I've smoked weed since I was a kid. When I first began to consume marijuana, I was instantly hooked and 12 years later I still do smoke. During adolescence stages, I found myself irrational, emotional, lots of ups and downs. It was due to the fact that I was a very young man I didn't know anything about anything... I wasn't mindful or consciously alert. I'd highly recommend for people to wait until they are a little older and stable before the smoke. It's more enjoyable when you understand what you're doing in depth whereas before you were a blind young guy/girl just trying to solve the puzzle. It's almost like being a connoisseur of Wines, the more you understand the more enjoyment you'll get from receiving something of high quality. There's nothing wrong with smoking, just don't let it consume you and have your life revolve around ADDICTION. Set a schedule do your day routine and the last hour or two before bed just take a small puff or two and enjoy those moments. Use it as a self rewarding mechanism not an addictive pleasure that you constantly need to have. If you don't or can't discipline yourself INSIDE AND OUT, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DONT SMOKE OR DRINK.
@theboycheef8413 жыл бұрын
I've always been curious with people's relationship with weed. You got it down to a T. I started smoking when I was 12 in middle school which went on in my high school years. It's weird for me because I had smoked frequently for 4 years at that time then in 11th grade I stopped because I noticed my grades going down. It wasn't that hard to stop really. Only noticeable effects for me were mood swings but besides that not bad. I made a promise (kinda lame) that I would start smoking again after I graduate that's if I still wanna do it. 2 years pass I'm 18 and i don't feel like smoking and decide not to smoke for like another 2 or 3 years until like 2020 I started again. Now I smoke everyday after work, full time job, tough work, 5am everyday. Routine is important. I almost have a set time for it and time my day accordingly. After work I get high around 6 that way I sober up by around 9 then pass out at 11. For me, my relationship with weed besides getting high, it's obviously relaxing, feels good and everything. But me it's like you said I'm a connoisseur I love the process and action leading up to the smoke aswell as the smoking experience. The look smell and taste of the buds man it's awesome. I feel like in order to partake its best when you have have a certain mindset and knowledge about your self like I don't have addictive tendencies. I Don't drink alcohol really at all don't even drink coffee no cigarettes none of that, no energy drinks or nothing. Just weed. I also think about if its a good time to smoke up like if I have to drive in an hour then maybe no or if I have some work to do maybe not so much it just depends everyone's different of course.

You sound like the only options were to smoke weed either daily or not at all. But there are many people who just enjoy it from time to time. Like once a month or a few times per year. As for me I see it like going on an adventure, a trip. A refreshing experience, but also something special and precious, something I don't have every day. And I prefer to get high when I'm in company with somebody I like a lot. And I totally agree you shouldn't do it when you're too young. Certainly not

Ironically, that’s about the time the U.S. government allowed one man to grow pot for medical research. Unfortunately, he lived in Alabama... so, the results were underwhelming. There was also research dating back to the ‘70s in several French universities that the U.S. “likely” put the kibosh on. Because of how weed affects everyone differently you have to remember that both experiences are just as valid. I must slightly disagree with the original post. From my experience, the ultra majority of people who have had "bad experiences" just weren't educated enough on what cannabis does. Cannabis aims to expand your mind, and it does so by elevating your vibration, which physicaly translate into oxygenating your cells more, which it does by making your heart pump more. People who are not aware of that will freak out instead of feeling safe. And since cannabis can increase focus, they will focus on their fear, thinking something bad is happening. So, it not not linked with genetics or individual chemistry in the vast majority of cases. That being said, of course that some pre-existing psychological conditions can cause problems. But 98% of the "bad trips" experience I've heard were just what I explained.

I'm not sure if it's as relevant from a neuroscience perspective, but I think the risk of behavioural addiction is quite high. Like, my youngest sister went from smoking it recreationally every now and then, to smoking 3 times a week to cope with PTSD. She became unable to function whilst sober.

The first dopamine release of the day will tell the brain to keep doing whatever generated it. Therefore smoking in the morning can increase your risk of addiction. Edit : The relationship between morning cannabis use and addiction risk is sometimes true, but can depend on individual factors. While the first dopamine release theory applies broadly, cannabis addiction risk involves various factors such as frequency of use, genetics, and mental health. Morning use alone doesn't necessarily heighten addiction risk, but regular use, regardless of the time of day, can contribute to dependence and abuse.

Have been diagnosed with ptsd, and bipolar. I have my highs and lows just like the weather and struggle to be balanced in life. I am an extremely nice or mean person but do try to be nice most of the time despite life’s challenges. Yesterday I was on a low and started feeling depressed and began having suicidal thoughts. I was going on a “bad one” about how my life this world sucks. My girlfriend knows how I am and was really trying to cheer me up to no avail and I wanted to just be left alone. But she stayed and I knew I needed to smoke/medicate in this situation when I am literally suicidal. I then went to my bathroom and packed a small bowl of a sativa stain and took one small puff. That is all, I don’t like to get wasted and become the stereotypical pot head as I like to be able to function. Within 30 seconds or less I instantly felt better and began to think of the “bright side” of my life and situation. I didn’t forget my problems, I was fully aware of them but was not overcome by them or my negative emotions. I felt 100% better and then began to talk about my feelings with my girlfriend. A lot of my problems in life are from bad choices and habits I’ve made since a teenager. The past definitely affects the future. But weed in the right dosage and not to be abused can and does help overcome harmful thoughts and feelings, as well as cheers you up and makes you look at life from a positive perspective. That is my experience and opinion.

