I also think malignant narcissism is most likely what inspired the concept of vampires in movies and fiction writing, as it is EXACTLY what they do - suck you dry of all goodness, destroy your life, and move onto another victim.

I used to say that my narc ex could be the devil's brother but it would be an insult to the devil bc guy was too stupid to fool people. Once you become more involved in studying narcissism you will understand that there is narcissistic traits for the individual doing it has blind spots and does not realize they are functioning as a narcissist, but functioning as a victim. So please think about what you say a little more in depth. There are purposeful narcissist that in layman term we often call psychopaths. There is a layman's term for somebody that doesn't do it for pleasure and that's soft and called the sociopath, but in psychology I don't think they differentiate between the two titles. There is histrionic and borderline that have blind spots, which means they don't realize that they are causing strife, they often feel taken advantage of when they are not, they often seek out what causes them to feel safe and happy and it is often a judgment call that is Unworthy of somebody that is within normalcy.

Everyone thought my mother was a kind and sweet lady. Disfuncion, constant abuse, violence, and empy, souless people were all around and there were many that didn't get it and didn't see it. I am so glad that we have access to the internet today with truely caring and concerned people who help us identify this evil and gain freedom from it. Mine used to smirk at my tears, say absolutely horrible things and one time I was bawling and apparently a window was open and he’d tell me to “be quiet” bc he didn’t want the cops called on him. Everytime I watch one of these videos where you list the characteristics of a narcissist I feel pain and sadness all over again because my mother checks every box. She is a bad person, but it’s hard even for me to label her as evil. She does lie, cheat, and steal, and plays the victim and denies her wrongdoings when she is caught. She purposely does harm to me and the rest of my family and has been this way since she was a child. There is something deeply wrong with her and while I still hope she can get help, I have no doubt she will never change. If you married or dated a narcissist and got out, consider yourself lucky because you can be done and have a clean cut. I went no contact, but she’s still my mother so I won’t be able to truly be safe until she is dead. As cold and harsh as that is, it’s my truth.

I am watching it generationally play out. It’s one thing to have seen my daughter beaten to the ground and destroyed, not physically, but in many ways physically , because it has taken a toll in that regard, but now her daughters and grandchildren. Every word spoken here is true. I was just released from the hospital due to so much abuse emotionally and psychologically that I lost all memory and motor skills. I'm having to work really hard to regain use. I was run so far in the ground that I couldn't even open my eyes. The hospital wouldn't even release me if I didn't go to one of my family members' houses and not go back home. I spent our 30th year of 'marriage' in the hospital learning to do everything again. I've been so strong for so long but even the strongest of us can endure only so much before breaking. I think I had to break in order to get out and away from him. Thankfully I'm starting to heal. I was explaining to someone what I was going through. Obviously, they don't know the extent of their cruelty and psychological warfare. I was told I sounded like a victim and I hate that word, but I said, "Oh do I. Oh okay." I wish I had said, "I not only sound like a victim... I am a victim BUT actively doing everything possible to get away from the narcissist and their cohorts. So thanks for adding to my misery." Now I sound like a victim. Lol. Narcissist are people who come to you to make them feel good about all their plans they have for their life and then when you think they are happy enough and open to share a healthy conversation with you, they make you feel so horrible and low to the ground for having a different opinion than them or if you are trying to reason with them on a subject. My father and mother-in-law both get a sick thrill out of humiliating people, and my wife and I are their favorite targets. They smile and laugh and run us down while our families sit around with looks of horror. Others join in. Afterwards, I can't look anyone in the eye and suffer from barely contained rage and crippling social anxiety for months. Our families always assure us that our parents were just being silly, and they love us and always say really nice things about us when we're not around. In fact, we're petty and selfish, and we're the real abusers for being upset. After all they're old, they didn't mean it, and don't we want to enjoy the precious little time we have together? A couple of years ago, we moved back to the States after 20 years abroad. We lost everything, and had to move into my mother-in-law's basement to recover. Then my daughter broke her leg, and we found out how the American "health care system" works. Now we have more debt than we can ever pay, and we can't make it between paychecks without borrowing more. So we're trapped in an abusive home in an abusive system, and the only reason I don't blow my brains out is because I have kids. Thanks, America!

