks for a return, but the T10 devs keep saying they aren't going to make it because "thats not the direction they want to take the game". That's nothing short of telling the customers that they are wrong, and it shows this is the wrong attitude in how they keep missing the expectations of Forza players. T10 needs to pull their head in and stop thinking they are better than their playerbase.
