@@moart87 Quite a few hard bass lines out there, as demonstrated in the video... Just because a lot of bands write and mix the bass into nothing does not mean it is boring to play. Honestly, I find playing bass to be more fun than guitar. Sure, it is not as flashy and it is not front and center in most songs, but it has so much versitility in the way you play it that you can make it sound completely different in a heartbeat. -Also, I can tell you have never played a healer seriously... Healing is some of the most stressful, busy stuff you can do in most major end games. Keeping idiots alive as well as paying attention to the fight mechanics, your rotations, tanks cooldowns, your cooldowns, and keeping yourself alive so you can keep everyone elso alive is a lot of work. @joannayannotti9076 Жыл бұрын
@@muenchhausenmusic way to put me on the spot 😂 first thing that comes to mind is Silversun Pickups - Panic Switch. The bass comes in with drama. It’s not meant to be something in the background, it’s a very forward, loud sound. It has passion, it has purpose. Not to say that background bass isn’t important, it’s just different. Nikki is such a queen of a bass player. Stefan Osdal of Placebo is also an amazing, dramatic bassist. Any sophisticated listener listening to a Placebo track will always follow the bass. The Bitter End is a great example.

Why Bass? Well as a kid in Junior High, High School and then a few years after that I played trombone (still do) and it is in Bass Clef so I thought transferring would be easier, it wasn't but I've met so many cool players and had so much fun learning the basics of the instrument that it drug me up out of the depression I was in and has helped me cope and discover new music along the way.

Justin, could you please discuss the Rockin 1000? It all began in 2015 with a plan from a guy named Fabio Zaffagnini to convince to Foo Fighters to come and play in his town of Cesena, Italy. He organized it, they played ‘Learn to Fly’ and it went viral. His plan worked and the Foos went there and played and met with Fabio. During the show, Fabio crowd surfed all the way to the front and Dave had him sit on his guitar throne (Dave’s leg was broken at this time). There’s so much more to it than that, and you can find all the footage on KZbin. (I would post the links for you, but I’ve tried to post links in a comment in the past and KZbin deleted my comment.) In Turin, one month after Taylor died last year, the Rockin 1000 did a drums only tribute to Taylor. It was amazing - it makes me cry every single time. I believe they did another tribute to him in a stadium last May, and of course they’ve done numerous concerts and are still going strong! I don’t know of a greater example of the power and love of music than the Rockin 1000. I think everyone would enjoy this, I hope you will consider it! ❤

It was a full body workout just playing one song! And it made me respect Charles even more. Infinitely more. "8.The way too many notes phase" 😂😂😂😂 Nice one... as always👍Thanks! (Would be also great to see one day Frankie talking about some bass stuff🙏😉)

No. That's WHY it's cool. We have to tell ourselves that because everyone makes fun of us, hahaha. Charles is amazing!

Hello Justin! This comment is completely off topic and will no doubt be buried deep in this comments section to which I hope you read one day. So, in December, I lost all of my work, just before Christmas (yay) and just before my rent skyrocketed up in price (double yay). Needless to say, it's been an awful four to five months of stringing together bits of work where I can get it and diving deep into my savings to keep things afloat. Recently, I got not one, but TWO new jobs, one I started a few weeks ago as a soundie FOH for bands performing in public spaces here in Brisbane and the second job which I start next week as an associate producer for an opera company in which I work on a festival that takes opera to the outback, literally called Opera in the Outback. The reason I'm telling you all of this, is because in both interviews, I mentioned your KZbin channel and how it keeps the fire going in passion of music for me and how not only do I keep learning new stuff, but passion remains from stuff I've loved in the past. In both interviews where I mentioned your channel, I got the job! The one interview I didn't mention it, I didn't get the job, so, I'm here to say, thanks for being my interview muse, you bring good juju! I've got another interview this Friday for teaching audio work later in the year. Third times the charm? Let's hope so! Thank you again interview muse and keep up the amazing KZbin channel. You bring more joy than you probably realize to people. Love, love, Justine, the employable! xxx

I'd name drop Justin to get more work, but sadly I make crossword puzzles, so I don't think it will help 😆 Congrats on your new jobs!

@@witch_haunts_ghost Times are harsh, we all need more jobs! One of these days, I'll manage to get him in a crossword puzzle! Clue: "Brings joy and light in the darkness" 🙂

@@MariaFrancesca I LOVE IT! Your job sounds fab. Yes, indeed we do need more jobs. Or job stabililty at least, sheesh. It's been a wild time, of which I do not recommend. I can't wait to see this crossword clue one day!

New bass player in Lovebites is certainly cool. In quite a few iconic songs it's the bass beat that makes the song great.

I'd love Justin to react to a Lovebites track, preferably a live one. He's been down the Japanese rabbit hole before, but I think they'd be well up his street.

As far as I'm concerned, Charles is the new *_big dog_* in bass town.

You know bass is cool, you play with Frankie 😎 (I'm not a fan of the virtuoso bass stuff on KZbin but that's the way to get views, fair enough)

I enjoy watching your videos as I feed my 5 week old daughter. Not just because of your soothing tones, but so I can introduce her to valid musical critique at an early age.
