Nice footage I enjoyed the video if you can keep making these they're awesome. Zone 10 los americas really nice area when I visited I Wana say I had the best time there riding my bike back and forth. That area looks clean kinda odd to hear someone freak out about a shooting but then again it is the city and every city is random so. Best thing I can say is avoid red zones which are the most dangerous. Good video footage I enjoyed hopefully your trip to guatemala was mostly good

Franco, thanks for the feedback, means a lot. I do have other Guate videos I want to make once we finish the Euro trip. I´ll just stay away from the sketchy neighborhoods, jaja

We have never had a problem in the Zone 13/Zone 14 area. We also stay in Zone 10 sometimes and I have stayed in Zone 4 many times as well.

Yes, I have also stayed at Zone 10 and Zone 4. It is worth mentioning that those are other good areas to stay at in the city :)

@@carmina6176 Ese apartamento sí tiene lindas plantas. A mí me encantan y fue de lo primero que noté. Pero ya no estoy ahí, era un Airbnb.

As a Guatemalan who knows the capital city and other cities and towns around the country fairly well, while also having some experience traveling to other parts of the world, my perspective is one of comparison of stats. The Guatemala capital is populated. According to 2023 data estimates, it has around 1.3 million people, and if the entire metropolitan area which encompasses other surrounding municipalities is taken in account, the population rises to about 3.3 million inhabitants. So it has a population roughly comparable to that of the population within the Los Angeles City limits. However, it has 113 sq miles less in area and a gdp comparable to that of Albuquerque. Infrastructure has improved alot within the city, but wealth is very unevenly distributed, so contrasts in city zones and quality of life within socioeconomic classes is very marked, which does produce friction. According to the Igarape Homicide Monitor, the homicide rate was of 47.8 homicides per 100,000 habitants during 2023, comparable to the rates registered in Detroit and Memphis, positioning it as the highest rate within Central American cities. So this is just a bit of hard data that may help you take a well based decision stat wise.

Very interesting. I do agree that unfortunately the capital is a bit overpopulated.
