Its not all that bad.... I am native from here. One that moved back after 10 years of living in Australia. I am biased but still, here are some of my favorite things: - I can live confortably on a quater of the salary i was getting in Australia - Wine selection is great - Women are gorgeous - City is fairly compact and has a lot of modern supermarkets (which are in fact cleaner than in a lot of other eastern european places) - I actually like the weather .... Not too hot, not too windy, not too humid - You're a lot less likely to be robbed here in broad day light than in Barcelona - Central parks around this time (late spring) are actually quite lovely and are quite well taken care of, even compared to 5 years ago - You can feel the atmosphere of national holidays like christmas , easter or early march. By far the worst part take away the politics is the infrastructure: - Its impossible to drive around during the day at any hour Mr Bald picked literally one of the worst parts of the city center (ironically i live next to it). Its not a very used underpass and i ve seen similar things happening in cities a lot richer than Chisinau

I was all settled in my hostel for the evening when two chatty roommates came in - Dubliners - introduced themselves, and invited me to join them in celebrating a friend who had just moved to Galway from Dublin. When we stopped to get beer, I found it kind of odd that they went straight for the Heineken. They said they didn't care for Guinness, which completely dispels the stereotype, I suppose. After pre-partying at his house and demonstrating my Flip Cup skills, we went to a crowded, multiple-storey pub. Hi, we, the Czech Republic, are considered by the Westerners as an Eastern european country as well, though we are Central Europe. So I was wondering,, if you could come to our country, or to the Visegrad 4 countries in general (Czech Rep., Poland, Hungary, Slovakia) and maybe make a video about what has changed since the 1989 revolution? Then if the countries, such as Romania, Moldova etc keep improving, one day they will be the same as we in the V4... For example - Czech Republic has the lowest unemployment rate in the whole EU since 2015 (2,8% before Corona, 3,7% after Corona), we are the 6th safest country all over the world etc etc... Many thanks in advance
@gerry93064 жыл бұрын
Very interesting comment. Thanks.👌 Do you feel that Hungary and Poland however are slowly moving towards fascism?
@viktornovomestsky39994 жыл бұрын
@@gerry9306 Well. that's really hard to tell.. They both get assaulted by the western media for moving towards fascism, but first of all: we in the Visegrad 4 countries, would never ever consider fascism or nazism as a way of rule, because I think you know, what has happened during the WWII.. Therefore, in all 4 countries, there is a quite huge hate towards fascists / nazis.. We all in the V4 get blamed for fascist ideologies, but that's just because we all have a strong nationalist feeling and will not allow our western neighbors to determine our politics... You can see it for example by the refugee quotas, which have been demanded from us since 2015, the refugee crisis.. And we just simply said no, we are not going to relocate even 1 refugee.. The whole issue has been brought to the European court of justice and they have told in April 2020, so after 5 years, that it was against the EU law not to participate.. But still, we do not care, we will not relocate even 1 migrant, that's the common voice from our governments. And second, there are huge issues with the EU, such as the judicial reform in Poland, or Hungary's family policy etc etc.. And there are thousands of other issues, f.e. the firearms licence policy in my country, Czech Republic etc.. (it's allowed to take action against a criminal, terrorist etc by your own to protect other citizens and you can not be persecuted for it by the police or court).. But these are just 1% of all issues between the V4 and the EU... And we, in the V4 get blamed quite often for our fiscal policies, but now during Corona we have proven, that we are right.. In Czech Republic we had the 2nd lowest debt against the GDP (32%, Estonia was the first with 9% only), so we are now in a very good position to restart our economy.. Compared to Italy's debt 139% BEFORE Corona, it's like a night and day.. And I am not even talking about, that we were the first to close our borders in the EU and have 297 deaths in CZ only... So back to your question: I would not say, that Poland or Hungary are moving towards fascism, they're moving towards populism, but in a good meaning of the word "populism".. Means, they're listening to their citizens and make policies towards their protection - their way of life, their culture etc.. That's why all 4 countries have not experienced any terrorist attack, or rapists, or criminal gangs based on Islam etc.. As I've mentioned before, f.e. the Czech Republic is considered to be the 6th safest country all over the world.. Here some pretty videos about the V4 countries: Corona: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIvXdotoYtNlfsU kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnmwoGZ6ptpjnrM kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaGwm4iBnsdga5o And the V4 Army: kzbin.info/www/bejne/paCkmZZ_d7aJn7M

I visited Chisinau in October 2019. In general it was very pleasant trip. The scenic views, vine production, excellent food, all this was very unique and impressive. The capital needs a facelift.

I was waiting for this at the time I went to Moldova it was the least visited country in Europe (not the EU don’t get confused people) but it has gone up and it’s probably number 3 now. Connor have you thought about contacting Djulieta? She’s a Moldovan TV presenter and she says she’s always looking for people and stories to go on her show. Her channel is Moldova with Djulieta.

While Bald's video was more like what you would really see in Moldova, your video was focused on a few selected scenes. I am from Moldova and Bald's videos were more representative of what it is really like and what he shows does not look out of place, just as it is. They have many problems and I hope it gets better.

I am shooting the video from the point of view of a visitor who is looking for the nicer spots of the city. This is what we actually did … Ben shot from his perspective.

Bald, fillms from a perspective of an ordinary person, on a phone, meeting random locals, going through shady alleyways. Here the video starts in a fancy-ish Cafe, expensive drone shots. And obviously regershed into interview. Was this video sponsored by anyone? Because of yes, by KZbin community standards it has to be disclosed.

No mention of that from the vlogger, who no doubt was paid by the tourism industry in Moldova to give this review. Many vloggers are professional con artist, extorting free hotel rooms and such in exchange for positive videos. Remember the girl in Ireland who got caught flat out trying to extort free hotel rooms?
@vidong17044 жыл бұрын
The country is not Slavic but Latin. So, it's kind of like going to Italy. Lots of horny guys who hit on girls, and the girls are scared of men and walk in groups. They are not friendly to strangers and talking to a stranger is kind of weird. Many also don't speak Russian and run away when they hear it.

Why blur the background video of the city center? It is clear that this is some paid video just to cover up the real facts that Mr Bald exposed. Yes, some works has been done in the city and of course a bit better than two years ago but not as shown in this video. Moldova is a wonderful country everyone will love if they visit regardless of the situation of the country but lots of what Mr Bald exposed still remains the same which is corruption.

In 2012 my wife and I did a 4 night trip from the UK to Chisnau, the only reason was we hadn't been there before and wanted to check it out. We loved it. There were some good restaurants and bars (Beer House, hope it's still there). We found plenty to do including a day trip to Transnistria. The people were lovely and it felt very safe there. I'd love to go again some day.