This morning I went to walk my dog around my neighborhood. I hate this, because of my P.T.S.D. and C.P.T.S.D. This man on the corner sends his little Terrier to aggressively try to attack my Boston Terrier that was stolen from me by someone I trusted. I got him back by way of miracle of Faith in Jesus Christ. I have struggled with many addictions as a result of childhood grooming somewhere between age 0-5 and now all signs are saying that not just one parent (Dad), but my Mom may have been verbally abusive under her breath while spoiling me with material possessions. She never dealt with her own childhood trauma. I can be very Narcissistic as a means of protection. I have lost so many people that I deeply loved in the last few years while under verbal abuse by Narcissists. I am like a Narcissist magnet and when people violate my boundaries I get angry and malicious. I hate this behavior in myself, but I feel as of their are Narcissists all around in 2024 always looking to provoke to anger, so they can turn around and say, "What's wrong with you". I had this to happen this morning. I am working through a Grief Cycle after losing my last parent and people around me are absolutely merciless! I always meet some kind people on my path, simple Authentic people of various backgrounds. What can I do to protect myself without getting cocky or angry? I have an INTENSE desire to protect ALL children from Predators!!! I hate lies and deception and I never do these things to others, meaning deceit. I still try to wave to strangers, but often get no wave back. Are all places in America becoming like this, demon possessed or is it just Wichita, Kansas?

My kids are all not talking to me and won't let me see my grandkids that I babysat for free for the last 6 years. I'm totally devastated and I'm actually moving away... I wanted to not be on earth last week .. I have 2 new grandbabies on the way and I have a box of new baby clothes by my front door.. I quit my job and school to babysit and was told I was a loser for not having a job.. my heart hurts so bad I don't think I can ever have a connection with my grandbabies again. I had 5 people in my family pass away from cancer in the last 2 years and my mom is on hospice.. I am 45 and broken beyond repair

@@truthseeker-mk4rt that's a hard verse to understand. People like my cousin do all sorts of good deeds. It's called "hiding in plain sight." He knows all the God talk, and uses it like a master. I am shocked that the people in his church cannot see how artificial he is, how empty he is. But it's a fabulously wealthy church in one of the wealthiest communities in the United States. I gather that they're so dullwitted spiritually they take his and their prosperity as a sign that they're the people of God. One interpretation of that verse, and the reason I find it confusing, is that by fruits, Jesus means words. At the same time, we're warned to be wary of false prophets. I suppose those two ideas do fit together. But there are, as we've experienced, a lot of phonies around.

He threw L out of Heaven and that's where all of this narcissism started because he felt entitled and grandiose and wanted the attention and Glory for himself. No...that belongs to God. So God threw him out of heaven...like a lightning bolt, that's how fast God sorted him out. That's also why God said that My people perish for a lack of knowledge. We need to be gaining and seeking His knowledge, then we won't be perishing in all sorts of different ways. And He also said, "Away with you I never knew you". Those words are waiting for the wolves in sheep's clothing who have been deceiving God's sheep. The Communal narcissism is unfortunately rife and sadly in churches too. If one has the Gift of Discernment and His Holy Spirit, one can see through the veils of deceptions and coupled with His Knowledge.

I’ve lived with my husband with this for 38 years. The older he gets the meaner he gets. Lately anytime I have any concerns to address his immediate response is “I don’t give a ….” in the most lowest demonic sounding voice through gritted teeth. I’m struggling to come up with any response at all, what do you say to that? And obviously his actions speak even louder than those words. I am so exhausted and defeated but I refuse to let him “win”. So awful I can’t explain it to my closest friends.
