It’s snowing in India??? Seriously though… We never expected to see this much snow in India!

Today we are in the gorgeous alpine town, Manali. Located in the Himachal Pradesh, all the way up in the north of India, you will find this magical winter wonderland. As we were visiting in April, and the weather was starting to warm up, we weren’t hopeful that there would be snow…. So much so that we didn’t even have warm coats and stupidly arrived to the -7 degree weather in just a hoodie! YIKES!!
After spending a few days looking at the snow, but not being close enough to touch it, we made that our mission.. . FIND THE SNOW!!
The best place to see snow in Manali is to visit the Solang Valley. Its located 13kms from the centre of town, takes about 45 in a car to get there, and will cost around 500 rupees per person for a round trip. This depends of the vehicle and how many people are sharing.
Once at Solang Valley, there is loads of fun snow activities! We did snow snow tubing, and rode the cable car, but you can also learn to ski, go paragliding, zorbing or ride a snow mobile!
We have had some pretty EPIC days whilst traveling in India… But seeing this much snow in India has got to be our biggest highlight to date!!
