Love-wary actor and commitment-phobe Aaron Mossadeg uncovers what keeps young singles from dating seriously. In Singapore, Aaron visits a sex education workshop, accompanies his shy friend on a dating crash-course, and consults an intimacy coach. In South Korea, Aaron meets a renowned screenwriter of blockbuster K-dramas and questions the impact of on-screen fantasies on young people’s romantic expectations. He compares different ways to find a life partner; through online dating, recreational activities, or introductions by friends or family. This leads Aaron to India where he encounters traditional matchmaking and “love marriages”.
As Aaron delves deeper, he addresses the impact of mental health in delaying dating. He engages a psychologist to assess his own readiness for love and embarks on a blind date, testing a proven method to fall in love with a stranger. This journey takes him through diverse cultures, revealing the complexities of modern dating in an interconnected world.

Because we are being told there are only certain ways to call “love” . But those are fake, not real love. Of course I don’t want fake love. True love awaits.

Right now, I'm not into dating. To be honest, I'm not interested yet huhu!! My reason is I'm currently focused on personal growth and self-love, which I believe are essential before pursuing a romantic relationship. Additionally, my career is a top priority, and I'm enjoying the financial independence it brings. I want to savor this stage of my life by indulging in experiences I couldn't afford before, like dining out, attending concerts, traveling, and simply enjoying the things that bring me joy.

Who is delaying love? Global society's education system have most people joining the workforce in their early twenties. Takes around 2-5 years to settle into a job, without a silver spoon falling in love quickly, having children quickly, having a place to call home quickly is merely but a dream that requires commitment and hardwork.

I think we should shorten the education system- the trade off is getting too much , and it's not like education brings such great benefit- university education serves you well the first 3 years of working life.... esp for non technical courses like business degrees... its time we rethink this

Hmm......I can understand Janelle's lack of faith in her physical attractiveness, but I'm firmly of the opinion that she would be an amazing partner to any guy. I've watched the other video before this, and observing her responses and expressions, I get the impression that she's one who gives a lot of thought to her responses and isn't callous with her words. That is not easy to find in youths of today. It also shows that she's thoughtful and is probably a very kind and considerate person at heart. And in case she's here reading the comments, I want her to know that in my opinion, she's quite pleasant looking, and most guys would be fine with that. Those who only want model-looking girls probably aren't the kind of guys she, or any woman, would want anyway.

I don't understand your point. Wasn't she the one that talks about rejecting guys that approach her in the other video? I suppose it is more correct to say lack of faith in her physical attractiveness to the guys she wants.

Why aren't young people dating? It is not about money, it is about time. Having a child means losing literally your personal time. heck... if you are dating you have less personal time. You want to game but your significant other is calling you, what do you do? We know the best for everyone is talking to your SO but remember you are sacrificing your own personal time. You say, "That's life" Then you remember that your parents didn't have to work in a highly competitive world with high costly life.. My conclusion, with those in middle income, it is all about money. Everything needs money: dating, marriage, children. While those in high income, it is all about time.

I agree with you to a large extent, unfortunately for those in their late 20s and early 30s, the main issue now is housing costs - it has become very significant. That said, every generation has its own perks and advantages- you are in an era where there is a strong focus on young people. Make the best out of the situation and with what has been given to you and continue to practice good financial discipline and spending habits

That's such a weird way to look at it. You make it sound like having a significant other is such a pain and that having one means you can't have time to yourself. In a healthy relationship you actually can, and a big reason people want one is because they're spending too much time alone lol

The dating scene is not the same before all the social media happened. I've quit dating apps after a year actively trying to find the love of my life, apparently they're not on those apps. I feel it when he says it's very superficial and not organic compared to when you meet them through social interaction. Coz the only reason to swipe right on a person is basically based on look, nothing more. Especially in western culture where situtationship and casual arrangement are very common, it's even harder to pick out who has the right intention in dating you, or they just want some fun time. The stress level and anxiety are high ngl. It's simply just too hard.

If a society values “upward mobility”, then we should know that sustainability development is the core and dynamics of upward. The current societal concentration areas are targeted and manipulated channels by those authorities. That’s why our young generations lost faith in love. There’s no mobility for love. No mobility of the society. It’s just blind rushing, no upwards. Rushing is a seemingly upward motion but actually void. 😅

Interesting documentary. I'm not a young adult anymore, more the age of their parents. It's remarkable how awkward these young people are towards the opposite sex. My amateur theory is because during their teen and young adult years, there was less focus on socializing and more on academics. Socializing is a skill that requires a lot of practice.

1 year is a good time enough to get marry. You generally know a person is right for you on your first date. Some people are very smart. They know whether a person is good enough for him or her just into less than 1 hour meeting. So, taking a year is long enough. Smart and mature man, they look at you, know you and ready to commit. They don't need to waste time.

I find that people in Asia are generally more relationship and family orientated than in the West. Girls and guys also look more into the personality and character of the person than just the superficial traits. You can see some of the young women in the documentary are overweight, and they are still finding love and getting married. In the West, unless you are a blonde, slim and very pretty women in her 20s, you are almost never the first choice of any guys. This excludes majority of ethnic minority women. This harsh screening has also been applied to men too: unless you are a tall and handsome man making good salary then you are also never the first choice of any women...
