The only thing that is appearing to stop you from enlightenment/self-realization/eternal life/knowing yourself to be unconditional love is identification with thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences instead of being aware of being aware and knowing yourself to be that unconditional love pure consciousness in which all thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences appear but are not inherently one with you; they are an expression of unconditional love; you are that infinite that is expressing itself as suffering/pleasure but inherently you are neither; you are that nothing/unconditional love/pure consciousness in which they are appear and by which they are perceived; Suffering/pleasure comes and goes; there is an awareness that is aware of them coming and going; that you are; remember and know what you are; never identify with anything that is appearing within you; since it appears within you; it can't be you; you are that in which it appears. When you abide as that in which it appears instead of identifying; nothing has a grip on you; if anything comes; it quickly goes; like clouds passing; only if you identify as a cloud then it will appear as if the cloud is here for longer than it is originally supposed to; if you simply rest as the awareness and do not identify; it will quickly dissolve; be unconditional love by being aware of being aware; this is the highest; this is what you are seeking in absolutely everything else; you are seeking yourself; you are seeking unconditional love; but you are looking outside of yourself; instead of being aware that you already are unconditional love. I have a similar line of understanding. So, it is nice to see another in that realm. Born into Catholicism, then was away until I had children. Stayed many years, then when the abuses were burst open and so forth, I left... for various reasons. We were taught by my stepfather to be respectful of other religions. Anyway, re: Catholicism. What was always tragic, is that the "Church" focused more on fine details of the chalice and host or robes or observances, that had nothing to do with what Christ teaches. In particular, the Church did not seem to focus too much on books of John, only the controlling fear based scriptures. Did they not read "1 John 4:18 18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.".

There comes a time when religion, ideologies, and philosophies can be seen simply as tools; tools by which to help one ascend to greater and higher levels of consciousness. From a higher perspective, ALL teachings are simply concepts. The spiritual path is the recognition that ALL concepts are human created ; created for structure, to provide meaning and a sense of purpose. Other teachers refer to these man-made concepts (all religions) as 'permission slips', something that you allow yourself to use for awhile until you no longer need them. Use whatever helps you until you naturally move past and beyond it. All experiences facilitate the expansion of consciousness.

I know it’s looked at critically by many, but after having had many profound experiences with psychedelics and plant medicine from the Amazon, which were connected with Eckharts teaching for all those years, I can tell you how it feels for me: I feel I experienced (probably just a fragment) of the divine realm, eternity, inner space, endless love. Now when talking with Christians about Jesus it feels a bit like talking about the gate, while it is about the temple. Jesus said “I am the way” and I totally feel like Eckhart says that all these teachings are POINTERS to the truth behind. So I’m having trouble to talk about these concepts as it’s like blocking the experience at the level of the mind. But: in the end, all roads lead to “god/universe/light/love” that I’m 100% sure…and as crazy as it sounds I do recommend to follow the pain, as in that I found eternal light. Much love 🙏🏼

A very important insight. Religion or any belief that is heavily mixed with ego will become an ideology and lead to abuse and suffering. Religion well practiced transcends itself and leads to spirituality/presence.....'prophecies will come to an end and yet love remains'...1st Corinthians 13

Word for word expresses my feelings, but not so much as one would think improbable. Love happens in vicinity of your tradition but not so much if you take or are given at other forms of traditional manifestations of that which one might believe it as true and others not as such. Regards to Mr Eckhart and his teachings or a modern way of exhausting your thirst for finding your honest truth and conformity to one which belong all.

I agree with Eckard that our religion is often a gateway to transcend spiritually. I personally believe children need a foundation of faith. I have seen the results of children who grow up without . Not preety. They will find their way to enlightment ,but children who were thought faith have a easier time getting there.

All organized religions are ideologies. I have rarely - if ever - met a religious person who even knows the meaning of consciousness. Religions almost always must have enemies in order to survive and their primary purpose is control and separation. Most of them seem to only be able to think in terms of black and white and if you throw something into their belief that doesn’t fit their self-constructed puzzle, they immediately dismiss it because if they admitted it could be true, it just might be the beginning of the destruction of their house of cards.

Looking inward is important. Looking outward is okay, as long as you don’t use your religion to judge and hurt others. When someone believes life starts after death, I question that person’s judgement on life itself.

The last two clips that play at the end of each video do have essentials of Eckharts teaching and i like to hear them again and again: "The mind made self focuses on the bad things" and "You awaken to who you are beyond your live situation". I think they are a great pointer to help me recognise when i focus on seemingly negative thing or when i identify with my lives circumstances.

Everybody has a set of beliefs and rules that they follow, and hence, everyone has a religion of some sort. The problem with isolating is that it can stunt growth. The monks and monastics encourage and support each other on the spiritual path. It is that type of support that one does not find in the society at large. Our societies tend to work against us.

If your religion has identified a problem ,an enemy, a threat and then tells you to call them out, to shame them, to make them accountable and then prescribes a lists of do and not to do, it's an ideology. Religion means to yoke, to join, not to divide. It takes a great deal of maturity to be enriched by a religion rather than used by its ideologies. This maturity usually is nurtured in silence, not talk, not action. Action that unites comes from a mind that knows stillness, seeks nothing and merges with All; all that gives rise to "this". Be well.
