I’ve been pondering this question for 9 months now and this video helped clarify things immensely. I’m 36 and have been on trt for almost three years taking 120 mg a week. The only reason I was concerned about coming off was due to health reasons long term. I love how I look and feel otherwise. Being someone that already struggles with things like depression and insomnia I’m not even going to chance coming off. It’ll actually be healthier for me to stay on for my particular situation.

I’m 29 and got prescribed 3 years ago test cyp and HCG. My levels were 600 ng/dcl but I thought I’d hit the jackpot when I had a doc willing to prescribe it. His reasoning was I was too skinny (6’3” around 175 lbs. Muscular, but very thin). Since getting on I have gotten up to about 200 and strength has improved a lot. My reason for wanting to get off is that I think it’s causing emotional volatility. I’m navigating the world of dating and find myself getting extremely emotionally attached too quickly and easily feel intense anxiousness when it comes to partners. I don’t think I had this issue before… I also have an astronomically high sex drive that usually partners cannot keep up with. my levels hover around 1200 ng/dl. Could there be any truth to my theory about the emotional issues? Other than that I have nothing but positive effects.

I'm 48 and have been on trt (test cyp @160 mg per wk) for about 4 1/2 years. My total T is consistently at 1200 and free T near 30 with zero side-effects. I began tapering off about two months ago by gradually lowering the dose. My reasons are that I believe supply chains and the economy will soon become so FUBAR that it will not be practical to continue, so I may as well stop on my own terms before it gets taken away abruptly. I can also see trt being banned at some point because it contributes to "toxic masculinity"

Hello there, I have testicular atrophy (1 of my testes its smaller than a peanut, the other one got smaller due to a varicocele, so I basically have "half a testicle"), and for more than 4 years I have been experiencing low energy, fatigue, have gain abdominal fat, sleep troubles, total loss of libido, ED and so on. So I went to see 2 urologists, both of them recommend me TRT but an endocrinologist said that I wasn't TRT candidate due to my "T" levels were within normal range. Since "T" normal range it's very wide, I thought that maybe being within this "normal" range (400ng/dl in my case), does not necessarily mean that my body has healthy "T" levels to work properly?? Could I be candidate for TRT? Thanks

Saying TRT is replacing something you don't have is kinda misleading. It gives the impression that it supplements existing testosterone. And that's what I believed. When in fact it replaces existing testosterone production. Which took a bit of research before I understood that.

@@gregread935 yes but very few clinics tell you about that.....am thinking very few people on TRT actually need it....most men can function just fine on test levels of 300 or above .....men don't need test levels of 1000 to live a normal life (at these levels your playing with fire i.e. cancer/blood pressure/kidney/liver problems) not many are talking about the bad effects of having test levels in 1000's because it takes time for those effects to show.....eat good foods/work on less stress/get more quality sleep and hit the gym with cardio and most will be fine.....but this route takes work and that's not a popular way of thinking today....

I'm 22 and recently did some blood work. Everything came back fine except my test. My free was 5.19 ng/dl and my total test was 118 ng/dl. Although, that blood was taken at about 2 p.m. so they are not the most accurate. Did two more blood tests at about 9 a.m. and have a consultation with a trt doctor this Tuesday. I have about every symptom of low test, fatigue, low energy, low concentration, lower sex drive, etc. I also have moderate gyno and cannot seem to lose fat around my chest even with a good diet and intense exercise. Hoping to get my test levels up to or around 700-1000 (1000 might be a bit of a reach, but I want to start seeing results in the gym again.) I'm guessing the odds of me ever getting off trt (if my recent test levels are that low) are slim to none. I probably should have listened to all of the random people on forums when I was 18 to stay the fuck away from prohormones, especially at 18. We live and we learn I guess?

