Just watched your episode with Kaye. It was great confirmation for me. Rest, meditate, and write my thoughts down. Stop beating myself up. It only makes things worse, not to mention that it's self-defeating the process. Patience was one of the virtues I used to take pride in, and now it's out the window. I am not sure where to begin. I am struggling to pull myself up, yet I have more compassion for other people's situations while being completely hard on myself. This is what I need to work on myself.

Great question!!! 100% resonate with this!!! Transitioning can be really unsettling and also give myself permission to rest is definitely the hard one. Nourishing the beautiful seed within you. ❤

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” Lao Tzu. I’m right there: major life transition, uncomfortable, in the messy middle. Learning a whole new level of resting, healing, nourishing, recalibration after a long, urgent-feeling burnout. Loved this episode! I feel encouraged to keep going my slow pace at the moment and enjoying the here and now as my path unfolds. I can trust myself and the universe in right timing - no need to rush. Thinking of the caterpillar turning into the butterfly. Rushing is not an option. Allow.

My aha moment was when you talked about taking a moment of pause and allowing ourselves to rest. I had a time period where I felt more ambitious and driven, but over time it slowed. I didn't realize I was burned out until my grades in college were dropping, and I got diagnosed with ADHD, which I suspect the burnout initiated. Listening to you talk about needing those moments of rests made me feel less guilty about the time I had where I wasn't writing (my passion) or working towards my other goals. Also, what you said about health resonated with me. I've found that what I put in my body, the amount of sleep I get, taking my medication, etc. is all essential to how I function throughout the day and how energized I am to work towards my goals. Now, I am nearing the end of my transition and moving towards a new chapter of my life as a 25 year old woman, and I've started writing again and engaging with content that inspires me, such as your blog, and I feel relieved to know that I am not the only ambitious, driven person that needed a break.

So good to hear this and it resignated with me and a lot of people I was just beating myself up about Never letting myself rest Type A I've been in a transition for a while now and Not having clarity about what the next move is But yes realizing through my intuition that rest is the best thing and meditation to try to get some more clarity let go and go with the flow and don't force anything so hard to do when you are an action taker but now I really don't know what action I want to take. When I let go and accept acceptance is the big thing of where I am right now I feel a bit more relaxed And not forcing to try to get clarity on what my next move is I do get frustrated though because I want things to move along

Part of me wanted to jump into why I've also wanted to do business wise however I was met with a whole host of emotions to work through and now that I'm not completely in an ugly place I'm still dealing with legalities and I end up being hard on myself saying things like may be my big dream is just that and it won't come to pass- I won't be able to earn a comfortable living for myself and my two kids. I feel like I wanted this for so long and for so long I've had to patiently do the next right thing, my business was always put on hold. This video gave me some hope that I'm in a burnout and I'm going to trust that honouring where I'm at plus having some sort of forward plan will hopefully get me out of this. Marie, thank you kindly for sharing your words of wisdom as I have been following your for a long time and you seem to either interview or have a certain topic that I needed to hear that particular day, like today. I am in this exact scenario of burnout as I just spent 7 months taking the MBG health & wellness course, which is very intense and now there is no time to breathe because I have to build the business website, so when you suggest listening to the body and burnout, taking time out, it is overwhelming that there really is not time to take a break as I need to work and build the business. It is unfortunate as it does start to take away the excitement of the business as I think I am numb with the overwhelming to-do list. As well, as trying to do it all on your own. frustration trying so hard to rebuild, re-educate and learn so many new skills and need it all done yesterday. (Age is a factor in my case) Thank you for your beautiful soul. Hugs Bree

I remember burning out some years ago. It was so bad that when my alarm went off, I couldn’t remember why I even had to get up. Once, I left the house in my slip - I had forgotten to put on my skirt! Then, when I got into the parking lot at my job, it felt like all of the air got sucked out of my car and I couldn’t breathe. I knew I had to leave that job and I didn’t know what I should do next. I had so much guilt, being single mother and feeling like I had to be “on” all the time that I couldn’t rest. I’m through all of that now, but I need to know how not to burn out again. I’m coming out of “hiatus” status in my jewelry business, but I’ve learned that I burn out very easily. I’m 54 years old and can no longer handle the pack-mule loads of pressure in my life anymore.

