If you ever read thr book Enders game. It gave you a massive advantage in the combat in Homeworld especially in multi-player battles. The enemy gate is down

@@McDangerously On the missions before specifically the one with the massive armada of Ion Cannon Frigates guarding a grav well generator keeping you from jumping to the system. Just build a couple salvage corvettes and sic them on the ion cannon frigates when you can. Done right you can make a massive armada which will help you in the final mission.

Thanks! I've just started it as well and I'm enjoying it. It has the potential to be in the sweet spot for me between EVE, which isn't so casual friendly, and Infinite Lagrange, which has more micromanaging than I like. I like that I have a small ship group to command and upgrade.

I got the homeworld demo off of a relic demo disk and fell in love with this game. I was surpirised with how much they let you do with the demo. This game has been apart of my life for many years. Im so happy my dad bought that demo disk because if he didnt i wouldve never known about this amazing series of games. Homeworld will forever have a place in my heart because it introduced me to the rts genre.

Great Video. I played Homeworld, HW2, and HW: Cataclysm. GREAT games. So imagine my excitement to find out that there is a mobile version... YAY! I just looked up and there is the manual for Homeworld on my bookshelf. And there's the problem... this game needs a manual. Or at least a LOT of tutorial screens. Downloading on phone and tablet. I joined this Friday myself i left echos and was looking for something else to play so I'm still learning myself . The recruitment tokens hire officers BTW these can be equipped into slots on the bridge escort ship slots or other places as they open up each have a bonus they give. You can also use your resource collector to repair the armor(blue bar) on any ships that have armor. Though normally enemy will target those first if they are repairing

I only recently discovered Homeworld. I had heard of it but never played. Then on steam the remastered 1+2 collection and the prequel were both 5 dollars. I bought them both and fell in love with Homeworld. Deserts of Kharak is phenomenal and then I played 1+2. Holy hell it's amazing. So I have high hopes for the mobile game. It seems to be pretty faithful to Homeworld

If you bought it on the steam. Rhen I recommend two mods together. 2.3fan patch and the mod you can set how many enemy can have ships, because the AI works the way. Bigger is your fleet, than much bigger is enemy fleet

This is what I've been looking for when I get burned out in EVE (both Echoes and the Original) it has risks but not as heavy as those, sure you can lose ships if you're not careful enough but your flagship can only be disabled, not destroyed. Emergency Warp is a button and no one can stop you from using it (and many players advice on using (a ship is about to be destroyed so you run away) and abusing it (abuse it to complete "kill x number of this type of ship" faster)) unlike in EVE where if someone has an inhibitor, good luck running away. PVP is restricted in conflict areas. So you can pretty much stay safely in stations. This also is a more tactical/strategic games and what I've been wanting from space strategy games like Lagrange, the ability to call shots and decide who goes where and which of the enemy fleet to kill first, or how to split my fleet into two. If I were to describe this game, this is Diet Coke Starsector

The side the blue circle above the triangle. Those are friendly units thats where they place relics, and artifacts. My biggest gripe was when Im going through the tier 0 missions and in ch 5 they ask you to make a interceptor but they pull up the tier 1 interceptor which is almost impossible to make at that time and in no way does it make you believe you can make the tier 0 ship

Homeworld remastered has great mods I love complex evo for new versions which is finalizing production with multi campaign complete and factions. The old versions come with it as well so complex 9 for originals.

Ohh, NetEase finally released the May, 2021 balance update! Time to play, yea! End of joke. So, as long as they stayed true to the spirit of this game, it's a gem. Had loads of fun playing back in 1999-2001. It was quite a challenging strategy game as well.

Oh man. I seriously got goosebumps when I saw its add. I downloaded immediately and going not bad so far but i realised how much i missed the first game on pc. I may download again and have a bit of nostalgia. If the mobile version will be one of those games where big pockets rules the world i might skip it. 1 Insignia are used for upgrading officers 2 go assignments and you have a star in the corner with the exit button that will give priority to the mission then you will see a few stations those stations will give you a mission do 2 and that's the mission done yes only like this you will see the station names and even then not all

The symbols at 3:50 - 4:00 are very similar if not the same to the ones in Homeworlds 1 and 2. I cant tell you which one is which off the top of my head but in general they are "attack all enemies on sight" / "attack target attacking me/allies" / and "attack specified target or nothing at all no matter what" at least that's how they work in the pc Homeworld games.

I started playing in 1999. Can call it my favorite game of all time. I was very bummed out when Sierra stopped supporting the servers around 2003 (?). I was excited to learn of the mobile version of the game. I played the beta: meh. Like you said, more of a MMO than the original RTS. I think I will wait awhile longer, wait and see what kind of following it gathers. For now, for me, back to Infinite Lagrange...

