While the sheikh provided a lot of useful information, he failed to answer the basic question: should we check “yes” on our driver’s license to organ donation? I believe the answer is no, because the driver’s license does not go into all the details on when/which/how can the organs be donated. I hope the organ donor registrar does clarify these things before you’re able to donate

Sometimes they give up on patients who are declared brain dead, but technically they are not death. This can be tricky if you agree to be a donor. They should give the option to be only a donor if the heart stops beating and the longs stop breathing. That is the only time that you can be declared death in Islam.

Summary: There are three categories: Clear Halal, Clear Haram and Grey Area. Clear Halal: Donating an organ to another needed for life and stability as long as not giving up life for that person e.g. Writing a will or donating an organ which we can live without. Clear Haram: 1) To sell an organ, including blood 2) To donate for ‘science’ after we die 3) To donate reproductive organ. Grey Area: 1) When there is no clear indication before death, then heirs have to agree. 2) When a person is on the line between life and death. P/S: Autopsy is not allowed except when very necessary

Good summary by Sheikh Yasir. Organs removed from truly dead individuals are dead organs and NOT suitable for transplantation. Only living organs are suitable for transplantation and living organs can only be obtained from living people. If the Fiqh Council does not consider brain death to be Islamic death then essential organs cannot be donated becausetheir removal will be the cause of death and that is not permissible in Islam. If you do wish to donate organs do it while you are alive, donate a kidney or part of your liver, after seeking medical advice. If you want to donate when you are truly dead then you can donate your tissues only because your organs will also be dead when you are dead.

So it’s ok for us (Muslims) to benefit from research that happens as a result of others (non Muslims) making donations for scientific research but we won’t participate in the deed to benefit others. I think the fiqh council needs to revisit this point.
@lonnekhalid23954 жыл бұрын
He said it pretty clear. If you are dead, you can donate after your death but u should not donate your organs for the sake of money but if someone’s life is in danger and they need an organ you can donate it. For kidney not heart. U don’t kill ur selves to save someone else.
@terintiaflavius33493 жыл бұрын
Ok here is my thoughts: Non Muslims are individuals who do not believe for whatever reason they have. That does not mean that Allah did not create these people, Allah still has love for all people. This is why he accepts them back after for whatever reason they return to belief. So if he also created them then he gave them life and knowledge.

If bodies can not be examined for autopsy or for scientific research, how then do doctors understand how the body functions and also if we didnt know how bodies function then transplants won't be possible therefore transplant should be forbidden since you have cut up a dead body anyway. I understand why bodies are not allowed to be mutilated because it is done to disrespect the deceased.

Question: If donating the body for medical research isn’t permitted, how would science evolve? Also, muslims and others too enjoy the benefits of medical treatment which perhaps have been developed through research on cadaver.

He did not mention any relevent hadith or reference of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W or a sahabi R.A. Secondly, organ donation and cutting etc in or after a war are two very different topics and cannot be correlateable like he did. Finally, everything he said was based on their own understanding, apprantly as mentionend earlier that there is no solid evidence of donating an organ to a person (muslim/non-muslim). However, on the other hand clearly Prophet Muhammad S.A.W opposes the idea of donating organs to ANYONE and anyone means father, mother, sister, brother, ANYONE...so kindly add some authentic references or remove this video as this may lead someone to imperfect actions w.r.t Islam.

@@Quaidian You said to remove this video. I am asking a basic question, he graduated with ijaazah in hadith from university of madina, also having his PhD from Yale about Islamic theology. May I be so kind to ask what you have? Other than watching these types of videos on Google? The reason why, it's because not everything is explaining by looking at the Qur'an so you have to "interpret" which involves using the Qur'an and hadith both together. For example how is smoking haram? The Qur'an doesn't say smoking is haram nor the hadith? But we know Muhammad saw said all intoxicants are haram especially that harms your body with this substance. He's explaining that inside family members as long as you don't die in the process such as 1 kidney, you're allowed. Or giving blood but you cannot ask for any money since the body parts are not yours. There will never be any direct hadith or Qur'an for specific scientific scenarios such as. "Are we allowed to go into space"? Can you give me an answer to that using just the Qur'an or hadith. Just quote me the hadith. Don't explain it or interpret it now this Sheikh did
