KVD is a vegan, cruelty-free, clean beauty brand, and people are willing to pay more for these tags. Wet n Wild could be using pigments, mica, etc in their products that are from animal sources meaning animals are murdered to source these ingredients or they are mined through human slavery and child labour. Children and adults are made to work 16+ hrs in a day in the most dangerous conditions while being paid less than $2/day. So many of these workers die on the job. I really enjoyed this video! But I have to say, this is why Americans should learn the metric system😅 0.2 mL (the sample size) is a tiny little amount. For comparison, your little cup's first measure is 2.5 mL (I think that's what I saw?), which is a little more than ten times what's in the package. Another way to compare: 0.2 mL is roughly *one thousandth* of a cup, or 1/25th, four percent, of a teaspoon. It looks like very little on the cup, especially because of the size of the container - you would only be able to somewhat measure it in a very tiny syringe.

At the risk of sounding haughty, I hadn’t heard about this controversy but when Jen showed the clip of the cartridges being the same size, my first thought was “yeah they probably put less actual product into the trial size cartridge.” Other people have said what I think, that people always need something to bitch about, and it’s not that I don’t believe a company would try to rip you off, but people need to actually find this crap out before starting unfounded rumors. This reminds me of the ELF primer or whatever that was, where people didn’t understand how an airless pump works and then flipped it over, took out the inner container, and saw the excess space and thought “they aren’t putting anything in here!” And I think Jen addressed that controversy in a similar manner, too. Well, Kat dates/marries neo Nazis and doesn't believe in vaccinations. Seems like pretty good reasons to cancel her ass to me

Wouldn’t KVD cosmetics be required by law to have exact product weight listed on the package?
@jenluv5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely.
@Chrise5015 жыл бұрын
Jen Luvs Reviews Yes, I had to Google that. Lol, inquiring minds. It looks like there are three federal laws for product labeling. Depending on if it’s a first offense or intended misrep, it could be either a misdemeanor or felony with jail time. Plus civil suits with fines up to ten million. Something like that could also cost her whatever goodwill she has left.
@shannonsaenz80285 жыл бұрын
In the beauty news that she mentioned they said it can’t be less than 10% of what’s on the package so unfortunately it can be slightly less than advertised.

Hey Jen this was such a great video. Honestly it’s so unfortunate that people would think Kat Von D would try to scam people like that. First off it’s illegal to falsely advertise a product. Now I know many people don’t like Kat but she’s a businesswoman and shes definitely not dumb enough to try to scam people buy falsely advertising the volumes of the mini and regular size liner. It would cost her way too much money. Secondly it’s sad that people think that the cartridge would be different just because the mini is a mini and the regular is a regular. Again this is a BUSINESS it would cost way too much money to make two different cartridge so it makes sense that they would add that extra piece of plastic to the mini to take up the extra volume in the cartridge. Like why would they manufacture two separate cartridge it would be such as waste of money. It is so pathetic that people don’t understand these things. What a sad sad world. Anyways great video as always Jen (and husband). Keep up the great work!

It absorbs the saturated cotton insert via the long insertion piece you initially took out. So you just add more or less liquid to the inside to absorb. 1 ml is 20 drop approximately thus .2 is 4 drops sample and 10-11 drops .55 :) I’m a chemist so I know my liquid and solid measurements:) but I’m sure it can be looked up too:)

IMO this is not a scam.. it's marketing. The amount of product is clearly labeled on the package. We just need better consumerism. Not with just make-up, but also with food. Read your labels people.
@EgoBrain15 жыл бұрын
Yes! Exactly! It's not a scam when the customer is given the information.
@AlbinoAxolotl5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! It's so irritating that people are so shocked to find out information that they've clearly had access to the entire time and then go on outraged rants on the internet. Just because it's the first time someone is seeing how little they're actually getting in a product like this doesn't mean that all of the sudden they're being ripped off. It's sad to see just how effective flashy packaging is at fooling people into thinking they're getting 'better" or "more" and peoples' lack of consumer awareness is degrading the power of our money. It takes literally seconds to see how much of a product you're getting and to calculate a price per unit/volume but instead people are being swayed through a combination of laziness, lack of education, and fancy packaging and marketing.

I never wear this but this was super entertaining. I do completely "clean" makeup by Savvy minerals. Which does take a small amount of trial and error to work since it's completely different - no fillers at all. But out of all the makeup I've used over the years, this is hands down the best. No skin or eye irritation and no breakout. Totally amazing. I get complements all the time! Plus you actually see how much product your getting... lol.

If you think about how much 2 milliliters is, which is the same as 2 ccs in medicine, it's not a lot. Also think about how much of that you'd actually put on your eyes at a time and it would be immeasurable. I think this is just a fact of life for all of us makeup lovers. Any high end eye liners are going to be the same way.

@samanthashine45065 жыл бұрын
Once upon a time I was addicted to buying high-end department store makeup brands: Lancôme, Ultima II, Borghese....then I learned that all of these have drugstore formulas and many of them are as good, maybe better. And generally speaking, I am fairly happy with L'oreal and Revlon and Maybelline shadows and liners. Occasionally I spring for MAC because they always have something fun.

So if you ever pulled apart a maker the ink is in a cotton/sponge like tube with a whole straight in the middle and with a waxy plastic wrapping the tube. It looks like this is constructed very much the same way. So it was VERY helpful that you cracked it open to see how much was actually soaked up in it! Loved the video! Glad to see I'm really getting my money's worth! Thank you!
