Although ISRO currently does not have Launchers that are as powerful as SpaceX's Falcon 9 Block V, it has a similar vehicle design philosophy (start small, pursue cost-effectiveness rather than being ambitious about making the most "powerful rockets"), this is what I like most about ISRO. Let me know what you like about ISRO below!

Actually they involve alot of students from University level for manufacturing of pico satellites and tracking of satellites...so cost of operations comes down. ..I was even interested to join that but didn't got the opportunity...

One of The Greatest Indian ever , our President A P J Abdul Kalam . He was a scientist in ISRO. I doubt we'll get those Golden times once again. Our country is having a serious loss in scientific temper maintained by those pioneers. Serious stupidity is spread by uneducated politicians . We need educated visionaries as our leaders. HOPE.

An impressive level of success for sure. Here in the US, I hear headlines on the radio about India's launch program but they don't discuss it in depth, rather just mention it then move along to the next story. The average person doesn't realize the tremendous resources that it took to achieve those goals! I remember reading about the PSLV-C37 multi-satellite launch and thinking it was a terrific way to make use of the technology available.

Well, I work in the manufacturing and education fields, so I love to hear about advances such as this. It's sad when there are setbacks, but the successes are triumphant! Of course. But they'll make 2-3 hours of documentaries on poverty situation within India.. Yeah of course, poverty exists, income gap is widening, but they forget, a country which used to make up approximately 25% of the global GDP in 1800s, was left to only 1% of the global GDP after 1947. I feel sad, how western media is responsible for demoralizing many of us into believing we are literally filth when we definitely aren't, and they're on the god tier.

Warp drives, no, but many other works for sure. India has always been the leader in science dating back pre-bharat even. Westerners like to take all the credit in history books. But it was cause of the EAST, that a middle east was created and term bazaars were coined. For example. 1. The exoskeleton suits that can be made, using solar radiation as fuel of some sort. 2. Rovers size of range rovers. 3. Better rockets. 4. Since space is so wide open and unexplored creating fuel efficiency, is top priority. 5. Moon stations to explore further into space into the solar systems. The amount of mining alone will make this solar system into something else for humans.

Despite America “winning” the space race against the Soviet Union by beating them to the Moon, look at who has actually built the most successful and long lasting vehicles and manned space program. NASA, through the government funding, may have had more resources and money then the USSR, they actually fell behind. ISRO may not have the funding, but dedication and hard work may pay off in the end. SpaceX had to reply in innovation and cost saving measures to build their company. In my opinion it has put them ahead of NASA and I feel that ISRO may be in the position to do the same.

ISRO's MIP had already discovered water but the paper was sent to NASA for confirmation. On Sep 24 NASA published their papers. On Sep 25, 2009 ISRO announced that they had discovered water on moon. Recent announcements were in continuation to previous NASA announcements. Agencies acknowledged that MIP discovered water before M3 but NASA published their papers a day before. As for Dr Abdul Kalam, he will go down in history as one of the greatest Indians ever to live with the likes of Shivaji Mahraj, Netaji, Samrat Ashok, Chanakya, Kalidasa and so many more. India was only second country after China to develop rockets few hundred years ago. And first to use in war. These Indian and Chinese old rockets were reverse engineered by Europeans to make their own versions of it and go somewhere from there. But around 1990s these same countries refuse to sell India engine to power their rockets. But finally Russians came to rescue and helped with the supply of engine and Indian scientists were able to make their own.

Its easy to look at big agencies like NASA and think that they waste money on frivolous things, or just be critical. NASA has to devote funding to continuously support the missions that are on going in the Solar System. They have to fund teams to track Satellites (even manage rovers), process data, and research. I wouldn't be surprised if the IRSO used some of NASA's systems to track the Satellites that they put into orbit. I'm happy for the IRSO. They are punching low and hard, reminding everyone that there is plenty of innovation out left in the field, and that more money does not = more getting done/accomplished.

Also to mention as many people dont know that US and major western countries put sanctions on India during its nuclear bomb testings in 90s..Depriving it from gaining technology and access to space activities..ISRO then had to rely on indeginous and limited resources. Yet evolved unique, cost-effective and better success ratio than many space rocket launching agencies..
