I started my daughter on cows milk during the day at 6 months mixed 50/50 and worked up to all milk over the next 2 months. Also gave her choc milk for a change. She started on solids under 3 months as she was such a hungry baby. I know solids was early but all kids are different and this suited her.

Hey Ricky Very interesting topic mate. In my opinion renting is the way to go if you’re under 40yrs old living in Thailand. As there’s many life changes and choices that may happen before you want to settle down and build a house. But most importantly it’s all about keeping the dream alive. 👍🏻👍🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺

Hello! Potty training time can be hard for you and frustrating for them. What I heard before I had my children is the best way is when they are ready it will happen. I didn’t push it on my kids. When they were ready to understand I explained and showed them once. When I needed to go I would say potty potty and would run to the bathroom. It became fun for them because they would stop what they were doing and run with me too. Once they were ready they started to do the same. It worked on all of my 4 kids. They were all potty trained at 2.

Yes, for sure they are one year old. They can for sure start drinking real milk! You do not need to buy expensive formula. They can eat pretty much eat what daddy and grandma does. With restrictions like bones, or no chewing fat or something they can choke on. But they will sleep better when their tummies are full. Like my babies slept all through the night when I fed them oatmeal with fruit before they went to sleep. And all my kids love instant brown sugar oatmeal! Hope this helps. Love- Jess 😢

Good to see the family all well and the girls are certainly growing up quickly. Great commentary about the rental market and I agree with your comments and those of your subs that it's best value for money to rent vs buying in your present situation. For various reasons things may change down track so the option of an affordable and quality rental property provides the best flexibilty for future planning. Good luck mate and "go doggies" after a great win this round.

Renting is best. I’ve moved twice now due to my partners work. It’s so easy to change. I rented in Chaiyaphum first, then Ao Nang for over a year and it was 5 times the price of what I’m paying now 40 clicks NW of Korat. My advice is to take the cheaper option and if ‘Mom’ needs some beach time you can drive to (take your pick of destinations) in a day & short stay in a hotel. Great vid mate.

Ricky I did that with my eldest daughter I put her on cow milk at 1yrs old and a 3months my biggest mistake ever my poor daughter kept throwing up and was so sick took her to GP in NZ who advised me that it was way to early for her to be put on cows milk and that it was too strong for her little stomach so I put her back on formula and only introduced her slowly on cows milk at the age of 3 please be careful as it might be harmful on the girls not only that when changing formula it can also give the girls a really upset stomach I think maybe increase solid foods and slowly reduce milk intake like maybe three bottles a day with solids if they are eating a lot and having three meals a day milk and water in between will help keep them hydrated

At this stage, and listening to what you're logically saying, I'd think that you'd do well to keep renting for a while and see how the next 6 months pans out. Having the girls full time with you is still new for you and them, 6 more months will be a better time for making that decision, who know, your Mum may be a full time resident by then too. Trust yourself to make the right choice 💞💞

I'm jealous of your rental cost! I'm currently renting a fairly new 2 bedroom house (with a fenced yard for my little dog) near very clean military beaches for 12,000 baht monthly, but it's within a heavily tree lined gated community which has security guards and a pool/gym and only 2 hours outside of Bangkok and 30 minutes to Pattaya malls. Hence the extra bahts! Once you find were you want to live permanently in Thailand, I would buy so your little girls can inherit the house and not have to pay rent like I am now. I bet your Mom would like Sattahip if she likes clean beaches, little day trips to islands nearby, and mountain views.

We’ve been going to Phuket since 2010 and since 2022 we’ve been staying for at least 4 months. Someone asked why not just buy and have property management look after the place while we’re not there. What we rent in Phuket would be 4 times more where we live. When you own there’s always something to do and the cost of taxes, insurance, maintenance go up each year. We’re home owners so we feel owning one property is enough. So for us renting is a better option and less hassle.

Great vid, as foreigners we are restricted on what we can do in regards to real estate. You can buy a condo, lease land and build or buy real estate through a company, but this latter suggestion is very grey now and possibly illegal. Here in Phuket, foreigners that have invested in real estate via Thai nominees and foreign owned companies are being reclaimed at alarming rates at they have lost a s**t load of money and in some cases deported for illegal activity. What your paying for the place your at is a great deal. Location is a personal choice. I'm married to a Thai and live at her house that she owns, so I don't have these issues, but renting I think if you had a choice is probably the best way to go depending on your budget. Your legal, have a registered address for your TM30 form and your squeeky clean.

Rent or buy? Well, renting here has served me well over the years. I did buy a condo in BKK and rent that out to a thai family. If however, I chose to sell it would be difficult in this market. The main reason for keeping it is firstly, the rent I get more than covers any mortgage. Secondly, If Oliver goes to university in BKK, he has somewhere to stay rent free. Now, I am building a farm and that will be where I lay my hat so to speak, so the investment again is not an issue. Selling any property or land here can take an age, so best not to buy to invest. At your age, you are probably better off renting and if you are tempted, buy in Australia where it is easier to rent out and sell. Just my two pennies worth from an old Gen X dude.🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋

How are the twins doing being with you and mum full time?? Do they cry still a lot, or have they chilled out a little bit?? It takes a baby time to get used to their new environment and new full time caregivers. Which is daddy and grandma! I want to say Ricky, We are so proud of you! You’re doing a great job taking care of your babies full time!! Well hopefully you are keeping them full time, we don’t really know?? Just wondering?? Since you came there to be with your wife, and now she’s gone, why don’t you take your babies and go back home to Australia to give your family a chance to be full time in your daughters lives?? You seem to care more about your wife’s family being apart of the babies lives than your family in Australia. Your mom is getting up in age, she shouldn’t have to move to a different country to just be apart of her grand babies lives, even tho she may say she’s ok doing it. The Thai family had their time with the babies, move back home to give your family the same chance to help raise them too! I’m not trying to be mean. But your mum is not young anymore and, she obviously wants to help raise the girls. Think about your mum, and what will make her life the easiest! Your kids will not learn to speak English in school. And how will your mum communicate with the girls if they don’t speak English?? Love- Jess

You're right but also I'm right. How you're brought up somewhere like Australia isn't the same. They teach respect here in Thailand, enforce it really. Such a respectful society and citizens. But of course all that could be different in 20 years

In Thailand they teach you to respect your elders. Something that is very lacking here in Australia.

@@RickyIsaan Thailand. Unfortunately it does not cultivate critical and creative thinking. Certain subjects are still taboo. This will change one day when there is a true democracy. Ever watched Thai tv 08:00 and 18:00. It's very uplifting stirring music but it is akin to brain washing. I don't think many people watch tv now anyway so fortunately most of it is lost. When my wife's mother was still alive we had to turn the tv on and stand up.

Quick comparing their to Melbourne. If you don't like where you're at look someplace else in the city. You always mention the difference of living there. Look around. Find a cheaper place on the city.

There's not much flexibility in regards to cheaper in Melbourne mate

You had a house. You gave it up to the Thai family. You could have sold that house. And use the money to build something in the city under your girl's name.

His deceased wife paid for that house.