@@HealthEri 2 years on trt and things are going good. A few things to note: 1. I may never be able to have children, which sucks. But hey adoption is always an option. 2. If you are an avid gym goer, the temptation to take performance enhancers is dramatically increased, since you can essentially blast and "cruise". Overall, if you need it, do it. Finding the right doc is hard though, especially if you move. Evaluate the pros and cons, sticking a needle in your ass 1-2 times a week with all of the repercussions that come with it (so far, nothing but positives for me besides potentially not being able to have kids) vs. feeling the way it feels to have low T. Starting dose was 200mg divided into two shots per week. Anxiety was very high. Cut the dose to 100mg a week divided by two shots. Anxiety got a lot better, but was still there. I just had it lowered to 40mg per week divided by 2 shots. I’ll see how it goes, but if it doesn’t work, what is my best option? Go to HCG? I’m feeling kind of desperate. Thanks

I too have struggled with horrendous anxiety and bipolar triggered by TRT. I have been on 3 years and consistently reduced my dose - I found out my SHBG is low and my Free T is sky high even with tiny doses. In order to balance things out I’m at 10mg a day now on daily shots and after a TON of counseling and other mental work, I’m feeling decent consistently. But I do eventually want to come off - it makes my mood swings way more intense - and makes anxiety when it does happen unbearable, I’ve just done the work in therapy to reduce the anxiety so it doesn’t happen often. Many don’t realize that T can be potently activating and keep the body in a constant “on” state. My levels are currently 680 or so, thinking about dropping to 8mg daily to get some further stability.

Tapering off of T is important since your body will need a couple of weeks to restart its natural production of the hormone. Though abruptly stopping treatment isn’t dangerous, it can cause serious discomfort." @ www.vaulthealth.com/blog/articles/common-questions-about-testosterone under Common Myth #2 So if that's correct, it should take about two weeks once you're off the stuff.

I’ve been experiencing the same issue. Test e, 2 years, felt great for first year+, but have had increasing anxiety levels since. I have lost a significant amount of weight taking the test and wonder if my body doesn’t tolerate it as well because of it. I’ve recently cut my dose down to 125/week split, every 4 days. It seems to help a little with the initial, post injection anxiety I get within 24hrs. The anxiety goes away more quickly, but is still there. I think my next step is to get back in the gym and work/build my body to see if it helps tolerate the injections better.

I"m 60. I was on TRT for the last 5 years under doctors care. My dosage was 420 every 7 days in order to maintain a normal range. They said I must just metabolize it more than other people. My blood pressure went up, my hematocrit got high enough that I had to donate blood frequently. I could actually feel the difference after I would give blood....less "pressure" in my body and less "red-face". I hated the oily skin and shiny face and acne around my waist and butt near the injection site. My EKG showed issues and I had to go through a bunch of cardiac testing. The TRT gave me a short-term benefit of feeling a little better but only about 2 days after the injection and not for long. The best benefit was that it helped me stay a bit leaner. I'm now off of it and the blood pressure issues are gone. I have to work a bit harder to keep weight off and my libido is still high (it always was). I don't think I'm going back on it as the cons for me outweigh the pros in my eyes. It looks like the doctor in this video is definitely on TRT (shiny face, increased vascularity in the arms). I hope others have better long term results than me.

Hi I'm 61, been on trt for 6 yrs and I to am having all kinds of issues. I'm taking meds for controlling my blood pressure and lunesta to help with my insomnia. Viagra for ED and when it wears off I feel like dog shit, the whites of my eyes get blood shot! I stopped taking that. The worst part is the severe fatigue in and around my eyes!! Anybody else have this issue? After reading the helpful threads, I've come to the conclusion that my doc isn't with it. My labs indicate my estradiol is high (no concern from him) and blood letting or donating is necessary because my hematocrit is high 19.2, my T level is around the 400 mark. I'm injecting 200ml a week, I even tried 100ml every fourth day to see if I could even out the highs and lows and that didn't make a difference. I get 5 hours of sleep a night and wake up feeling exhausted but continue to push through work and the gym 5 times a week. You guys think Arimdex and blood letting would be what I desperately need? Also it seems I metabolize the cypionate quickly. Appreciate your feed back.....

