Well I don't know if we're going to get a Mario and Luigi RPG game ever since Japanese developer Alphadream went bankrupt 4 years ago I don't think we're going to get a Mario and Luigi RPG game anytime soon.

Alphadream's Mario rpgs were always my favorite. They have a goofy charm that i loved. The puzzles, battles, and stories were brilliant. It was really heartbreaking hearing they went bankrupt. I was really hyped for a possible partners in time remake, but it never came.

I really miss those Mario & Luigi games. My favorite was Mario & Luigi: Dream Team I grew up with, but I didn't beat the game, including the Superstars Saga remake which I didn't beat at all. And I'm really hoping that there can a new Mario & Luigi game that can continue the series.

The Brothership art style is basically a slight variation of the 3d models that were in Dream Team and Paper Jam. I'm guessing the thumbnail is from Paper Jam during the 3d papercraft boss fights.

No matter how long it takes and who makes it, I’m pretty confident we’ll get another M&L at some point. It’s a popular enough sub-franchise and I think Nintendo respects its history pretty well so I think we’ll either see a remaster eventually or hopefully a new entry.

He was involved in many Square soft games like Mario RPG, Final Fantasy 5, Bushido Blade, and more importantly Xenogears. Xenoblade is made by Monolith Soft, which run by Tetsuya Takahashi. He also worked at Square with his biggest project being Xenogears.

I don't know. Superstar Saga 3DS sold poorly and Bowser's Inside Story 3DS sold *TERRIBLY*. It's one of the worst selling Mario games of all time. Also, what game would be remade? They already covered the best two. Partners In Time is considered the worst by many, so Dream Team then?

I rembember seeing a letsplay of superstar saga as a kid and loving that game, so i asked my dad to get it to me for my birthday, only to then discover that it was for the gameboy advance when i thought it was for the 3ds😭. When they announced the remake i was the happiest kid alive😭😭(sorry for the bad english im italian)

Io invece non mai avuto la possibilità di giocare l'originale su GBA, infatti quest'anno, (dopo qualche sacrificio) sono riuscito a recuperare il remake per 3ds ad un prezzo onesto di circa 20€. Parlando del gioco mi è piaciuto, ci ho giocato più di 50 ore (contando anche i scagnozzi di Bowser ovviamente). Spero in futuro in un remake su Switch di Mario & Luigi Fratelli nel Tempo, dato che è l'unico che non mai potuto giocare. Chissà il prossimo anno potrebbe essere la volta buona per far uscire il gioco almeno spero.

Mario e luigi fratelli nel tempo è il mio secondo mario e luigi preferito(dopo superstar saga appunto). L'ho preso totalmente a casao parecchi anni fa ad un mercatino dell'usato a circa 15€ ed è stato il gioco ad introdurmi al mondo di mario e luigi e degli rpg in generale. Spero anche io in un remake futuro anche se non so come faranno visto il problema dei due schermi, comunque speriamo bene😅

I honestly feel more sad that there is no Mario & Luigi 6 because series had to end then that Paper Mario fell out of grace. Mario & Luigi was pretty consistent with the quality while gameplay-wise Paper Mario lost it on Super (though it wasn't THAT bad, and story was great) and lost it story-wise on Sticker Star. The only reason Paper Jam is the worst M&L game is because it's a bit too basic and is crossover between M&L and POST-Sticker Star PM. I really want M&L 6, and maybe if it will come out, perhaps Wario and Waluigi will appear (I will everyone wants that at this point).

I would love to see the elemental power from Superstar Saga return and they add more elements to it like wind, earth, or water. They can also adds more Bros attacks with it, even combining the elements like thunder and wind to make a hurricane or water and wind to make whirlpool. My top 5: I personally don’t want Intelligent systems to do Mario and Luigi seeing as they do the paper Mario games. And having the same studio do both may make both games too similar 1. Grezzo: I think it’s time Nintendo trusts them. To make a new game instead of just a remake 2. Next level games: they develop the Luigi mansion game so they know Luigi personality the best and have a good understanding of Mario games in general. Plus Luigi mansion 3 is beautiful. 3. Hal laboratories: every game they release is great or amazing. Plus it been nice to see them do something different then Kirby. 4. Monolith soft: I believe Monolith would do a incredible job making Mario & Luigi, but I’ll rather have them made original and then just work on the Nintendo ones. 5. Mercurysteam: Metroid dread was incredible let see what they can do with Mario and Luigi.

