HEY. Sorry we didn't have link in descrip at upload, we usually do and it was a mistake here. 100% My fault. I think this guy is fucking hilarious (Leo Vader) and don't want to do anything untoward. From what's been said in AMA's, Gordon's American shows often have earpieces for directing Gordon, and the Cameras from the producers, and splicing of scenes to give context or filler video, and you'll notice they're very jazzed up with the mental equivalent of a laugh track, very dramatic music, lots of ADR. The British variant of Kitchen Nightmares is calm, collected, and because of the way the staff and chefs handle themselves, it's much more true to form. All this might be said, I've yet to watch the video.

The schools (elementary and secondary) that I went to always made a really big deal about how important it was to have the students elect their student body representatives because only we knew what we wanted. Then they did a weighted average of the results from the teachers, students, and parents, where the teachers had 50% and the students and their parents each had 25%. So basically the teachers just picked anyway because they couldn't be outvoted.

None of us in the business watch tv because of this. People openly talk about “tricking the middle of the country”. There’s a real vibe on even non-reality sets of getting one over on you, the viewer. The consumer of television is viewed by those who make television as a group of slack-jawed rubes who can be convinced of anything. I’ve been on game shows where everything was reshot 4x. I’ve been on reality shoots where my seat was next to the script supervisor’s (this is a job for keeping continuity between shot setups and cut calls and would be unnecessary in anything unscripted). I was on a golf club commercial where all the shots were taken in close up by a robot that could hit 400y straight every time not by the professional golfer actually swinging it in the wide shot.