Still in 'The Gap', the in-between, but feeling so much better after quitting a whole lot of no-longer-fulfilling roles, focusing on my health, and preparing for the next stage, whatever that will bring. Not sure if it's relevant to Kay's life stage, but all women need to learn about peri-menopause - preferably before it happens - and save ourselves a lot of anguish & confusion. It's the end of one big chapter in a woman's life - but the beginning of a whole new one... 🌸🌱🙏

Really interesting listening to you talk about pausing and resting. That advice is so similar to what I know to be true for myself and told all my students in reference to *writing*. (I have a PhD & taught history for 10 years.) If you write something and give it a long break and look at it again much later, you see it with so much more clarity - you see mistakes and things you want to change etc. Students don't have much patience but I tell them to just get it down, don't worry about the quality, and then give it a day or two - or even a couple of hours if that's all you have. It always comes out better in the end if there is a 'rest' for the writing. So, your message is so similar - but for life! :-) Thanks for an excellent video. (Still scared but...! ;-))

We love this! That's such great writing advice. Most of the time, we just need to get the messy first draft done and take time to rest to come back with fresh eyes. It's true for writing AND for life. Thanks for sharing your insights with us. So glad you're a part of our community. - Jayleen, Team Forleo

Yes I’m in “the gap” right now. I don’t know what’s next and I’m trying not to live in the future and just find rest and peace in this transition season.

I pushed myself for a week and got ahead FAST but then from saturday to like right now, i was a ZOMBIE! i wa sbloated, exausted like the more I slept the more my body asked me for more sleep and i dont think it was worth it. im a biiiiig ambiotious and hard working woman, not robot... so if I can give myself 2 days of not thinking about work it would be very very beneficial to EVERYONE around me and muself

I would love to hear you talk about what happens when you are "kind of" let go but are so happy to move on! I worked for a guy who was NOT a good businessman, who started a new company with insufficient start-up capital. It was like running with a 50lb bag of flour dragging behind me. We as women hate rejection even WHEN WE wanted to leave for something better:) This would NEVER bother men--they would take off and never look back! I am launching a new book in September and am SO excited about that. But there is this little cloud hanging over my head. Marie--speak to the "shake off the sand from your sandals" and move toward your DESTINY!

Hey there! We totally get it 💗 It can be hard when we're "kind of" let go but wanted to make the decision for ourselves to leave. The good news is while you can't change what happened, you can change your perspective on your new adventure. And from what we read, it sounds like you already know what to do ;) Go "shake off the sand from your sandals and move to your destiny." We believe in you. YOU GOT THIS. ✨✨ - Monauar, Team Forleo

When it hits home for me is when we say to," give ourselves permission ." My inner voice is so loud that I am certain if I don't listen , all will be lost . Owning a business for 35 years has brought me some ups , with more downs , as I didn't go into it as a ," love to do , but more as a necessity for survival ." From being bedridden due to illness for a year , to my recent heart attack , I didn't listen to my soul 25 years prior , while I lie in bed , suffering , running my business from under the sheets . As you would think all the above would be enough to save ones self , however , other devastating , life altering moments were sprinkled in throughout time to really make life interesting ." Permission , seeking it from within may be the hardest thing you'll ever face , but I believe once you obtain compassion for ones self , you will be reborn ..." ( Man #MariaForleo , I certainly needed to see this 1st thing opening emails this mornin ! )

I have a question. I watched your Kenny Rogers, hold em fold em, video, about ending your business. Here you say to take a break, and rest. When your business doesn't allow the time for you to rest and take a break, do you just go with your gut and feeling in that case, and walk away from the business, if that gut feeling is telling you to do so?

This my first time watching MarieTV. I liked what you had to say to Kay, but have no idea how to make that work for me. Before I retired, I planned out everything I was going to do. I had plans. Now, two years later, my plans are trashed. I've become immobilized by the hits that ruined my plans. I want to be positive. I want to be active. I want to move forward. I just don't know how to get out of this black hole I'm in. Can you recommend one, or more, of your episodes that I can watch that might address my situation?

Hey Dana 💗Thanks so much for your openness and vulnerability. We see you and we hear all that you're going through. First, if you're going through a depression, we always recommend reaching out and getting professional support from a therapist, counselor, etc. Then, we think you might enjoy these next MarieTV episodes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eISVioGfhLyZi9k AND kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZu3eGCEiNCWhqc We're sending lots of good energy your way 💗 - Monauar, Team Forleo

Women are doing too much. Cooking, cleaning, taking care of children, working full time, and caring for an adult child called husband. Men do what? Work, come home and sit there while we do literally everything else. I'm 1000% over it. I'm one hair away from walking away from my husband who is a drain of my life.
