Depends on what fasting, water fast IS superior because you burn around 2-3k of calories per day, most of which will be fat. Combined with light weighlifting and cardio such as walking is a great way of losing weight and preserving most of the muscle mass during the fast. Plus a water fast will make you feel better than ever and it's super easy.

How it makes you feel is subjective and different from person to person. As far as superior, If you average the calories across the week of a standard calorie deficit vs one achieved by fasting, you're not going to achieve superior results from fasting.

@@RyanTreadaway "As far as superior, If you average the calories across the week of a standard calorie deficit vs one achieved by fasting, you're not going to achieve superior results from fasting." Not sure what you mean by that, I have no idea how you would have an 2-3k deficit on a standard calorie deficit where 500 calories is best imo. (what I mean here is that on a water fast your body will burn up pretty much 2-3k calories, in pure deficit, there is literally no better way to burn fat other than surgically just removing it or whatever.) I was purely talking about water fasting, where you quite literally don't eat anything, did 2 7-day water fasts myself and it helped me lose around 3-4kilo of fat and made me feel way better! I'm currently waiting for a appointment with my diabetologist (or however you would say it in english) to possibly go on a longer fast under supervision.

It also helps you get less "want" for food, less, personally I've noticed I don't crave sugars at all now, sweet stuff isn't as appealing now, I think even only that is a great boon from my water fasts, not to mention the improvement in my mental state.

@@TheFrierenLolibabaLover I didn't realize you were talking about that long of a fast. I don't want my clients to be in that deep of a deficit for that long. The more of a deficit you're in, the more lean body mass you'll lose. So yes, if you're in a 2k calorie deficit per day you'll lose more but losing that much that fast isn't necessarily a good thing unless someone is 100s of pounds over weight and needs to lose weight immediately in order to avoid major immediate health consequences. As far as reducing the want for food, that's subjective. In some instances, for some people, your absolutely right. For others, it has the opposite effect. I've had clients who have tried fasts in the past and all they could think about is food.

Fasting is key in breaking the augar addiction. Not to mention the testosterone boost and the focus invrease.... if u dont know u dont know.

Show me studies that support this. I'll wait.

@@RyanTreadaway "studies".... i can show u a study proving anything u want. I trust those like i trust a used car salesman... if i thought for a second linking in a study would change your mind i would. But it wont.. lol. If u have to eat every two hours or u get hangry, u are broken. Intermittent fasting as they call it is normal state. U should not need to eat every two hours..... it should not be hard.... If that is u, training to fast is an important tool..... noone should have to eat wvery two hours.

@@Urbanhuskies I do intermittent fasting. I didn't say fasting was bad. I said it wasn't superior.

but if it makes it easier to restrict your calorie intake doesn’t that means it helps? and if it helps with weight loss doesn’t that mean it works?

You're absolutely correct. I didn't say it didn't work though. Lol I simply said it wasn't superior.
