Before Martin scored that try I said to my brother, as in before the play of the ball: go left, go left… then Luai goes right and my first thought was like wtf. After Martin scores I’m to my brother again: that’s unreal, to just switch like that. Now, having heard the ‘hot’ call, whether Luai heard him or not, regardless, just brilliant instinct and game nous. They just find a way to win, and every GF they’ve won, they’ve won it differently.

I was in One World sport Church St Parramatta on my own in the lounge when Joeys Jaw got broken. I got up, turned to the bar and put $125 for the Knights to get the spoon. Joey was in my opinion the most influential player to ever play footy, his kicking game, running game, passing game and defensive effort was always on point and I feel he was better than the multitude of excellent halves he played against. In todays comp, there are no match ups like Joey had. Nathan is a great player, and I’m a life long Panthers fan but you gotta be broken and bounce back to get to the heights of a Johns or Stuart or Thurston in my opinion.

Mana is more like power and prestige/influence or spirit a person carries because of their character, spirit and status. JFH although not a captain still carries a lot of mana which is why he must go back to NZ to fill that spot in his family since his grandfather has passed. He's good, great even. Not in the same class as Smith and Joey. Who I rate as 1 and 2. Hasn't done enough in rep footy to challenge the likes of Thurston, Fittler, Locky etc. He's also a real big fish at the moment. A lot of the goats people bring up played in the same eras. Nathan stands out because everyone else is kind of on the same level. Whereas in times past, you'd have a number of great players spread across the comp. You just dont have that at the moment. I'll say not now, but he could end up there. He's still got plenty of footy in him.

Bottom line cleary has led his side to 5 gfs in a row,winning 4 straight,peter sterling said its near impossible to 3peat in the salary cap era penrith have won 4 in a row getting to 5for another team to better that they'd need to get to 6 in a row winning 5 I think it's safe to say that's impossible considering every year they've won they lost 3 or more players and like everyone else had to replace them ,but they just keep moving on ,yes wayne Bennett has won more gfs but he's never won 4 in a row on the trot that puts him behind cleary,u hear most nrl guys even 2in a row is mentally draining how about 4 enough said I remember the storm getting pumped 40 nil by manly without smith they were lost ,cronk and later couldn't bring them home thats the difference the clearys make

Nah, he’s looking like the most successful. But take langer out of Brisbane and they lose. Take John’s out of Newcastle and they lose, take Sterling out the eels and they lose take Stuart out of the raiders and they lose. Take Cleary out of the panthers and they march on unimpeded. Also there isn’t a single halfback or 5/8 in the game today that holds a candle to their 90s early 2000s counterparts. The props, the back rowers the wingers and fullbacks are all better today than back then. But halves have devolved into the most redundant positions. They all play 1 side of the field. Their big move is a second man play. They cross kick to the corner. There really isn’t any individuality or evolution in these positions. Cleary is the greatest of a terrible era. No doubt about it. But he’s not battling champions. The fact that it not for super league the 1995 World Cup team could have had any of 3 guys that Cleary is compared to says it all. The same goes to 5/8. I’m sorry but Cleary ain’t on the other guys levels and the game is to blame for that. For me the best in my lifetime is langer. Then Sterling, then Johns then Thurston and finally Stuart. With jones and Cronk then Cleary then Johnson

@Giveme1goodreason
@Giveme1goodreason 3 ай бұрын
@@Zmart30yes teams will have success after a guy leaves. I’m not saying Brisbane just never did anything without Alfie. But certainly while he was playing in 88-99,02 the games he missed Brisbane lost, even with Renouf, sailor, Lockyer, Tallis, webcke, Lazarus and Walters. It was the same with Newcastle. That 97-03 knights era was stacked but when Andrew was out they got a wooden spoon. Famously Stuart led Canberra to a minor premiership in 93, broke his ankle and a side with Mullins, belcher, meninga, Daley, walters, wiki lost 3 games in a row and that was it. Cleary gets injured and misses half the season and the panthers just keep on going. Now is he the best halfback in the world right now? Yep it’s not even close. But as I say in 1995 the Australian halfback could have been any of Johns, langer and Stuart. With Alexander and Toovey possible squad members. Daley, walters, Fittler, Lyons, Johns and terry lam were all 5/8 options. That sort of depth just doesn’t exist at all in the modern game. Where as the fullback in 1995 could have been Mullins, ettingshausen or brasher. This year if all are healthy Tedesco, Walsh, Edward’s, ponga are all legitimate starters.
