I would say mostly yes. The quality dropped compared to every previous title. It may have more contents but it doesn't mean the quality is higher. The game is empty in many cases and the world feels less detailed compared to previous GTAs. No, i am not talking aboyt the map itself but how many details it contains...AI behavior and reaction to the environment feels soulless. You see few groups of people standing and doing the same animations or sitting on chairs and eating but the ones walking around feel too scripted compared to San Andreas or GTA 4 that had many variations (people holding hands, shootouts in gang areas, police chasing suspects on foot, npcs having a chance to get hit by a car at an intersection while crossing the street etc...) things that are totally missing in GTA 5, yes, there are police chases from time to time but on the side of the street nothing happens if not scripted events that only happen once. GTA 5 lacked of details on old gen due to hardware limitation but that's not an excuse to keep the game limited on newer consoles aswell. Just think about that... animals has no interaction at all towards each other. In the trailer for PS4 you could see a cougar approaching a deer but that never happens in game, they just act like nothing exists nearby except the player. These are all details that are necessary for giving the impression of a living world. Last but not least, GTA 5 singleplayers lacks of side activities...iconic vigilante, paramedic and firefighter missions are gone, you cannot eat, sports are only 3 and not that intense or fun, no fun activities like comedy theatre, nightclubs, pool table, air hockey or arcades... you basically spend money only on cars, clothes and guns (and few businesses that aren't even accessible) but no appartments or activities that allows you to spend some cash on.

I hate that people can't seem to separate the online experience from their single player reviews. When GTA 6 releases I bet there will be hundreds of videos about GTA 5 is better than GTA 6...

stopped playing before covid because i realized they were rereleasing the same thing repeatedly. felt very little joy and value from the online experience once i figured this out. im honestly clueless how people still play it and for them to make a gta+ thing is bizarre beyond my comprehension

GTAO when VI releases needs to ensure it can correct their economy, over time add a map extension (Liberty City would be great), and ensure a QUALITY over QUANTITY approach with Their “DLC”. I cannot play GTAO and haven’t since Doomsday. V was a downgrade in story and physics. And the Shark Cards ruined a lot.

although I really like storymode it is definitely not rockstar’s best work, you can also tell that it was gutted to work on ps3/360 Online is far worse however, I am genuinely surprised that people still play it, it’s a mediocre wanna be mmo that hasn’t been good since 2021, it has had a disastrous effect on gaming aiding the normalisation of micro-transactions in £60 triple A games and stopped us from getting storymode dlc and possibly even rdr2 and red dead online DLC

I’ve played all GTA’s and 5 is by far the most overrated. RDR2 on the story mode alone clears GTA 5 anyday. People play it just bc online is the latest iteration. When GTA 6 comes out GTA 5 will be ancient history.

Gta5's very overrated.. I've played it through once to 100%, this was a year or two since, I put it on the other day thinking of playing it through again, after the start I was instantly bored and turned it off. There's just nothing really that exciting about the story mode that makes me want to play through it all twice. One playthrough was enough. Rdr2 on the other hand is a much better game, the characters and NPC's feel alive, the story's well written and engaging - in GTA5 you don't even notice the NPC's as they are just like soul-less robots that don't do hardly anything at all, and the story is basically pretty rubbish (apart from a few good characters). I sure hope GTA6 has a much better story and is a lot more enjoyable to play than GTA5. I think GTA5 is only the big success it's been because of its online play.

GTA 5 npc are dog but rdr2 not that it’s a meant to be you can’t really play how you want and the ending where you had to do the chores was just boring as you should do chores in a video game looks good but doesn’t play that good it’s so annoying riding into something and falling off all the time at least in gta 5 no chores no fall off your vehicle except if you were on a bike rdr2 just seemed to slow and boring it insults your intelligence in well and I hated the honour system with the random events if you didn’t help them you would lose your honour or if someone threatened to shoot or talked smack you kill them and lose honour rdr2 didn’t have that same feeling as other rockstars games did like when you walked around grove street in gta sa you knew you were a powerful force and wipe everyone out and there would be no consequences but in rdr2 your held back on a leash god forbid you kill someone who just threatened you and you killed everyone in the town and you build up a 10 trillion bounty and if it was realistic sandie or no females would be in the gang and Lenny Javier Charles Strauss in the Wild West not all the cultures were holding hands like the vander Lin gang in rdr2 so history inaccurate rdr2 not the greatest game I can think of heaps of better games then rdr2

Actually I was playing gta 5 and i was Trevor and customised a truck going up on the moutain off-roading between Paleto bay and sandy shores and a weed icon popped on my map and I’m like WTF and it was sidemission it was weed farm Trevor can raid for like 50000 you only get it once and if you die there’s no way you can do it again