The top TRT experts are against the use of AI, why DR Randall love to use them?
@JeremyRemele
@JeremyRemele 4 жыл бұрын
Sergio Marin Because consistently high levels of E2 will eventually cause cardiovascular problems and kill you as a man. Estradiol causes both males and females to go straight up nuts if it’s out of range. As a man, if you’re on TRT, there’s a damn good chance your body will rapidly convert the T that injected to Estrogen extremely fast, leading to extreme lethargy, erectile dysfunction, fat gain, and gyno.
@325fitness8
@325fitness8 4 жыл бұрын
@@JeremyRemele That is not entirely true. Higher estrogen's negative impact studies are on men with low T. Testosterone to estrogen ratio matters. If your estrogen is slightly elevated but your TT is high, that is your body's way of maintaining homeostasis. You can also mitigate estrogen by splitting your dose into smaller, more frequent injections and having a clean diet and healthy lifestyle that that benefits your liver and gut health. AIs are poison and give you the potential to crash a hormone that is beneficial for bone, joint, immune, sexual, and cognitive health. Even if someone is on an AI protocol that is working, in the future it may crash them at some point. They are potent drugs and if you are living a quality lifestyle and splitting up a reasonable dose of 100-150mg they are simply not needed the vast majority of the time.
@325fitness8
@325fitness8 4 жыл бұрын
@Tony Day Even if you are prone, then splitting your dose as frequently as possible and finding the right dose is better than AI use. Not only does crashing your estrogen fuck up your bone, joint, immune, sexual, and cognitive health but arimidex/aromasin can cause some serious lipid drama. If you live a healthy lifestyle and split up a reasonable dose as frequently as need be in smaller injections, taking other drugs can cause harm to an otherwise healthy form of therapy.

I've been off 3 weeks now. And before that I tapered myself down. Felt like a beast for most of the first year and then one day it changed. Wish I never started.

Doc is correct. A guy crashes hard after the 3rd week of taking a Test. hiatus. My protocol is 3 months on test. (1cc per week in 2 divided does) and one month off test. The first few weeks I never notice much but that 3rd week...brain fog, low libido, less stamina, mild depression. I do use HCG during the hiatus and some over the counter herbs, etc. but its not the same. Lets just say I am counting down the days until Oct. 1 when I go back on the test.

I started TRT in March. Doc started me at 1ml every other week for about first bottle of test cyp, then did bloods and bumped it up to 1.5ml eow. I had enough from my first bottle to up it 1.5 ml twice or one more month. Felt overall a lot better even at 1ml than I did before trt. After several weeks into the 2nd bottle though at 1.5ml eow I started feeling really tired and then spent almost 2 weeks in bed with zero energy, Barely felt like even getting up to eat. Went in for bloods again after about 6 weeks into the 2nd bottle and waited for them which takes about 10=15 days only to find out the doc is no longer going to prescribed injections, only pellets for trt. Those bloods came back with me at 1000 total test compared to being at 1500 the time before. So increased dosage, but came back with less amounts in my bloodwork? What the hell happened to me, did I crash from the 2nd bottle. I ask because from after I started the 2nd bottle, I never felt well. The other thing worth mentioning is I had headaches all the time all day and even waking up with headaches. So, right now it has been 3 weeks since I last pinned and although I still feel about like I did before ever starting trt, I am at least not feeling crappy and stuck in bed unable to move and the headaches are gone. Thinking since the pharmacy is a compounding pharmacy that they didn't mix that 2nd bottle right if at all. The first bottle I could feel within a few days from injecting my energy and strength improving. Right now, I am on nothing. I have about a third of that 2nd bottle left and seriously not going to hit it again. Either have to find a new doc or a better alternative to getting real Test.. Thanks and all the best

We do now. TRT is now known to protect the cardiac system better than low t. Also, there has been successful treatment using TRT for patients with prostate cancer. They're finding high estrogen levels are causing prostate issues, not TRT. The "reefer madness" mindset for testosterone is fading away...thankfully. Ive been on for close to 12 years, no issues here. I have friends that are in their 70s that have been using testosterone since their 40s. Don't believe the negative hype. No-one bats an eye if a woman's doctor has her on estrogen but all the sudden testosterone for a male will kill you? No not happening if done properly....
