In Kenya, we have two distinct practices for the regular church and the Adoration chapel. We enter church with shoes but we typically take off our shoes before entering the adoration chapels in most parishes, which are usually carpetted. They usually have shoe racks right outside. A bit like the mosque. It's also customary, once inside the Adoration chapel, to press our foreheads to the floor/carpet, before the exposed Eucharist in the monstrance, rather than only genuflecting.

Interesting questions and answers as always. Best wishes to the schoolchildren in attendance for the recording it this episode. The 3 on screen handled themselves well in public speaking in front of the camera. That's impressive 😊 May God bless each of them and each of you.

Here in India everyone takes off their footwear before entering the Church. It would be considered extremely rude to wear shoes inside.

Here in India, we don't enter Church by wearing shoes and clothes at all? Achha? Too kaise how we enter the Church? Instead because of growing up in a certain culture many take the shoes off while approaching the Tabernacle or the priest or the bishop or perhaps you are talking about some protestant Churches which are more like entering in a house than a Church....

@SonOfThineHandmaid We don't wear shoes inside Church at all?
@SonOfThineHandmaid10 күн бұрын
@@Sayantan805 no, we don't at all. I live in Chennai and I've never seen anyone wear shoes during Mass, it would be unthinkable. Even outside of Mass when the Church is empty, if you're going in to pray you take off your shoes first.

I’ve often wondered if it’s OK to not sing along with hymns in mass.
@jendoe943610 күн бұрын
I think it will be okay to not sing along if one doesn’t want to or maybe can’t. Perhaps the hymn is in a key one can’t comfortably match, the tempo is difficult to follow, or maybe you are better able to focus during the service if you don’t sing along. Part of the idea of singing along at the proper parts is to show one is present and engaged with the service. But if others are singing along and are engaged in the service, then it’s unlikely the one who isn’t singing will be noticed so long as they are also engaged. Now if there’s only like two people in attendance, then yeah it may be polite to sing along so the priest isn’t on his own or to add on to the occasion of the mass. Or you have a priest like my college one who liked opening and closing music so out of respect to him you try to sing along in the missal with your off key-ness 😂

Sometimes people don't get a satisfactory answer, so they ask others to try to get a better answer and may even have a sufficient reason to reference who gave them the unsatisfactory answer. They may not be trying to cause any tension or discomfort. Catholic apologists and scholars can disagree on some things respectfully.

I get how you get both the body and the blood in the host, but how can you get the body of Christ from His Precious Blood? Makes no sense.
@dddmakbema142110 күн бұрын
Before communion is distributed, the priest mixes a tiny piece of the Body in with the Blood and says a prayer so physically both elements are in the chalice.

To be holy means to be set apart for God's purpose. Holy Mary and the Holy Father the Pope were set apart by God for VERY special purposes.

I actually did go to a church once in Newark, I did it for a laugh but nobody else was laughing. The Pastor acted as if he was afraid of me after I introduced myself to him, he kept staring into my eyes, his voice was trembling and he kept backing away from me, I could feel fear in his eyes, the other people in the congregation kept as far away from me as possible, nobody spoke to me and nobody came close, one small girl was pointing at me and crying. Over all it was a good morning and I am sure I left an indelible aura in that small building. This is something I intend to repeat and I will be asking Lord Ahriman to manifest himself in my being as he did on that Sunday, Please accept blessings from Lord Ahriman. Blessed be.

@@SonOfThineHandmaid I remember when I was growing up in my early teens Mom used to drag us kids to church every Sunday to listen to the lectures and stories from the Holy rollers who preached to the congregation. I became interested in the various messages drummed into us and especially about the need to love your brother so I decided to put the concept into practice. I was upstairs in my room after the Church service loving my brother, Gee it was fun and he liked it too, maybe we were too loud because the next thing that happened was the bedroom door flew open and Mom stood there with her mouth open and a face as red as a beet. She screamed for us to put our clothes back on and then chased us down the stairs with a broom, Gee that broom handle hurt and you could hear her yelling all over the neighborhood, things were very frosty within the family for about a month, Parents are sometimes very hard for kids to understand, Jesus tells us one thing and parents tell us the opposite ....Oh well - -