I just had the same experience! Minus the suicidal thoughts. Weed for recreational use was just legalized here in Illinois so I decided to purchase some in the form of a vape cartridge after hearing about micro dosing. I had quit using weed about 8 years ago due to anxiety issues, but I told myself this time that I’d “use it and not abuse it”. I took a huge hit like I used to do in my teens and I started tripping out lol. Next day I tried it again, this time I took a small 1 sec puff and I felt great! I wasn’t over analyzing things and didn’t feel anxious. I just felt like my mood changed and felt very motivated and creative and just positive about life overall.

It has helped me relax and even sparked a huge curiosity in me about the universe and outer space, and I love learning about astronomy while high. I am able to learn and retain all the info, but not only that, it grants me deeper understanding of concepts that while sober don't make as much sense for some reason. Honestly I might get hate for saying this but whatever, I’m a 15 year old I tried getting High for the first time just to try it little did I know me just “trying it” would lead to me smoking almost everyday for 9 months straight. If I could go back I definitely wouldn’t take the edible that got me high that day, People try to glorify weed saying things like it’s healthy and isn’t addictive which just isn’t true and the only reason people say things like this is bc there in denial about being addicted to something. trust me I was literally that guy until I started having memory problems and brain fog. I just hope this reaches someone who needs to hear this and stops them from starting something they will eventually regret. Weed isn’t the worst thing in the world but it also isn’t the best, if your gonna smoke please do it in moderation for your own benefit, if I could go back I wouldn’t have even smoked at all. At first you feel so good whenever you get high and whenever you hear about the negatives of what your doing to yourself you feel like that stuff won’t happen to you until it does. It’s strange, but I seem to experience the full scope of what weed can do to you; the paranoia, the psychosis, the elation, and relaxation, the introspection, etc... my relationship with weed has been up and down, but even when I smoked and had bad experiences I still wanted to continue smoking. I still somehow found enjoyment in using it even when I was only experiencing extreme paranoia and getting stuck in negative thought loops. After a while I got tired of feeling that way and decided to take a break. I was sober for almost 3-4 months and felt my creativity, my empathy, and my ability to self reflect was severely lacking. Only when I started smoking again did I start to see those things return. When I start smoking though, I always become concerned that I am harming my brain and body, that I am going to end up schizophrenic in my later years or that I’m destroying cognitive function. It’s hard to get a straight answer about it because science will tell you one thing and then somebody whose been smoking their whole life comes along and tells you it works great for them, and then another person comes along and says that weed ruined their life. It’s such a hit or miss

this is tricky, i have been in this situaton. In my case, what helped me was thinking about how it already has affected me. I recently got really stressed out after reading deeper about the risks of marijuana. Then i thought about how i have been smoking every night for years without falling into any rabbitholes. Not saying that this makes it certain for me that it is safe, but i think that if thc was going to destroy my brain it would already have started doing so. Remember that THC is most riskful for young brains. Sorry if you just started smoking, as this reflection will be useless for your case if so. Hope this helps somebody think clearly :)

This might seem like trite advice, but I'll be sincere anyway. Meditation can give you all of this. You have to train and flex the muscles in the brain, working up to a longer period of meditation over time. I spent one week in spring as if I were a spirit in the sky or the breeze between the trees, watching the bird and squirrels bustle. That was just meditation. I know weed can do that too, but it's not clean the way meditation is. We are all capable of that kind of insight and elation and transcendental experience, but it can be without the negatives. I know because I have experienced it.

I also experienced it, and its the scariest thing I've ever been through. But, it also made me let go off the underlying trauma I've experienced since my teens. So yes, it was the worst experience in my entire life, but also the most beautiful. If you don't listen to what your body was trying to tell you, there will be no further development, and that to me, is more scary than not having had this experience.

I have social anxiety and mild psychosis now and for the last 12 years. I started smoking cannabis regularly at 15, heavily from 16-20. But I also smoked salvia and took Es. I remember getting my first panic attack while dreaming and had insomnia for weeks. That was at the age of around 17. I have a family history of mental health issues. I gave up cannabis for around 8 years but have recently gone back to smoking very lightly (1 joint, once a week at most) and I am sure to source the right strains with a good amount of cbd. My take away is: parents, please talk to your kids about drugs and family mental health history. Kids: try to wait until your 18 or older before trying weed and then, try not to smoke heavily. Moderation is important. Think of it like alcohol, you don’t go and get drunk 5 days a week, and you don’t drink spirits straight when you drink. Obviously there are exceptions to the rule, but moderation is an intelligent and responsible way to approach it. Also, if you’re an anxious person, I really don’t recommend mdma because the anxiety and perhaps paranoia will get massively heightened during the come down.
@cyancoyote7366 Жыл бұрын
If you're suffering for anxiety, most drugs are to be avoided. All of them will make it worse in the long run. You know what cures anxiety instantly? Nothing. The only way is proper, physician/therapist guided care, PROPER medication and making change for yourself. Working on your personality, having a healthy social life. This cannot be replaced by any one substance.
