It’s getting to be impossible to say he’s not a top 5 QB at this point. Look at all the other elite qbs this postseason and how he’s performed compared to them with less weapons, a worse defense, all on the road against elite teams. I get that it’s supposed to be against the rules to say this about a rookie but the ball don’t lie!

@@katfish2516 that’s wiiiiith all their guys, their defense was 31st since they lost McKneel. Brock Purdy and a mid ass 49ers team ripped apart that defense too. They are pretty bad. No pass rush against decent o lines.

@@cmyskinsfan to be fair the teams he faced have bargain bin defenses. This next one is the real test. He passed the “stay cool and do your job under fire” test in his previous games, which is still a big deal but this is against and elite defense rather than two teams with elite offenses and middle of the road defenses.

Something else that I have never heard anyone talking about is that he is a rookie 1st year in this offense and from day one he never has worn a wrist band with the plays on it. He has mastered this offense since I am going to say week 3.

In just one season Jayden Daniels has more games with no turnovers and no punts than Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Peyton Manning, and Patrick Mahomes had in the entire careers COMBINED! I can't believed he was snubbed as a finalist for MVP

Jayden Daniels is BY FAR the best rookie QB for what he's done and what he's asked to do every game. The Commanders needed every game in the 2nd half of the season just to get in the playoffs and he came through, especially in clutch situations. Daniels covers up so many holes on that Commanders team. They didn't have a consistent run game the second half of the season. No problem, Jayden can be their leading rusher. The offensive line is banged up and not doing well against the pass rush? No problem, Jayden can escape the pocket when it breaks down and make sht happen on his own. The defense is subpar and not good at stopping the run? No problem, Jayden can engineer long drives, dominate the time of possession and score while keeping the other team's offense off the field. He did it to the Bucs, did it to the Lions. 4th down and whatever? No problem. Jayden we're putting the ball in your hands to convert these at an 80+% clip. He's been doing it all season. Then we get to the playoffs. Everyone is questioning his experience and he plays a cleaner game than the very experienced Baker Mayfield. The next week how are the Commanders going to keep up with the Lions who have the best offense since the "greatest show on turf"? He does it. And once again plays a much cleaner game that the much more experienced Goff. I'm not putting him up there with the greatest historically but THIS season Jayden is a Top 5 QB.

@@hitmanyr2kHQ no question this season is the best season of a rookie qb. Brock Purdy won two playoff games in his rookie season but that was with a good defense and at home. That said I think the Commanders play calling is better than Shanahan that year. Everything is working flawlessly. No one can shut down the screen game so we never get to see Daniel’s when the short game doesn’t work flawlessly. Like endless yac.

As always, this is the best QB commentary on KZbin! Daniels has lifted this diehard fan who goes back to Billy Kilmer back from the brink of football purgatory. What a run! Defense is doing just enough to keep us in the game so we can afford these 4th down plays. The receivers amaze. The culture of team is exciting to see. I haven't felt more confident in this team since 1991. Wow. And Chase - thank you for all of these videos. I learn so much and it all makes sense.

JD makes the defense and offense play at a high level, being as tho he a rookie and all that’s what makes it even better, we have a diversity with rooks and vets most of them come from other teams, some we had for a few years the Defense get turn over just to get JD back the ball, and the offense is like no child left behind program anybody can make a clutch play at any giving time, and if they can’t that means JD is uncounted for and if he is we all saw more than 3x’s what he will do, he don’t look for the big play he make the big play.

We are all witnesses to The Book of Daniels this kid is like Jordan unflappable killer mentality. Most ppl look at The Monday night game vs Joe Sheisty and that dime he threw to Scary Terry as his breakout. I think it was week 2 vs Giants where Jayden had his welcome to the NFL moment it was 3 & 13 and Jayden scrambled for 14 yds and first but got blasted in between 2 Giants had the wind knocked outta him and every since that hit he's been locked in, the game has completely slowed down for him and he lead The Skins to a game winning field goal and the rest is history.

Lets stop calling him a rookie, he was a rookie for 2 weeks and put it all together week 3 against Cincinnati. You can't look at what he has done with the team around him and a middle of the road defense (albeit much improved in recent weeks) and say that he isnt in the conversation with guys like Lamar, Mahomes, Burrow and Allen. Give him another receiving threat and watch what happens next season. Lets not forget he hurt his ribs at the begging of the Carolina game. He easily could have had 4000 passing yards, 1000 rushing yards 30 passing tds and 10 rushing had he stayed healthy possibly. Next season is going to be crazy

@ChaseDanielShow he hasn't played like one in months though. He hit the ground running and was in a full on sprint until he hurt his ribs against Carolina. I think if you could somehow take the film of all 4 remaining QBs in the playoffs and make it so you can't tell who is who you would pick JD to be the seasoned Vet and MVP if you had to guess. Vic Fangio seems to agree too after seeing his comments he isn't treating him like a rookie anymore

Such a simple game manager type performance with some flashes mixed in is actually wayyyy more impressive than a guy just throwing crazy off platform throws all day. Clean football wins playoffs games. That said his o line game him HOURS back there. There was zero pressure all game, so that certainly helps.

@HarryAcorns well teams have also learned if you blitz him he will shred you so they try to play coverage and don't send extra rushers as much. Lets the O line double the best rusher and let a TE or RB chip or straight up help double another if they need to.

In this game they were rushing 4 to 5 every time and almost always the blitz was picked up allowing Daniel’s to hold the ball up to 2.5 seconds. A good o line can stop 4 rushers damn near every time, that said these are garbage rushers anyway, next week will be a real test for the line again.

Too much hype for a rookie qb in my opinion because the Eagles defense is much better than the Lions and i don't see Hurts throwing interceptions. I am 100% for the Commanders so i'm not for all this hype cause i think it will be a tight game and refereeing is top on my mind. Could be more of a challenge than the Eagles defense .

He doesn’t play every position but he heavily influences how the team plays. He’s the reason they go for it on 4th down and succeed at an 80% rate to keep an average defense off the field and also apply pressure on the other team b/c he can direct long scoring drives that end in tuddies.

You realize Jayden's oline is bottom 10 in pass blocking win rate, his defense is mediocre and he has 1 good WR on the roster? What he's doing as a rookie with a well below average roster is unprecedented. Andrew Luck's rookie season is the only one that even comes close. He's being asked to put the team on his back every single game.

Are you dense? Have you actually watched what this kid has been doing?!? And you dare to mention Herbert? 🤦🏻 Daniels doesn't play every position but he's been a great QB AND lead his team in rushing this season. He doesn't have elite talent surrounding him like his QB counterparts but he's making it work. He has to play perfect mistake-free football for his team to win. That's a lot of pressure and Jayden keeps answering the bell, on the road in hostile environments. Herbert? Really? 😂