Very cool idea, but that would mean Nintendo has less incentive to make new ones after it as some fans would be satisfied. Think of how long it took till we got Super Mario Wonder after Mario Maker 2. After SMM2, it was a long while till we got a full on new release of a 2D Mario game, and not a port. Sure, the devs had to come up with original ideas to make it worthwhile to buy it, but there was a considerable long amount of time till the game got announced. Till that got announced our only form of any new 2D Mario content was levels made by players. I feel that at least is partially why it took so long till we heard of a brand new 2D Mario game being released. And I wasn't being sarcastic when I said your idea was cool, it genuinely is, I just feel it'd make it take longer before Nintendo did anything completely new for the Mario & Luigi series.

If I could, I would make that new Mario and Luigi game myself. And one of my ideas include custom pairs where you can pick the two characters you want. You could pair Mario and Luigi together of course, but also Mario and Wario, Luigi and Waluigi, Peach and Daisy, Mario and Bowser. But you would not be limited to the obvious pairs. If you want to pair Peach and Wario together, sure why not ?

The best thing about Mario and Luigi games was the stories that they had were so well built and they could also cook up a great OST. I can rememeber alot of the music, wether it be overworld, mini boss or the final boss musics which were usually one of the biggest highlights of M&L. What I think may happen which could result in a new game or a comeback is that usually with nintendo fans they switch to different games they want back and if a game hasn't had a new project, mostly everyone starts to jump on the wagon to push for a new game. I only hope that happens with M&L, its got to be favourite franchises from the mario lineup.

The Mario & Luigi series brought me into RPG games back when I first played Bowser's Inside Story on the DS, continued until this day when the remake of Super Mario RPG was released. It was such a sad turn for Alphadream to go like they did, bringing to us a series that has charm and laughs like no other (if only they had remade Partners in Time so that I would have played them all). If Nintendo does bring that kind of RPG gameplay, I would be interested if they will keep the artstyle or refresh it with something new like what Mario Wonder did for the 2D platform series.

Fact. Was about to say "fun" but it is not. Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey is one of the worst selling Mario games of all time, selling worse than Virtual Boy Mario and the infamous Hotel Mario. To be clear: 3DS is one of the best selling consoles of all time, yet M&L: BIS+BJJ sold worse than games from Virtual Boy and Philips CDi.

He was involved in many Square soft games like Mario RPG, Final Fantasy 5, Bushido Blade, and more importantly Xenogears. Xenoblade is made by Monolith Soft, which run by Tetsuya Takahashi. He also worked at Square with his biggest project being Xenogears.

Unless a new company who willingly to reboot the Mario and Luigi rpg have appeared or Alphadream is revived from their bankruptcy, I’m feared that all we will be getting are remakes/remaster to the original rpg series :/ it happened with the Mario rpg.

Mario Rpg superstar saga as much as I love the others there not sequels or anything close A Mario Rpg 2 would be great an would sell like the Remake did which at right now 301k units in 1st 2 days not counting digital. So saying there 3 an 4 Mario Rpgs id have to say hun your wrong there only one.

I don't think Nintendo can find any other company who can develop like Alphadream, although they made strange choices they managed to create one of the best mario games ever "Bowser's inside story"

Well if a new mario and Luigi game comes out i think it should be called mario and Luigi reality switch! where an evil scientist send Mario and Luigi to earth where they need to defeat real life dangers and Mushroom kingdom dangers and the scientist is the final boss instead of Bowser. But Bowser is mario and luigis partner instead of enemy. ❗

I feel like if they ever bring it back, they might do something similar to Miitopia(minus the Miis) where it focuses more than just Mario and Luigi. This could also be the first non sports/Party game Waluigi could appear in as he can basically be one of many the characters, you can Mix and match with( Which is what my idea for a subtitle would be as your Pairing characters for matched against enemies).

Perhaps a fan might make a spiritual successor that builds upon the ideas of the M&L series while implementing their own magic to create not just a game that can match the classic series, but show just what the series could be.

The Mario and Luigi RPG games are some of my favourite Mario games there are. I would consider them to be the best Mario rpg series, especially because of the combat. Being able to avoid and damage your enemy when they attack you, the bros attacks, giant boss fights, playing as bowser, dreamy Luigi, paper Mario etc. Such a creative and great series and I would love to see a new game, even if it’s not created by AlphaDream.

The reason M&L didn’t do well bc like nobody owned a handheld at that time until the switch finally came out and revived Nintendo. I bet you if they released remakes or a new title there would be success

everyone had a 3Ds, just no one cared since the switch was out. i think a new M&L game would do alright but it won’t do as well as fans think. these games have never sold amazingly.