Yes I remember playing it long time ago also but at the time I had 4 young teenagers that purity much put a stop on my gaming world. Plus I hit a brick wall when they introduced a virus that acted like the borg in star trek. And found myself running away just trying to stay alive. I never figured it out cause by the time I tryed to play again my system was to old or desk top was shot. So if they do like they did in the past be very careful on how to play. Shit may hit the fan. I used to follow you back in EVE echoes days, but early on i noticed Echoes turned into EVE and became a PC game and no longer a mobile game. This game seems to be more co-op which changed the entire community to be friendly and helpful instead of toxic and rude which is such a great breath of fresh air. The end game is my biggest concern, Pvp is locked to tier of ships, but i think as long as events and end game is looked after, i could play this game a good long while.

I enjoy the game personally. I've been playing it a bit more than echoes. It isn't exactly newcomer friendly though, it's almost like it was designed exclusively to suck the nostalgic back into the franchise. The "tutorial" phase is extensive and doesn't remotely hold your hand. I've been playing for days and I've still got stuff locked behind "story" progress/tutorial. I know that's not exactly selling it but idk... It's just one of those experiences you can't get with other games, kinda like eve. Edit: the crashes seem to be entirely related to things like crate opening and similar loading screens. It seems like the thing still goes through, you just gotta obnoxiously close and reopen the game. Like, it's fun, it's just obtuse.

You just have to use interface more... right pannel, enemy fleet, your fleet, neutrals and asteroids... also there is new stuff in market. You probably did not played many adventure games or eve online... when I started playing beta HWM I did not have your problems. UI is pretty easy to use and user friendly

I been playing from launch, yes game has very minimum direction and information regarding the different icons in the game. However part of discovering what things are and what they do if the information isn't given to you is to just tap on it and see what happens. Life is about trial and error, most of which is self taught if not all. So I like not having my hand held all the time and understanding how things work on my own terms, doing it that way I get a better understanding what 'I' should be doing and how it should be done based on what I found out. Benzie, I love you to pieces but come on lol tapping on only half your icons to understand what passive, defensive and aggressive tactics are for your ships is only half of understanding the game. If you can go that far, surely you could have done so with the rest of the icons on the far right of your screen to figure out before you uploaded the video that the massive blue circle shows objectives and neutral entities and allied targets. Just saying lol.

Loving this after leaving EE. People work together to defend mining operations, the NPC challenge is decent as long as you don't buy level ll kit straight off. Takes time and grind to build. Long push info pop-ups would be a huge improvement!!! Still quite buggy but loads more FUN to play vs EE...

I played the original ones on the PC back when it came out. The moment I heard there's a mobile game, 1 question pops in my mind; can I move vertically? I search on youtube, then answer is no. Worse yet, the carrier can fight. So it's a hard pass for me. Just look at the fighters from 15:35 to 15:46. They can't even dogfight properly. I don't want to sound overly dramatic, but that makes me feel sick. But hey, I'm glad you like the mobile game. My advice in case you decide to jump into the PC games & got overwhelmed by the 3D field. Fleet Command (space bar) mode is your friend.

Yeah I'm with you with most of them points. I will add that the game does very much feel empty. It does quickly become a repeating game and it feels a bit boring at times. Another thing is that I hope that story hasn't ruined homeworld 3 by pretty much giving it away. The galaxy I wouldn't mind having mire freedom to Rome around to random parts of systems rather than jumping to specific points all the time. I also wouldn't mind having more escort slots than just the 1. Maybe 2 would be better.

@@edgepixel8467 well to travel you jump between certain parts of the map for battles, missions or quests. Which I don't think is a problem however I wouldn't mind the ability to travel freely to any point on the map rather then being restricted to just the jump points.

The reason it's annoying is because they have to remove your location data and models from an area and place them anew whilst ensuring your screen correctly represents that, in real time across the network, on mobile Haha So yes a networked jump across a galaxy in real time in a virtual world does incur a time cost 😅

Yeah, I get it, but other games cope without multiple loading screens in short succession. It's made even more annoying by having to hit jump, skip the jump animation, watch the "move along the line" animation, then reach the loading screen.

Comparatively with the old game's home world is a decrease in quality audio wise it and does not strays far from old mechanics and not even improving UI wise is again not very good lacking explanation. @@captainbenzie well that could be, but you also have to consider that this is a simple mobile game. Comparably its kinda like a DLC to a normal pc or console game. These kind of games are never truly made to be perfect. At the very best they do something like Homeworld mobile, that is supposed to introduce us to the newest Homeworld 3. Nothing more.
