13:10 The Govt of India is providing HIGHLY SUBSIDIZED food to Ration Card holders probably less than usd10$ for the month. Plus FREE FOOD to BPL (below poverty line) families. To prevent corruption and to have a transparent system, Ration Card and BPL card has to be made by each family which entitles them for these benefits. Nearly 90% population are helped. Making these cards is simple process but to the uninitiated it will appear troublesome. Regarding jobs and tourism, it is indeed amazing to hear that no jobs due to less tourism, whereas Kashmir is bursting at the seams with tourists and in 2023 to date over 18 million tourists have arrived, the highest in 3 decades! You have to be where the tourists are.

Tsot is the name of the morning bread, not of the dish you were eating. I live here in Srinagar as a foreigner from Netherland. You can trust them about safety, Kashmir is currently safe and keep in mind that tourists-foreigners are not a target, nothing bad will happen to them, quite the contrary. BTW the same is not always true for the Kashmiri. The hospitality of the Kashmiri outstands the hospitality in India. Even if I don't have 1 Rupya left, here I will never die of hunger or be left without a roof over my head. Apart from that, the nature of Kashmir is amazing, it's so healing! Incredible Kashmir is a land of opposites, seeing the situation and division of the land, but if anywhere, the saying in Kashmir is "if there is paradise on earth, it is here, it is here, it is here" and so it is, I can confirm. I love to live here. Kashmir is my heart. I have among my friends both Kashmiri Muslims and Pandits. They're all Kashmiri, before their religion, they're Kashmiri above all.

That thing about having a market for one or related products in the same location is a very Indian thing. Because Indians love to bargain, and want value for their money, so if you have an entire market of the same products in the same location, both the buyers and sellers benift. Eg; in any city or town in India, there will be a hardware market or automotive spare parts or electrical parts market. It's the reverse of competition, the genuine buyer's come to you, and somebody/ everybody gets business.
