Idk how I got to your channel, but I needed to see this 😂. My wife has 4c hair, but her hair is shorter in the crown than the rest, which makes her hair look thin. Her stylist told her she should cut her hair even so it could grow out full, which meant her hair would have to be cut to mid ear length. My wife was not having it. I'm going to show her this video. Nice progress!

Oh wow, you wouldn't believe me when I tell you this... I stumbled across this vid of yours: "November 2023 (3rd Trim" just this morning.. and I was hooked. Not only does your client have the same hair texture and density as me but I am also experiencing thinning for some reason. I find you truly fascinating! I have been subbed to you for quite some time now, and I always thought you were a special stylist and individual. TT's hair looks beautiful, love the hairstyle. Her 2024 trim looks more like a dusting. Pre-detangle, thoroughly rinsing before shampooing, and washing in sections helps so much with knots, for me. It does add time to washing but it's worth it.

I noticed around 24:59 that some of her hair looks sort of "see-through." I don't mean this in a rude way because mine does as well, even after I get a fresh cut! I have naturally fine strands. Anyway, I think it's great how you didn't cut that off just for the typical aesthetic salon look, but only cut what’s necessary. Not to compare, but average stylists cut anything that’s "see-through," even if it’s not split or damaged! These videos are so eye-opening. Please continue to help your beautiful sisters learn how to better care for our hair. It’s helpful and means A lot. I’m hopeful that my hair WILL be healthy again.

Yes I've already explained and demonstrated that that happens when the hair flares out and doesn't align consistently with each other. When you watch me comb the hair for the trim you won't see it looking see thru. I've explained that it's a natural phenomenon with fine textured hair because you will always see more negative space due to the hair being thinner

What I instructed her to do, which is to just gently mist her hair with water once a week and tie it down for bed. She doesn't miss appointment nor does she touch her hair, except to just takedown her previous style

Should hair grease be used even if you exclusively do wash and gos? I'm thinking about incorporating it but I don't even know at what point I would use it in my routine. At the end as a finisher kind of like an oil?

Tbh it doesn't really work. You can use it but it's going to work against your gel or styling product

We have all the bases covered. She does as i instruct her to do at home. She doesn't ever touch her hair at all and her hair is exactly where I like to see it at 6 months. There's really nothing else for us to address and fix. She's a woman of a certain age and that comes with it's own challenges when it comes to hair. We are retaining length, retaining moisture, and retaining health.

Random q: I know you encourage brushing to remove shed hair but in a detangling video you said brushes just may not be for everyone's hair. Do you still encourage brushing for those people or exclusively finger detangle?

@@alixgiggles5329 I meant that for some people and textures they will need to do more finger detangling to get thru their hair vs brushing. If your hair is well finger detangled, you should be able brush thru it easily
